The movie is over, so all of us decided to go out to eat. All of us have school tomorrow, but honestly I don't think anyone of us cared much.

I don't mind learning something, but not all learning experiences take place in school. Now days school feel like a waste of time, and pointless. Teachers aren't really teaching anything, but a test.

"I promise to bring you back at a reasonable hour." James tells me once we get settled inside his car.

"I know J." I say looking at the clock to see it was seven.

"They like you a lot." James says with a laugh.

"How do you know that?" I ask leaning into my seat getting comfortable.

"They wouldn't stop talking about you when you went to the restroom." he tells me smiling.

"Sounds weird, but okay I like them too." I tell him looking at the window feeling kind of sleepy.

"You're my girlfriend though." he says grabbing my hand gently and I laugh at his possessive behavior.

"You're point?" I ask laughing when his facial expression changes.

"You're the first girl I brought around my family." he says with an awkward smile.

I honestly don't have much to say about it. I think it's cute that we are experiencing a first together.

"Relax J, you are the only guy I have ever introduced to my family." I tell him hoping he won't feel weird about me meeting his siblings.

"I don't feel weird about it, so you don't have to tell me." he says with a nervous chuckle.

It's like he was reading my thoughts, and it was getting kind of weird. Maybe James and I are meant to be.

"I want to, like to show you you're as special to me as I may be to you." I tell him after a minute of thinking about it.

"Well princess, you are pretty damn special to me." he says smiling as his orbs were still focused on the road.

"You're so corny." I tell him as I lean my head on the window to get cool.

"Only because of you." he says stopping at the stop sign.

We are almost at the buffet place, and I'm not all that hungry. Either those snacks filled me up or my period was seriously playing with me.

"J, I'm not so hungry honestly." I tell him still looking out the window.

"Is something wrong?" he asks grabbing my hand.

"No," I say as the car come to a hault.

"Promise you'll tell me if it was?" he asks taking his keys out the ignition.

"Yes sir," I say saluting him then unbuckling my seat belt.

"Well let's go turn up before we have to go back to hell." he says unblucking his seat belt and jumping out the car keys in hand.

"Listen hear young man school is important if you want to get somewhere in life." I say getting out the car with a serious tone.

"You're something else you know that?" he asks laughing as he puts his arm around my shoulder.

"Good or bad?" I ask sliding my arm around his torso.

"Good, for sure Chloe." he says kissing my forehead and that's when everyone else arrives.

"Hey lovers." I hear Jason yell as they cross the rode to meet us.

"Y'all ready to eat?" Matthew asks with his hand interwined with Violet's.

"I'm coming for you baby!" Heaven yells running towards the restaurant doors.

"You're so dramatic." James says to her but little did he know I was going to run right along with her.

"Walk faster!" she yells turning back to us.

People are giving us weird stares, and it honestly makes me feel normal.

"I see that look in your eye, so I give you permission." James says showing off his gorgeous smile.

"Yay!" I say swiftly kissing his cheek running over to Heaven.

"Finally someone who gets it." Heaven says looping her arm with mine.

"Yes, now let's show these ladies how it's done." I say referring to the guys.

"Show time!" she says as we walk into the buffet line.

It wasn't a long line, but there were a few people in front of us. I wasn't as hungry as I would usually be for a buffet, but I really wanted some of there frozen yogurt.

"I'm guessing you're hungry now." James says making me turn around.

"Not really, but I couldn't leave Heaven alone." I told him grabbing his hand.

"You really are sweet you know?" he says lacing our fingers together.

"Never heard that before, but thanks J." I say with a small smile as we go up in line.

"How many?" the male employee at the register asks Matthew who was now in front of all of us.

"Six." he answers after he looked back for a minute.

"Okay that will be seventy-five dollars." the man says as it lights up on the cash register.

"Hey, I can chip in to pay since you did pay for the movies." James says fishing for his wallet out of his pants pocket.

"No, I got it." Matthew says paying the man.

"Okay, right this way." the man says leading us to a table for six.

"Thank you." we so say taking a seat.

"Someone will be right back to get your drink orders." the man says going back to the entrance.

"Thanks Matthew." I say taking my backpack off.

"No problem anything for family." he says looking at James.

James seemed to tense at Matthew's choice of words. I hope he is okay, and not thinking of what transpired with his mother and supposed father.

"Hello I'm Diana I'll be your server today. What would you like to drink?" this lady with straight brown hair asks coming up to our table.

"Chloe, what do you want?" James asks lowly.

"Water." I tell him as everyone orders.

"Um, water for the two of us." James says to the lady.

"Okay, I'll be right back with those drinks." Diana says walking away.

"James, can I talk to you?" Matthew asks standing up James shrugs.

"I'll be right back." James says kissing my forehead getting up.

James' Pov:

"What's up Matt?" I ask once we make it to a secluded area.

"They finally told you didn't they?" he asks looking at me curiously.

"So you knew that your dad wasn't mine, and didn't tell me?" I ask him with gritted teeth.

"I over heard one day, and I tried telling you." he says with a look I couldn't decipher.

"You just should have told me, but instead I heard it from people who don't even seem to care about my well being." I tell him tears in the brim of my eyes. I was ready to get Chloe and leave.

"I would never be able to repay you, but it wasn't my secret to tell. I love you with every fiber in my body. I would never hurt you, but apparently I just did. I'm truly sorry J." he says with a look of sorrow and guilt.

"It's not your fault, but you could have told me. I'd much rather hear it from someone who cares about my existence." I tell him trying not to think of the things both my mother and "father" said about me to my face.

I could only imagine what they said behind my back. I didn't ask to be in this world ya know?

"I got your back all the time little brother, and I'm truly sorry that you're going through this." he tells me pulling me into a hug.

"I will get through it don't worry just another obstacle in the way of brighter things." I tell him ending the embrace.

"We better head back to the table, so we all can go eat." he says looking at me for confirmation, so I nod.

"Yeah,your girlfriend must be worried sick." I say jokingly trying to lighten the mood.

"Speaking of girlfriends, I think you've got yourself a good one." he tells me with a smile.

"Yeah, she really is amazing." I say looking at her.

She was looking at her lap probably bored out of her mind.

"Sorry about that." Matt says while grabbing Violet's hand helping her onto her feet.

"Finally can we go get our food now?" Heaven asks and Chloe laughs.

"I'm surprised you haven't left already." Matthew says laughing.

"Oh shut up." Heaven says walking away from the table.

"Chloe, you okay?" I ask looking at her body language and facial expression as she gets up.

She didn't look happy, but she didn't seem upset either. I wonder is it cramps, or did something happen.

"Um, yeah what about you?" she asks standing in front of me looking in my eyes.

Wow, never did I think I'd be falling for someone this fast. Every little thing she does makes me adore her even more.

"I'll be okay as long as I got you." I say knowing she will end up calling me corny.

"Well, today must be your lucky day because you have my undivided attention." she says still staring into my eyes with her beautiful brown ones.

"I know you aren't feeling so well, so how about I take care of you?" I ask  her wrapping my arms around her waist thinking of spending the night with her in my arms again.

I don't know I guess I just felt safe. I know girls are the ones that are supposed to feel like that, but she's the one I confine in.

I know this is our last year of high school, but I want her in my future. I need her to be.

"How would you do that?" she ask resting her head full of curls on my chest.

"Staying with you in my arms, and don't lie we both know it helps." I tell her.

Throughout the whole day everytime I would wrap my arms around her or hold her she would loosen up.

"Always have to be such a know it all." she says looking up and sticking out her tounge.

"You know it, so what's your answer?" I ask looking down at her beautiful face.

"Yeah, but where's your sister going?" she asks and I stop.

"I don't know I think she's going home." I tell her and she gives me a confused expression.

"Well we can drop her off, so you can get some clothes for school tomorrow." she says to me and I just nod.

"Let's go eat before these crumb-snatchers eat it all." I say and she laughs.

"It's a buffet babe I don't think you can run out." she says grabbing my hand as we go to the area containing the plates and silverware.

Sometime has passed by, and all of us are pretty much full.

"School tomorrow, so let's get going." Jason says getting up after he places a generous tip on the table.

"Responsible now?" Heaven asks and everyone cracks a smile.

"I see you got jokes," he says stepping in front of her small frame.

"Yeah, so let's go you dork." she says walking out of the restaurant with everyone in tow.

"Heaven, this is not a game young lady look both ways before crossing the street." Jason says in a fatherly tone making me laugh because that's exactly what Chloe did not too long ago.

"It was nice seeing you,  and meeting you Chloe." Violet says hugging both Chloe and I.

We already discussed the car arrangements. Jason would be dropped off by Matt and Violet, and Heaven would be riding with us.

"I'll see you tomorrow." I hear Jason say to Heaven before giving her a hug.

I would be going crazy if it were anyone else touching my little sister, but it's Jason and he wouldn't hurt her.

"It won't take too long," I say to Chloe when we both are in the car.

"Okay," she says buckling up when Heaven gets in the car.

The car ride was silent except for the radio playing. It was about 9:45 when we reached our destination. My mother's car was in the driveway, so this probably wouldn't end well.

"It was great meeting you Chloe; we have to hang out sometime." Heaven says getting out the car.

"I'll be back princess." I tell her getting out the car opening the front door with my key.

"Why are you home so-s late?" my mother asks slurring her words.

She was drunk, so I did what I thought was best for my sister and I'm safety.

"Go get your clothes for school, and some night clothes." I told Heaven and she immediately disappears into her room.

"I asked y-you a question b-boy." she says trying keep her balance.

"Mom, maybe you should get some sleep." I tell her walking closer to her.

I reach for her hand, but she quickly snatches it back almost falling.

"Don't touch me you're just a worthless piece of shit." she manages to say and I bite the inside of my cheek.

I walk away from her, and into my room to grab some clothes. Her words did hurt, but she isn't in her right mind. At least that's what I hope because people say a drunk man's words is a sober man's thoughts.

"You ready Heaven?" I ask walking out of my room to see her with her black and white stripped backpack.

"Yeah," she says walking to the front door when my mother stops her.

"Where do you think you're going?" she asks looking at Heaven who's eyes are almost out of their sockets.

"Go to the car." I tell her walking to the door as well.

"I love you mom," I say closing and locking the door before she can say anything else.

I walk to the car, and pop open my trunk throwing my things in there.

"You okay?" Chloe asks me when I get in the car.

"Honestly I don't know," I say putting the car in reverse driving of to her sister's apartment.
