Chapter 14
It was dark when he woke up again and somehow it smelled of disinfectant. Confused, he sat up and realized that he was lying in a hospital bed.
Confused, he sat up and looked around the room. Only then did he see that Chan was sitting next to his bed on a chair with his head on his arms had fallen asleep.
"Channie..." he whispered and gently stroked through Chan's hair.
He hadn't expect Chan to be with him. Well - He hadn't expect to wake up in the hospital either.
When he wanted to stretch, he noticed that an infusion tube was stuck in his arm. Confused, he rubbed his face and then gently stroked Chan's arm.
"Baby?" Chan murmured and blinked sleepily. When he saw the Jisung sitting in bed, he straightened up in surprise and smiled restrainedly. "Is everything okay...?"
At first, the younger one nodded, but then he shook his head.
"No... I didn't want to push myself between you and Changbin... and I didn't want to hurt him either, even if I don't know what I did to him," Jisung whispered sadly.
"Baby, none of this is your fault! I mean, I have no idea what's going on with him, but it's not your fault!" Chan said for sure and pulled Jisung into his arm.
Again, tears ran down his cheeks and he pressed his face against Chan's shoulder.
Chan sighed and gently stroked Jisung's back. When Jisung looked up at him with tears wet face, he gently wiped away the tears and kissed him reservedly.
Jisung hesitated for a moment, but then finally returned the kiss.
Chan's lips were warm and soft on his and somehow it felt just right to kiss him.
He buried his hands in Chan's hair and slipped as close to him as the infusion tube allowed.
When he finally detached himself from him, Jisung retreated a bit and looked at Chan thoughtfully.
"How did you even find me?" he asked thoughtfully.
"Jinnie told me in which cemetery your mum was buried...," Chan murmured and looked at him apologizing.
"Oh.. it's okay. And why am I in the hospital?"
"You were unconscious and hypothermic. The paramedics wanted to take you to the hospital to make sure everything was okay," Chan said and shrugged his shoulders.
Just when he wanted to pull Jisung back to himself, there was a knock on the door.
On Jisung's "come in" Hyunjin and Felix came running into the room, who looked quite worried.
"Little one...," Hyunjin screamed and came running to him. "Are you alright?!" he asked worriedly and pulled Jisung to himself.
Felix went over to his cousin and leaned against him. "Is everything okay?"
Chan nodded, but continues to watch Jisung and Hyunjin.
Hyunjin gently stroked Jisung's back and whispered something in his ear, which caused the younger one to smile crookedly and breathe deeply.
"Do you know when we can go?" Jisung asked him at the moment and tore Chan out of his thoughts.
"No, but I can go and ask. Lix, are you coming with me?" he asked, even if it was difficult for him. He knew very well that Hyunjin loved his cousin and he had nothing to fear, but still he was kind of jealous.
Felix nodded with a grin and followed his cousin outside.
Hyunjin sat down on the bed with Jisung and gently brushed his hair out of his face. "Do you want to tell me what happened?" he asked quietly.
"I don't know why Changbin is so mad at me... he said I just took advantage of him," Jisung whispered and leaned against the older.
"Changbin is an idiot! You didn't take advantage of him!" Hyunjin hissed. He pulled Jisung closer to him and pressed a kiss on his hair.
He sighed sadly and closed his eyes for a moment. "Jinnie I want to go home...," he murmured, but realized something the next moment. "Do I still have a home at all?"
Uncertain, Hyunjin looked at him and shrugged his shoulders. "No idea," he whispered, which didn't necessarily helped Jisung to felt better.
They sat like this for quite a while until Chan and Felix came back.
"We are lucky. There is still a doctor here and he said he'll coming right away to see how you're doing. And if everything is okay, we can go home afterwards," Chan said, smiling lovingly at Jisung.
"Thank you for asking," Jisung murmured and grabbed Chan's hand.
A short time later, a young doctor actually came into the room and stopped surprised at the sight of the four young men.
"Oh hello," he smiled politely and walked towards the bed, which led to Hyunjin jumping down and stepped aside.
He checked Jisung's vital signs and asked him some questions before he nodded contentedly.
"Everything looks okay so far. Actually, I would like to keep you here overnight, but if your friends take care of you tonight, then I can probably let you go."
"Thank you. That's very kind of you," Chan said with a smile.
"Good, I'll finish your papers and then you can go."
Jisung nodded because he didn't really know what to say. When he looked down at himself, he realized that he was wearing a hospital shirt and couldn't leave the hospital like that.
"Channie, where are my clothes?" he asked quietly.
He scrunched his face and shook his head. "Babe, your things were soaking wet, that's why they put you in a hospital shirt."
"Oh..."
Hyunjin looked at Felix and raised his eyebrows with a grin. "Well, then it's good that we brought dry clothes."
Jisung gratefully accepted the clothes. Glad that the doctor had pulled out the infusion and he could get up.
"I'll be right back," he said quietly and disappeared into the bathroom.
When he came back, the young doctor just handed Chan the papers. He smiled at Jisung as he passed by and nodded slightly. "I wish you all the best."
"Thank you," Jisung murmured and was happy to be able to leave the hospital.
"And now?" Jisung finally asked when they stood together in the elevator on the way down.
"We're going to me, I would say. Or would you rather go to Hyunjin and Felix?" Chan asked, even if he would have preferred to keep the second sentence to himself. But Felix had been of the opinion that it was important to let Jisung have a choice.
But Jisung didn't hesitate for a moment. "To you...," he whispered and leaned against Chan. Only now did he realize that the older's clothes were wet.
Chan nodded with relief.
In the meantime, it had stopped raining as they noticed with relief when they went to the parking lot.
"Maybe we'll see each other tomorrow...?" Jisung looked at Hyunjin and Felix questioningly. The two nodded with a smile and after hugging him and Chan, their ways separated.
Chan reached for Jisung's hand and pulled the younger with him to his car. They were silent, because neither of them knew what to say.
It had become evening and was already quite dark. The lights flew past them and while Chan concentrated on the street, Jisung tried to silence the thoughts in his head.
Somehow he wished that the day was just over and he could try to forget it. Try to forget what Changbin had said to him.
But he knew it wouldn't work. Every single one of his words had burned into his soul and hurt incredibly.
He had thought that he and Changbin were something like friends, but apparently the older didn't think so.
Sadly, he suppressed a sigh and stared out of the window. Again, raindrops ran down the window and the light of the many lamps was reflected in it.
But although it actually looked pretty nice, he was much more busy trying to stop his tears from rolling down his cheeks.
He didn't want to cry again.
But when Chan put a hand on his leg and looked at him sadly, everything was in vain and again the tears ran down his cheeks.
"Everything will be fine... I promise..." Chan murmured and gently brushed his thumb over Jisung's leg.
Jisung nodded and wiped away his tears.
