Chapter 52
"Chan misses you."
Over and over again, Changbin repeated the conversation with Jisung and reviewed the words of the younger one. They had been the tiny spark that had rekindled Changbin's heart. And even if he tried to contain his joy and not expect too much that Chan will forgive him, he could not help but be a little more than cautiously optimistic.
His apartment was now tidy and he was in putting away his freshly washed laundry when he came up with another idea.
He wanted to prepare Chan's apartment shortly before the arrival of the two, but he decided to go to the studio and clean up there.
Normally, they didn't care much about what the room in which they worked looked like. But Changbin had the great need to welcome Chan (and of course Jisung) as best he could.
And after that, his way would lead to the label's gym, which was why he packed his sports clothes and hung the bag over his shoulder before leaving the apartment.
On the way to the label, Changbin's head rocked to the beat of the song, of which he was sure that it described Chan one hundred percent perfectly. In recent days he had discovered a new band for himself -Skillet- and the song "Invincible" described what Chan meant to him.
A smile played around his lips as he got out, while the song still looped in his head.
"You make me feel invincible, earthquake, powerful..." he murmured on the way to the elevator, but fell silent when he heard loud steps approaching.
When he arrived at their studio, Changbin sat down at the desk, because in the middle of his clean-up session, he had come up with a tiny part that he wanted to change to his song.
After that was done, he started cleaning up. But fortunately, the chaos in the studio was far less extensive than at his home. But since he really wanted to make Chan happy, he not only cleaned up the surfaces, but also all the drawers.
When he was done with it, he looked around the studio. It was at least neat, but also somehow looked a bit bald and unfriendly. That's why he decided to go shopping and buy a tiny bit of decoration.
~~~
Actually, Changbin didn't like to go shopping and certainly not in the mall. Far too many people who pushed through the area between the indiscriminately arranged shops and it was still too loud.
But since Chan was coming back in three days, he didn't really have the time to order anything on the Internet.
Which was why he now death-defying, at least he thought that to himself, pushed through the crowd, on the way to the only decoration shop he knew in the mall. And only because Chan had once dragged him there to buy decoration for his apartment.
He took a deep breath before entering the store and lowered his head so as not to be approached by any seller. At least there was luck on his side and no one approached him.
Whereby he calmly walked down the gears and looked at what was sold. Far too much kitsch for his taste, but he found some things he liked.
Apart from the fluffy pillows for the couch and a vase for which he had put together a bouquet of dried flowers, a porcelain wolf had made his way into Changbin's shopping cart.
The wolf reminded him of Chan. With his big, intelligent-looking eyes and the blue-grey fur, he reminded him of a hairstyle that Chan had worn for a long time and that had made him look insanely sexy.
Smiling, he shook his head. They had flirted with each other so many times before Jisung showed up. Had teased each other and talked so often about what they would esm do with each other. Only that it had never happened. And yet the memories of it were something very special for him.
That's why a second wolf was added, because he wanted one for himself. Because no matter how the whole thing would turn out, he loved Chan with all his heart.
The feelings for Jisung were something completely new for him and made him insanely insecure. Especially because he couldn't understand how there could still be room for the younger one in his heart, when Chan had lived in there for long time.
But he had never really had the chance to fathom his feelings and understand why they were there, because he had been far too busy being jealous.
Sighing, he shook his head and continued his shopping tour.
It actually even ended up some things for his apartment in the shopping cart, because compared to Chan's apartment, his own was just boring and somehow uninviting.
After getting an iced americano, he made his way back to his car with the huge bag and drove back to the studio.
And although he was certainly not a genius when it came to decorating, he was actually quite satisfied with his work.
Yet the doubts still gnawed at him, which was why he decided that it was really time to go to the gym. Because while he pushed his body to its limits, he concentrated on doing the exercises correctly and his agitated thoughts finally came to rest.
When he later went to the showers sweaty and tired, his head was much clearer and his thoughts had finally given peace. Right now, he only had a desire for dinner and then hiding in his bed.
Freshly showered and dressed, he left the gym a short time later and steered his steps towards the elevators to get into the parking garage.
"SEO CHANGBIN!"
Changbin stopped and felt how his heart immediately started to beat faster.
He bit his lower lip and took a deep breath before turning to his manager, who looked clearly dissatisfied.
"Yes, sir?"
"Where is Chan? Have you gotten along by now?!"
Changbin swallowed. He knew pretty much exactly where Chan was and also that they hadn't got along until now. Damn, they hadn't talked a fucking word to each other since Chan had stormed out of the studio furiously.
But everything in him was reluctant to betray the older one. He wanted to protect him and not cause him even more trouble.
Which was why he hoped that their manager really had no idea and wouldn't verify his claims.
"Chan has already driven home. We have been working on a song for quite a long time the last few days and he wanted to sleep in his own bed this night," he said in such a calm, relaxed voice that he almost convinced himself of his lie.
"Oh." Surprised, their manager looked at him and finally nodded slowly. "I didn't expect that. Great, then you can show me the new song on our appointment. I'm looking forward to it." And with that he simply left the astonished Changbin and went on.
Changbin, on the other hand, just shook his head and drove into the parking garage.
Now there was even more pressure on him. Pressure that Chan needed to like the song. That they needed to record a new vision of them together. Pressure if their manager would like the song and be pleased with it.
On the way home, he pondered so much that he almost forgot to buy something to eat. Just in time, his stomach reminded him that he was hungry and he stopped briefly to buy something to eat.
But although his body was clearly hungry, his appetite had lost. The pressure weighed heavily on him and he longed to be able to talk to Chan.
The older one would certainly have been able to distract him a little and take away at least a little bit of his fear.
Nevertheless, Changbin ate about half of his dinner and then snuggled up in his bed. With the thoughts of Chan and Jisung, he finally fell into a restless sleep.
I don't know why but I'm not entirely happy with this chapter. But I'm really tired so I'll just go to sleep and we'll just move on fast to the a bit more spicy next chapters.
