"Her what?" my mom asks her eyes almost popping out her head.

"My boyfriend." I tell her coming from behind James looking at my mother.

"I didn't know you had a boyfriend." she says looking at James curiously then back at me.

"Are we going to talk it out or not mom because I can go." I say annoyed by her reaction.

"Sorry." she says stepping to the side allowing James and I to walk in.

"Hey, it's okay just relax." James says grabbing my hand as we walk over to the living room.

"Thanks lover boy." Penn says coming from the kitchen nearly scaring me to death.

"So everyone except me knew you were dating?" my mom asks finally coming into the living room taking a seat.

"Mom, they barely started dating." Penn says defending me.

"Oh." she says dumbfounded.

I don't understand why she is so shocked about me dating someone.

"Once again I can leave," I tell her ready to walk away because I really just wanted to be left alone not talking about my feelings.

"Babe, chill let's just sit down. Once everything is done I promise we can leave, and get ice cream if you want." James says whispering in my ear.

"Of course I want ice cream." I tell him and he laughs causing them to stare at us more.

"Lovebirds, take a seat in ready to get this over with I got things to do." my sister tells us making me smile while going to take a seat.

"So, I found out around the time you went with your sister." my mom says sitting down on the couch.

"Found out what exactly?" I ask wanting a clearer explanation.

"You're uncle found me in the store not too long ago, and told me you're father called him." my mom says fidgeting in her seat.

"Why didn't he call you or us?" Penn asks looking puzzled.

"I guess he wanted Tom to be able to protect us like we need." my mom says looking a little confused herself.

"Well he's the one that's been texting me?" Penny asks trying to piece everything together.

"Maybe, I honestly don't know." my mom says.

"Where's dad?" I ask my mom. I don't really care all that much about anything else. He's all I'm honestly worried about in this situation.

"If I knew trust me I'd tell you. I need him just as much as you do." she tells me looking at me then down at the ground.

"You said something about Chris mom. What part does he play in this?" Penny asks looking irritated.

"Well, the other day I seen these papers with your dad's name on it. I was curious to know why his name was in Chris' briefcase. I looked in there, and I seen photos of you, Chloe and me. The pictures were old. I didn't even know him then, and I didn't think he knew me. It's like he's been watching us this whole time your father's been gone." mom answers with sadness and anger.

"Did you confront him?" I ask her curiously.

"Yeah, when I tried to talk to him about it he just told me I don't know what I was talking about. I tried to get him to explain, but he hit me." she tells us and that's when both Penny and I lose it.

"I can't believe this," Penny says through gritted teeth.

"Where is he at?" I ask calmy, but honestly I was furious.

Who the hell he think he is putting his hands on my mom? Stalking us?

"He went out of town for business." my mom answers.

"Alright." I say getting off the couch walking towards my mom.

I thought about it for a while. She's been through a lot. She lost the love of her life, married a lunatic and was trying not to lose her kids.

She stands up to unaware of what my intentions were. I'd never hurt her, but with the way I've been acting I'd see why she would react that way.

"Thank you mom: for everything. I know you're just doing the best you can. I'm truly sorry for my actions." I whisper in her ear wrapping my arms around her short frame.

She almost immediately hugged back, and not too long after Penny joins.

"Got your back mom through whatever. We'll get through this." Penny says breaking the embrace.

Before I let go I kissed my mom on her cheek, and wiped her stray tears.

"I love y'all forever and always." she says with a faint smile.

"I love you too." both Penny and I say at the same time.

That's when I remembered James was here. I looked over at where he was sitting, and seen him smiling at me.

"Mom, if you want we can go somewhere and you can spend the night at my apartment." Penny offers with almost pleading eyes.

"I'd love to." she says smiling like a Cherishe cat which makes me laugh.

"Great, I'll wait for you while you get your things." Penny says grabbing her keys off the counter while our mom walks towards her room.

"J, can I have my ice cream now?" I ask smiling as I walk over to him.

"Of course, just as long as your back to hang out with your sister and mom." he tells me chuckling as he gets up.

"Penn, I'm going to hang out with J for a bit I'll be there in time to chill with you and mom." I tell Penny once I make it to her car James right behind.

"Okay, be careful sis." she says.

"Will do." I tell her saluting and walking to James car.

"I'm really proud of you babygirl." James tells me once we get in the car and down the road.

"Why?" I ask him a little taken back.

"I seen how angry you got, but you decided not to act on it." he tells me looking at me then back at the road.

"Thanks for being there for me J. I wouldn't have even been there if it wasn't for you." I tell him looking at his profile.

He is beautiful inside and out, but that's what people didn't see. He is extremely caring, funny and smart. I'm falling and there's really no way out now.

"Maybe I'll get the courage to talk to my mom." he mumbles.

"I know you will. Just one step at a time babe." I tell him with a smile.

"With you by my side I'm sure I can." he says smiling as he parks the car.

"ICE CREAM!!!" I scream getting out the car hastily.

"Someone's happy." James says laughing walking over to me.

"Yes sir." I say grabbing his hand and dragging him into the ice cream parlor.

"Slow down Princess." James says chuckling.

"Can't babe need ice cream, and I need it now." I tell him as we walk into the place.

"Welcome to Ms.Gerdie's Place. Ready to order?" An employee named Jesse asks when he sees us.

"You know what you want princess?" James asks me and I smirk.

"Of course babe I'm a pro." I say stepping in front of him James.

"I would like cookies and cream, sprinkles, with chocolate syrup in a cone." I tell the guy smiling at my choice.

"You sir?" the guy asks James.

"Same thing, but without the sprinkles." James tells him taking his wallet out.

"That will be five dollars and fifty cents." Jesse says ringing us up and J pulls out a ten.

"Your change is four dollars and fifty cents." Jesse says trying to give J his change back.

"It's not much, but it's yours." James says not taking the money.

"Thanks man." the guy says going to fix our ice creams.

"Here you go, have a good evening you guys." he says with a smile.

"You too." James says while I just waved as I continue eating my ice cream.

"Baby, let's walk around." J says grabbing the hand that wasn't occupied.

"Mhm." I answer gawking at the amazing sight, my ice cream.

"You like that ice cream more than me babe?" James asks dramatically as we walk down the street.

"Kind of, but I like you a whole lot babe." I tell J squeezing his hand.

"You have ice cream all over your face." he says laughing as he let's go of my hand.

"Oh." I respond as I go to get it off.

"Let me get it," J says taking my face in his hands.

He licks the side of my mouth and then my lips.

"Eww J." I say wiping my mouth with the sleeve of my jacket.

"You know you like it." he says with a smirk licking his ice cream cone.

"Just eat your ice cream boy." I tell him laughing as I finish off my ice cream.

"Will do my girl." he says finishing off his ice cream throwing it in the trash can we passed by.

"So, what you doing tonight?" I ask him being the nosey person I am.

"I'm not sure." he says shrugging his shoulders.

"I wish you could stay with me, but you know." I tell stopping so he wouldn't keep walking.

"Tired?" he asks looking at me.

"I'm a G I don't get tired." I tell him and he just laughs.

"Come on sleepy head I'll take you home." he says picking me up like a baby.

"I can walk sir." I tell him trying to get out of his grip.

"I know, but I got a nice view." he says and I know he means my small behind.

"I'll fight you right here babe don't play." I tell him making him put me down and square up.

"Bring it on cutie." he says and I start laughing because he's weird just like me.

"You goofy." I tell him through my laughter.

"It's a gift babygirl. Now let's get you home." he tells me grabbing my hand walking us back to the car.

I think he knows when I'm tired I like to make a lot of jokes, so I just get in the car once he opens the door.

"Go to sleep babygirl." he says so I just close my eyes and let lala land take over.

"You're the best person I have ever met. I love you so much, and I'm glad I can call you mine." A guy with tan skin, beautiful brown eyes and gorgeous long brown hair says to me. I immediately recognize it as James.

"You're my rock, and I love you to the moon and back baby. I'm glad we're getting married soon." a person in a red sun dress says. Oh my that's me. I look good.

"Baby, wake up we're here." James says waking me up.

"Five more minutes J." I tell him trying to to back to that beautiful dream.

"No ma'am let's go." he says getting out of the car coming over to my side.

"Baby please." I pout once he opens the car door.

"Come here." he says and I get out my seat hesitantly.

"Jump up." he tells me holding out his arms and I do as he says.

"Now you're really my baby." J says locking the car doors and walking towards my sister's place.

"Keys." I tell him getting my keys out my pocket and he takes it.

"Where's my goodnight kiss?" he asks when we make it to the door.

"In the trash." I tell him laughing.

"Okay I'm going to go check." he says placing me on my feet acting like he was about to leave.

"Wait," I tell him grabbing his arm making him turn around.

I stand on my tippy toes and kiss his right cheek then his left one.

"Such a tease." he says smiling at me.

"Oh hush." I say grabbing his face kissing his nose then his soft pink lips.

Just like in the fairytales I feel fireworks.

"Goodnight baby." he says after we pull apart.

"Night call when you are settled someone, so I know you're ok." I tell him taking my keys back.

"Will do." he says pecking my lips one last time before walking away.

Oh James you don't know what you're doing to me. I mumble to myself opening the door walking into the apartment.

"Who's ready to party?" I ask walking into the apartment with a smile on my face.
