Chapter 16 - Quitter
Harry Ron and Hermione sat in silence in the Gryffindor common room. Harry and Ron just told Hermione about the conversation they had with Terrence and for once she had no idea what to say.
Ron's fan had something to do with Terrence and Terrence thinks it has something to do with Malfoy. The Malfoy family has been in peace with them ever since the war and they could think of no reason for them to hurt Ron. Nothing made sense.
Hermione finally gave up. "I think you should write back to this fan and ask her to meet you. We have a weekend at Hogsmead coming up and that would be a good time to do it."
Harry and Ron stared at her.
"Are you serious? Let Ron meet the fan who burned out faces out of the newspaper clippings?" Harry said in surprise.
"We would be there too!" Hermione said. "We would hide and keep an eye on them at all times."
Harry and Ron looked at each other. "I don't know, Hermione." Ron said slowly. "If she is harmless then why don't we just ignore her?"
"You are right. I'm sorry." Hermione said "It was a stupid suggestion."
"Are we ok?" Ron asked her softly, putting his hand on hers.
"Of course." Hermione said. "I'm sorry that I over reacted. I just have a lot going on." She said gesturing the pile of homework set out.
"Speaking of which." Harry said, getting up and moving to the window. "Kingsley has some for us too." Harry untied the letter and the owl took off immediately.
Harry read the letter and then passed it to Ron and Hermione.
"Looks like our new minister is getting everything sorted now." Harry said.
"That's good. So he won't need us anymore." Hermione said folding up the letter. None of them looked thrilled.
"He asked us to join the Auror department once we finish Hogwarts." Harry told them suddenly recalling their conversation at the Burrow on his birthday.
"What?" Hermione said looking up at him, surprised "without getting our NEWTS?"
"I think we accomplished more than NEWTs standard, Hermione." Ron said grinning at her.
"But we know nothing about becoming an Auror." Hermione said.
"I think it would be nice to finally be able to be involved in cleaning up death eater scum." Ron said dreamily.
"Harry!" Came a voice from behind them. It was a first year boy who came holding a few rolls of parchments tied with purple ribbon. "Professor Slughorn asked me to give you this. There is one you too." He added giving a roll to Ron and Hermione.
"Thanks." Harry said and then groaned. "Another dinner party with Slughorn."
"I have never been invited before!" Ron exclaimed with a look of sheer delight.
"Let's go together." Hermione said blushing.
"Of course we are going together, have we ever gone to the same place separately?" Ron said not looking at her, eyes still scanning the invitation, completely oblivious to her intention.
Harry smacked him on the head with his invitation.
"What was that for?" Ron moaned.
Harry raised an eyebrow and then looked at Hermione. Then it clicked.
"Oh you mean, us together?" Ron said his ears going red.
Hermione's face went redder as she turned away before saying sarcastically "Unless you want to go with your fan."
Harry grinned and slowly pulled away from them to give them privacy. His thoughts moved to Ginny. She had send two owls since she left to join the Holyhead Harpies.
First was that she had reached alright and was excited to meet the team.
Second was a little sober as she said was working hard to get a permanent place on the team and there was a lot of competition.
She hadn't responded to any of Harry's owls since then and Harry was starting to get a little worried.
How long does one have to wait before going there to find out if she is ok without looking like an obsessive boyfriend?
Harry's thoughts were suddenly interrupted by the opening of the portrait hole. He saw a tall, skinny boy slip out.
It was Terrence.
Glancing over at Ron and Hermione who were now snogging, Harry decided to follow Terrence.
Terrence went to the second floor. He waited for a while at the stairs waiting for the crowd to die down.
When the passage was clear he began to move again but before Harry could follow he saw someone watching him from the corner of his eye.
Harry spun around in surprise. It was the one he had been thinking about the most lately.
"Ginny!" He said.
"Harry!" She said smiling brightly before running towards him and throwing her arms around him.
He hugged her still unable to believe she was really here. Then he looked at her and said. "What are you doing here?"
"I want to finish my NEWTS." She said simply.
"Gosh! It's so good to be back!" She added looking around.
Harry was surprised. Ginny practically fought for a chance to go play for the Holyhead Harpies but now she just came back to study? There was definitely something more going on here.
"Let go to the common room! I want to see everyone." She said happily.
"Gin." Harry said seriously. "Is everything ok?"
The smile on Ginny's face faltered a little.
"It's a story for anther day. I'm completely wiped out and I need to talk to McGonagal before classes start on Monday." Ginny said.
Harry dint say anything. Completely forgetting why he was there in the first place they walked back to the Gryffindor tower together.

Terrence was hiding in the toilet breathing hard.
Harry Potter was following him? That is not good!
What if he found out what he was about to do?
Nobody can know!

Two shadows apparated in a dark alley.
"What news?" Said one man. To the clocked figure next to him.
"Our time is coming soon." Said the clocked women in a smooth voice.
"How soon?" Growled the other.
"Patience!" The women snapped. "We must be careful or we will be caught. The ministry is keeping a watch on us all."
"What do we do." He man asked.
"Nothing." She replied coldly. "Our friend has already infiltrated the ministry. It's about time that the wizarding world comes back to our control."
The man nodded "What of the boy?"
"We must wait for him. We have no power where he is." She said. The man hesitated like he wanted to say something but stopped himself, took leave and apparated.
The women stood alone in the alley. She lifted the sleeve on her left arm and examined it.
The dark mark was beginning to fade. In a few years it would be gone completely. She could not let that happen. She wanted justice and she always gets what she wants.
