Geno's P.O.V

Geno scurried around town, silent and swift as a cat. The sky was dark, and the streetlamps showed off their light. He wasn't sure what he was running from, but he could feel their eyes watching his every movement.

Finally, he skidded to stop when he ended up in a dark alleyway. There were no more routes. It smelled like somebody died here. It was rather unpleasant, and it took everything Geno had to hold back his gags.

Perking up his ears, Geno listened carefully. He heard light footsteps. There was definitely somebody following him.

Geno's nails dug into his palm. As a neko, he had sharp nails, sharp teeth, and had sharp hearing as well as smell. Being a neko had it's ups and downs. Like being more flexible had it's ups. And being viewed as a cat had it's downs.

Unsure of what to do, Geno slipped deeper into the shadows. Perhaps he could wait until morning. But he couldn't help but wonder why he was being followed.

Geno stiffened when he saw monster in a dark suit. He face was hidden by the shadows, so Geno was unable to see his face. But Geno could make out a long muzzle, and large paws, almost like a wolf. Maybe he was a werewolf.

Werewolves and anything cat-related did not get along. They were at a shaky peace for a few years, but every so often they would get into fights.

After a minute, the werewolf left. Letting out a small sigh of relief, Geno stepped out of the shadows when he knew that the werewolf was gone. He didn't even realize he was trembling. His breathing was quick and short.

Taking a few deep breaths, his breathing soon returned to normal. Poking his head out of the alleyway, there was no sign of any people. Geno sprinted down the streets at full speed. His scarf flowed behind him, like waves of water. Finally, he arrived in another alleyway. Unlike the other one, there weren't many hiding spots but more routes, and the streetlamps appeared to be broken.

The area was strangely silent. The air was clean, expect for the stale scent of werewolves. But it's at least a few days old, so Geno wasn't so worried. But he kept his guard up, just in case they decided that Geno would be their next dinner.

Walking down the alleyway, the uneasy feeling grew. Soon it got to the point when the feeling of being watched returned. Geno sighed. Why can't he just have a normal night for once?

Geno tensed up like a cat, (literally) when the strong smell of werewolves was coming his way. Before he could do anything, Geno was forcefully slammed into a wall. Geno swore he heard a bone crack.

Geno fell to the ground, his wound bleeding rapidly. The same werewolf he saw earlier was staring at him with hatred and cruelty. Geno tried to make a bone barrier, but he was in to much pain to summon anything.

"P-Please don't hurt me..." Geno whimpered, gritting his teeth in pain. This is what he gets for only having one ninth of a soul. A set of weak ribs that could be broken easily! Just what he needed!

The werewolf laughed. His laughter echoed through the empty alleyway. "Do you really think I would let you go that easily?"

Geno knew the answer was 'no.' He wasn't used to being this weak. Usually, he could handle a fight pretty well. If he wasn't ambushed and still had his ribs in tack then he wouldn't be withering on the ground in pain!

The werewolf snickered, seeing the defeat in Geno's eyes. He kicked Geno's already broke ribs, making him scream in pain.

That sadist bastard... Geno thought, fighting back sobs. It's not my fault I'm a neko!

Looking at the werewolf right now, Geno figured he wouldn't win either way. The werewolf was way bigger then him, and his muscles were visible under his thick pelt. His razor sharp fangs could cut the skin with the slightly touch.

The werewolf seemed to enjoy throwing Geno around like a rag doll. Geno figured he would die soon, but it was taking longer then he wanted it to. His screams echoed through the empty alleyway. Maybe someone would come, right?

Geno waited, curling up in a ball, sobbing and waited for the werewolf to just finish him off. Nobody was going to save him, and he would die and nobody would know.

Suddenly, time seem to slow down. A small hum filled the area, making the werewolf freeze in his tracks. It sounded something like a theme song you would use for a legend. It was smooth and soothing, but at the same time it made Geno feel hopeless and a little melancholy.

There wasn't anyone around expect for Geno and the werewolf, so who was singing?

The streetlamps started flickering on and off. Geno's thoughts were cut short when he started to feel dizzy. He knew it was from blood lost, and he would pass out soon. Black spots danced before his eyes and his vision blurred. Suddenly, a blue aura surrounded the werewolf. He crashed into the wall with a painful yelp.

The last thing he was a hooded figure and a flash of metal before he passed out.

~Time skip~

Geno woke up, his mind clouded with pain. He was in a dark room, and apparently laying in bed. He wasn't to keen on leaving the comfortable spot, but he had to know who saved him.

Trying to get off the bed was like walking around with a broken leg without a cast. Finally he gave up and just laid there for god only knows for how long. With a sigh, he buried his face in the soft blankets and curled in a ball.

Even though he throat burned, he eventually fell asleep. He stirred when he felt warmth spread throughout his body. Yawning like a kitten, he glanced upwards and found the same cloaked figure. They didn't even notice that he was awake. They had a hand placed on Geno's chest, with a small, blue glow. Geno assumed that they were just healing him, and he couldn't stop the small purr that escaped from his mouth.

The cloaked figure looked up from his work and Geno was able to tell that he was a skeleton. Geno blushed in embarrassment, and sank deeper in his scarf.

The skeleton chuckled, clearly amused by his reaction. "Your a neko, don't be embarrassed. It's normal for nekos to purr when their pleased."

"Y-Yes, I know, but-" Geno was cut off when a loud purr escaped. The skeleton scratched behind Geno's ear, smirking slightly when Geno blushed a darker shade of blue.

"I'm Reaper, by the way." Reaper chuckled, pulling his hand away. "And sorry about singing back in the alleyway. It, uh, tends to do that."

Geno frowned. So Reaper was singing. "Why did it make me feel hopeless...?"

Reaper scratched the back of his neck. "Well, being 'The God of Death' and all. When I sing others feel hopeless. I only did it to calm that guy down."

Geno nodded. He had to admit, Reaper's singing wasn't bad. "I-I'm Geno."

"Well Geno, your welcomed to stay here for as long as you want." Reaper said, patting Geno on the head. "Tibia honest, it gets kinda lonely here, heh."

"O-Oh!" Geno said sitting up. He was a bit sore, but his ribs didn't hurt to much. "W-Well thank you! How can I repay you?"

Reaper shrugged. "You don't have to. Just know that I value my breath so it would be nice if you didn't take it away every time you walk by."

Geno took a moment to process what he just said and his face instantly lit up on fire. Reaper just winked and left the room.

For some reason Geno's soul started to feel funny. His soul started to beat faster and it felt warm.

Dammit.

...

Reaper and Geno were walking back home from having a small 'date.' Geno wanted some way to thank Reaper. It wasn't like Geno wanted to spend time with him or anything. Nope.

"That was nice," Reaper commented.

Geno nodded. "It was..."

After a few moments, Reaper smirked. "Hey, can you hold my hand? I want to make my ex jealous."

Reaper had a ex? Geno gulped and slipped in hand into Reaper's. Their fingered intertwined, and a warm, tingling feeling started to spread through Geno's body just from the simple touch.

Geno looked around for Reaper's 'ex.' He felt a little jealous at the thought that Reaper used to love somebody else, but he pushed the feeling away. "S-So, where's your ex?"

Reaper's smirk widened. "That's the point. I don't have an ex."

"So this was just an excuse to hold my hand?" Geno snorted, his ears twitching. "Real smooth."

Reaper winked. "Say what you want, we both know you wanted to hold my hand as well~"

Geno huffed and pouted but didn't pulled away. Reaper chuckled and placed a small kiss on Geno's hand with a wink. Geno's face burned hotter then an oven in a matter of seconds. Reaper only smirked and walked away.

Shaking his head to clear his thoughts, Geno followed Reaper shyly.

Damn you Reaper, for making me feel feelings.
