Chapter 5 - Birthday
Ron and Hermione sent their replies, confirming their attendance to Hogwarts. Harry took a little while longer and addressed it directly to McGonagall. He took his time, re-reading the letter until his mind became unfocused and only random sentences flashed in his mind, like,
-Congratulations on becoming Headmistress.-
-Things at Hogwarts has changed but will it still be the same?-
-considering coming back to Hogwarts.-
-security-
-identity-
Finally he put it down and rubbed his temples. His scar did not hurt since he defeated Voldamort but now he got regular headaches.
He tied the letter to Errol, the Weasley family owl and sent him off.
Sighing, Harry went to bed. It was nearly midnight. Harry watched the clock on his bedside table tick until the needle moved to 12. It was now his birthday.
Harry thought about his 11th birthday. How he was sleeping on the cold floor of a cabin. It was raining heavily. At the stroke of midnight there was a loud bang. Hagrid had come to tell him he was a wizard.
That had been one of his favourite memories. Smiling to himself he finally fell asleep.

"Happy birthday Harry"
Harry woke to find a grinning Ginny sitting beside him. She bent over to give him a kiss. This was a special birthday kiss, Harry wasn't sure if he was dreaming until she pulled away.
"You better get ready, everyone is waiting for you downstairs." She said, her face bright and her flaming red hair framing her face.
Harry got dressed quickly and went downstairs. Everyone was seated at the table. Molly and Ginny were fussing over something in the kitchen and George seemed to be helping them.
"He's here." Ginny told her mother, who jumped and scrambled to get everything ready.
"Happy birthday Harry!" Charlie said, throwing him a present.
"Happy birthday mate!" Ron said, throwing him a punch on his arm, grinning.
Everyone took turns to give him a hug or shake his hand and give him his present. Then Molly was ready.
With a Ta-da reaction from Ginny and George, Molly set down his birthday cake in the table. It was a magically frosted cake shaped like Hogwarts. The lights of the frosting Windows would turn off and on to create the illusion that it was real.
Harry felt a pang of guilt when he thought about Hogwarts. He always felt at home in Hogwarts, but now he wasn't sure what he felt. Nevertheless he thanked Molly who pulled him into a bear hug.
"I just this would be fitting since the three of you will be going back to Hogwarts this year." She said, smiling.
"It's perfect Mrs Weasley, thank you!" Harry said.
As they were finishing up breakfast, the post arrived. The owl dropped a letter for Molly, who ripped it open immediately.
"Oh good! Andromeda is joining us for dinner and she is bringing little Teddy." Molly said happily.
Tonks and Lupin's baby, Ted, stayed with his grandmother. They had mutually decided that was best for baby Teddy. Harry couldn't wait to see him again. Perhaps after he got his N.E.W.T.S he would take full responsibility for Teddy and they could live in Ottery Bay.
Later that evening more guests arrived. Harry realised Molly had invited more people as a surprise.
Hagrid was the first to arrive, tall as ever, he kept hitting his head on the ceiling until Arthur set up a tent in the yard.
Hermione and Andromeda were playing with baby Ted. Arthur set up tables and chairs, as more guests arrived. Luna, Neville, Lee, Bill and Fleur, even Kingsley Shacklebolt had turned up.
Kingsley was now the minister for magic which means he was busier than ever trying to clean up the mess from his predecessors.
"Happy birthday Harry." He said, shaking Harry's hand. He looked exhausted but smiled anyway.
"How's everything at the ministry?" Harry asked.
"A mess! We had to abolish all those muggle hunting departments, and Askaban is full. Trials are taking place every day now. Some people suggest giving the prisoners a Dementors kiss, just to make place." Kingsley sighed.
"That's horrible!" Harry said.
"I don't know what's worse. The people who suggested this, or the people who wanted them thrown into Askaban for suggesting it." Kingsley said, laughing darkly. "Everyone is scared now. Even though Vodemort is gone."
"But why?" Harry asked confused. "Voldamort is gone. There were so many witnesses."
"He was gone once before, then he came back more powerful than ever. He still has supporters, some in Askaban, some hiding in plain site. People don't know who to trust. It will take time for things to go back to normal." Kingsley replied.
There was some silence. Harry did not realise the extent of damage on the wizarding world while he stayed in the Burrow.
Kingsley seems to know what Harry was thinking and said "perhaps if you could join the ministry, take part in the capture and imprisonment of death eaters still spreading fear."
"What, like become an Auror or something?" Harry asked, surprised and Kingsley nodded. "Am I even qualified?"
Kingsley laughed. "Harry, you are probably more qualified than half the Auror department. In fact I think you, Ron and Hermione would be a great asset." Kingsley added.
Auror. Harry always thought he would end up becoming an Auror, he never showed any interest in anything else. Ron and Hermione would probably do the same.
"I was planning to go back to Hogwarts." Harry told Kingsley.
"That is wise. To finish your education. But if you ever change your mind just send me an owl." Kingsley said.
By the end of the night, Harry had talked himself horse. Catching up with everyone for the first time since the war ended. Hagrid pulled him into a rib cracking hug and Nevill and Luna filled him in with everything they had done since the war ended.
Harry felt guilty. Everyone was busy rebuilding the Wizarding world and he shut himself up at the burrow. Maybe he should listen to Kingsley and join the ministry and make himself useful.
It was dark and guests began to leave one by one. Harry pretended not to see Ron and Hermione snogging by the shed as he made his way back inside.
Ginny was inside waiting for him. She put her arms around him and they kissed. It was a long, passionated kiss. Harry knew what this kiss was about. It was a goodbye kiss. She was leaving the next day to join the Holyhead harpies. It took him every thing he had to pull away and say "I hope they realise how lucky they are to have you."
Ginny went red. "Wish I could come with you to Hogwarts." Ginny said. "We could have more time with each other."
"Ron wouldn't be to thrilled." Harry laughed.
"Well, he is too busy snogging Hermione, I doubt he would notice." Ginny said grinning.
Soon Hermione left and everyone had gone to bed. Checking to make sure that Ron was fast asleep, Harry made his way down to Ginny's room.
He could see light through the crack under the door. Ginny was still awake. She opened the door immediately after the first knock.
"I knew you would come." She said smiling.
"You are leaving in the morning, we don't have much time to be with each other." Harry said, he put his hand on the side of her face.
Ginny closed her eyes at his touch. "I love you." She said.
"I love you too." Harry said and then they kissed. Gunny pulled him inside gently and closed the door behind them.

👆🏾For Harry and Ginny shippers! ❤️
I know this chapter is more serious and slow. Harry just sorting out his options before going to Hogwarts because he is not convinced it's a good idea.
Comment below if you think he should stay or go.
Would the wizarding world take him seriously as an Auror or does he need to finish school first.
Will update you soon ! Vote if u liked this chapter ....
