Chapter 14: Problem?

Third POV.

"Come on. Let's get you cleaned up." Reaper said when he was sure that Geno had calmed down.

Geno sniffed and wiped the remaining tears and whatever that red liquid was on his face.

Reaper noticed the red eye never stops bleeding but at least the weird words and glitches lessen considerably. Like it had calmed down. Maybe it reacts with Geno's state of mind.

"Does it hurt?" The god of death asked as he trace the area under Geno's eye socket.

Geno looked away to the side. Contemplating. It was really hard to tell if he was actually in pain or not due to his unnaturally high pain tolerance. But if he's gonna be honest...

"It stings a bit." Geno quietly says as he place a hand over his red eye.

Reaper signed, though Geno couldn't tell if it was a frustrated or stressed sign. Maybe both.

Reaper suddenly lifted Geno off the bed and carried him out the room.

"W-where are we going?" Geno stuttered as a blue blush dusted his face.

"Bathroom. I did say we'll get you cleaned up." Reaper says.

"Oh." was the only thing Geno could say. Until he realized Reaper had said 'we' and blushed brighter.

Nope. He was not going to let Reaper wash him.

"I can do it myself." Geno said as calm as he could yet his face says otherwise. They reached the bathroom and Reaper puts him down.

"Okay. I'll get you some clothes." Reaper said casually before literally disappearing, leaving him alone in the bathroom.

That's it? He's not gonna protest or something? Usually, Reaper would insist to do everything for him. What causes the sudden change? It actually made Geno a little worried. Had he done something wrong? Does Reaper really hated lying?

His thoughts were cut off when Reaper reappeared right in front of him, holding a bundle of black clothes. "Here, be downstairs in a few minutes." Reaper said as he gave Geno the fresh batch of clothes and left. This time, he's using the door.

"What?"

Reaper turned back to him, holding the door open. "If you're not down there within a few minutes, I'll come and get you."

"Are you seriously giving me a time limit?!" Geno almost yelled, looking at the god of death incredulously.

Reaper signed, "of course not.", then walked up to Geno. "Take your time. I just don't want to leave you alone for a long time." he admitted as he place a gentle hand on Geno's cheek.

So Reaper hadn't change after all, he was still the same protective grim reaper. But why was he acting so serious?

"And I still need to talk to Ink about something." Reaper added before placing a gentle kiss on Geno's forehead. "I'll be downstairs, call me if you need anything." With that, Reaper left. Closing the door behind him with a soft click.

Geno was once again left alone in the bathroom. He signed tiredly as he walked over to the counter and place the clothes on it.

Talk about what? Referring to the recent event, they're most probably talking about his eye. Or Gaster.

The name itself brought shivers down his spine. Simply thinking about him feels like he was standing right behind him.

Geno looked behind him, just to be safe, and sure enough, no one was there. He shook his head in an attempt to get rid of the feeling. Ink was right. He can't reach him here.

Meanwhile...

Reaper walked down the stairs and found Ink pacing back and forth impatiently. Biting his thumb and mumbling to himself.

"What's wrong?" Reaper asked. Ink was mildly startled as he perked up.

"I think he's getting worse." Ink answered. "Geno, I mean." He'd never seen Geno cry so helplessly. Usually Geno would act tough even though he was in a lot of pain.

Geno was the strongest person Ink had ever met. And seeing someone strong break down and cry was heart breaking.

"Actually, we've been working on his emotional problems. I told him to let everything out. He's having a little difficulty but... you know, baby steps." Reaper explained and Ink nodded in understanding, quite relieved.

"But still, just earlier. He can't even tell the difference between reality and a nightmare anymore." the creator said, utterly concerned.

"Let's not forget that there is also a Gaster here and he knows lots of magic tricks. He's been labeled as a traitor. So who knows if it was him or not." Reaper retorted.

"So you're saying that it's not a nightmare. That the Gaster here did it?" Ink said. It wasn't really a question but more of a statement that needs confirmation. If that was true, then they're in trouble.

The god of death shrugged his shoulders. "There's a probability. He's the only threat here in this universe." His voice getting low.

Ink shook his head in disapproval and disappointment. "You can't just randomly blame someone simply because you don't trust them."

"I am not 'randomly blaming' Gaster," Reaper quoted. "I know him. He's been obsessed with the 'Determination' ever since he discovered the fact that he can't control it." the god of death paused to look at the creator who was anticipating his next words.

"Gaster? The god of magic? Can't do a simple mortal magic? That's a huge blow on his ego and pride." Reaper said in a slight mocking tone and Ink silently agrees.

"Once he found out that Geno, a monster, can properly and perfectly control the 'Determination', he'll go mad. And most definitely will come after Geno. Don't you think?" Reaper said. Growing angrier by the second.

"IF he found out." Ink corrected him. "Have they met yet?"

Reaper went silent. "As far I know, no."

Ink signed. "See? You're barking at the wrong tree." Ink said and Reaper became silent again.

"Honestly, I am convinced that your Gaster is a threat. But not as of now. We should deal with the current problem." Ink stated.

Reaper seemed thoughtful for a second before replying. "Fair point. What's the real problem?"

"Gaster won't stop bothering Geno." The creator simply said.

"Do you know which Gaster was it?" The grim reaper inquired as he checked the time. It had already been a few minutes.

"Well, yeah. Actually, I do." Ink answered but before he could say anything else, Reaper shushed him.

"Hold that thought." He said as he disappeared and reappeared right in front of the bathroom door. He knocked twice and called "Geno?".

Reaper heard a sign from the other side of the door, some shuffling, before the door opened to reveal Geno. He was wearing a plain black tee shirt and black sweat pants. Both piece of clothing were a bit too big for him. The scarf was gone, exposing his neck. The white glitch covering his right red eye was back.

Reaper blushed as soon as the door opened. Geno's body was actually slimmer and smaller than he thought. Without the bulky jacket, Geno's shape was... sexy. And the clothes were making him looked even more fragile.

"What?" Geno asked, also blushing. Reaper had been gaping at him with wide eyes and blue face.

Reaper snapped out came back to reality. He once again looked over at Geno's form to make sure he wasn't hallucinating. "You're beautiful." He breathlessly commented.

Geno blushed brighter and slammed the door closed. But Reaper managed to stop it by placing his foot in between the door and the doorframe. Effectively preventing Geno from shutting it close.

"Wait! Don't hide!" Reaper called through the gap.

Geno didn't reply. He could feel his face burning up and his mind was blank. He didn't really expect that kind of reaction. He kept leaning against the door, preventing Reaper from opening it any further.

But then, the door suddenly closed and he stumbled back a bit. At first he thought Reaper gave up. But he suddenly appeared in front of him.

Reaper immediately wrapped his arms around Geno who struggled from his hold.

Reaper chuckled seeing Geno's blue face. "Are you really that embarrassed?"

Geno groaned as he gave up struggling and rested his forehead against Reaper's shoulder, successfully hiding his face.

"Well you better get used to it 'coz there's plenty more where that came from, sweetheart~" Reaper teased, his smile widening as he felt Geno tensed in his arms.

"Come on. Ink's waiting." Reaper said and without warning, he teleported them to the living room where Ink was.

"Hey Geno- oh gosh, are you okay?! You're all blue." Ink worriedly inquired as he touched Geno's forehead. "You're a little warm. Do you have a fever?!"

"I'm fine." Geno whined, a little annoyed. Then suddenly remembered the last time he said he was fine, Reaper snapped. He side glance at Reaper, expecting him to scold him.

But instead, Reaper laugh a little. "He's fine. Just blushing."

Ink relaxed considerably. "Oh, by the way. Geno, can I see your soul?" the creator requested with a expectant smile.

Geno frowned as he subconsciously place a hand over his chest. "Why?" He was not comfortable with anyone seeing his soul. He knew he had a new soul now, but still.

"I just wanna check something. To see if you're okay." Ink briefly explained.

Geno felt a hand landed on his shoulder and he looked up to see Reaper nodded at him. Silently telling him to do what Ink says.

Giving in, Geno summoned his soul. It hovers over his hands.

The outer 'shell' of the soul was transparent like glass, clearly showing what's inside. And inside were blue and red glowing bits like particles that floats around. That was his magic. It looks like red and blue glitters in water.

His soul was gorgeous. And very different from any monster's soul he had seen.

He carefully handed it to Ink who immediately scanned it. "You may wanna sit down. It might take a while." Ink said.

Geno did as that on the couch and Reaper followed him. He was actually nervous. He watched as Ink inspect his soul with sharp and calculating eyes.

Then out of nowhere, something cold touched his neck and he recoiled from it. He swiftly looked at his side to find Reaper with a huge smirk on his face and his hand was hovering near his neck. Like he was pointing something.

It clicked into his mind, Reaper had poked his neck.

"Don't touch my neck." Geno almost growled in annoyance.

"Why not~" Reaper said as he poked Geno's neck again. But a different spot. Geno once again recoiled and slapped Reaper's hand away.

"Stop it!"

But Reaper wouldn't simply stop. He was having too much fun to stop. Again, he poked a different spot on Geno's neck.

This time, it made Geno squeak as he recoiled away from his touch.

"Sensitive, are we~" Reaper teased. Geno glared at him.

"Ahem, excuse me." Ink interrupted as he cleared his non existent throat.

Geno and Reaper looked at him. "Yeah?"

"There's a bit of a problem." Ink gestured at the soul hovering over his hand. He didn't want to ruin their fun but this is important.

Reaper instantly went serious. "What is it?" He stood up to have a closer look at Geno's soul.

Meanwhile, Geno remained on the couch. The nervous feeling was back. But he still listens to whatever's Ink gonna say.

"See the red ones?" Ink began as he lifted the soul a bit higher for Reaper to have a better look.

"Yeah?"

"Those are 'Determination', DT for short- " the creator was cut off when Reaper suddenly spoke.

"How do we remove it from his soul?" the grim reaper immediately asked. Knowing that the DT does no good on monsters.

"We can't. It already merged with his magic. It has become part of his DNA. Permanently." Ink answered solemnly. Not sure how will Reaper take it. He knows Reaper had seen enough monsters die because of the DT.

The said grim reaper looked down at the soul hovering over Ink's hand. It was pulsing warm magic too fast. He looked back at Geno who was sitting on the couch. Worriedly glancing at both of them.

"Just calm down, Geno. Everything's going to be fine." Reaper soothe though he didn't approach the other just like the usual. He remained where he was.

"Is that bad?" Reaper asked as he turned back to Ink. His gaze fixed on the soul as it pulsed more calmly this time.

"It depends on how you take it." Ink answered an indirectly.

Reaper thought for a moment and the two others waited in tense silence.

"Is it hurting him? Doing any damage or some sort?" The grim reaper asked seriously as he looked straight into Ink's eyes. Daring the creator to lie.

"As of now, no. But I'm not sure what will happen if he use magic." Ink said.

"Nothing happened." Geno suddenly spoke and the two gods looked at him. Nearly forgetting that he was there.

"Okay. Then, try summoning the 'Reset Button'." Ink ordered casually.

Reaper and Geno raised their 'brows' at Ink's odd request.

"Ink, the 'Reset Button' can only be summoned in the Save Screen." Geno said as a matter of fact.

"Just do it." Ink said. Geno just signed and stood up from the couch. He took a more stable stance, feet apart and back straight.

He summoned his magic. Ink and Reaper watched his soul glows bright blue. Then, Geno closed his eye and focused on searching the familiar determined feeling inside him.

Reaper and Ink watched carefully as the red particles inside Geno's soul began to glow. Then swirl into a spiral. At first it was slow but soon it gets faster and faster until all the red particles were gathered in the center of the soul before it suddenly glows golden yellow.

Ting.

A high pitch sound echoed like a small bell. The two gods gaped at Geno.

Geno opened his eye and it immediately widens in shock.

The 'Reset Button' was in front of him.
