"Melissa?" James asks as he stops and looks at me.

"Yes, her." I tell him watching as his face twists in confusion.

"Why do you want her to go to the party with us?" he asks looking at me as if he could get see through me.

"I wanted to make peace, and it's Saturday." I told him with a smile looking at the playground.

"Okay, lil girl." he says with a smirk on his face because he knows I hate that.

"J, don't make me hurt you." I threaten as I take steps closer towards him.

"I'd like to see you try sweetheart." he says sticking his tongue out at me.

"Well your wish is about to come true honey." I mumble as he begans to run away from me.

"Why you running J?" I teased as I run after him with my hair going in every direction.

"Because I want to lil girl." he says as he stops at a tree that's further away from where we once were.

Once he uttered those words again I ran towards him and jumped on his body. Maybe not the smartest plan since I fell right along with him.

"Very smart princess." he tells me as he sits up with me still on him.

"Whatever J, you deserved it." I say not making any move to get up.

"Not that I mind, but why are you still on me?" he asks placing his hands on the ground to hold both of us up.

As soon as he said that I unwrapped myself from his body.

"What time is it?" I ask him trying to divert his attention from what just happened.

"It's 2:35." he says holding out his phone for me to see.

"Wanna get something to eat before the party?" I ask him hoping he'll agree.

"Aww is Little Miss Sunshine slung Mr on a date?" he asks with a smirk on his face.

"Nu uh you ain't my type." I say laughing at his fake shocked face.

"Sweetheart I'm everyone's type." he says getting off the ground.

"Shut up and answer the question." I say laughing at him.

"Oh my gosh girl I just got asked out what should I say?" he asks pretending to be on his phone.

"Come on J I'm hungryy." I whine.

"Okay it's a date." he says picking me up and running towards his car.

Skipping to the restaurant

"Babe what chu want?" James yells from the line at McDonald's.

"Stop yelling ole ugly boy." I say walking towards him.

"Such a mean girl, no food for you." he says looking at the menu.

"Excuse miss I will like I number 1 with a sprite please." I tell her and she did what I asked.

"Thank you J." I say laughing as I kiss his cheek and walk back to our booth.

~James Pov~

"Number 19!" a employee calls out so I walk towards her.

"Thank you." I tell her as I grab our food about to walk to Chloe when someone bumps into me.

"Shit." I mumble because I almost dropped our food. I looked up to see a little boy that look sort of like Chloe.

"Christian!" I hear a deep voice yell as he enters the place.

The kid walks toward the man looking as if he were about to cry.

I try to ignore the fact that he looks identical to Chloe. I walk back to the table when suddenly I'm stopped by the man with the kid.

"Excuse me I'm trying to get to my table." I say trying to be polite.

"Sorry for the kid bumping into you." he says looking at me then at where Chloe was.

"It's fine sir." I say about to walk to the table before the food gets any colder.

"She looks just like her mother." the guy mumbles.

What the hell? I swear this is really strange. I need to get to Chloe.

"I got to go bye." I say then walk off before the food gets colder than it already is.

"What took you so long J?" she asks with a frown.

"That guy and his kid." I say pointing towards the people I just encountered.

"Oh my..." she says before she turns back towards me.

"What?" I ask curious as to why she reacted like that.

"That man is my uncle." she whispers with her head down.

"Really?" I ask. No wonder the kid looked a little like her.

"J can we take our food to go." she asks while playing with her fingers a bit.

"Whatever you want princess." I say looking at her telling something was wrong.

"Come on." I say grabbing her hand after I put our food into a bag.

Instead of pulling away from me she actually interwine our fingers.

I swear I'm falling for this girl. I haven't felt this way about anyone before. I know it's cliché to that, but it's true.

It's not even about her looks for me it's her personality. Just talking to her or making her laugh makes my day.

"I'm sorry J I feel like I always mess things up with us." she says looking at me and then at our hands.

"So there's an us?" I ask with a wink trying to make her laugh.

"You wish." she says laughing lightly and she is right I do want her to be mines.

"You the only one denying it princess." I say stopping in front of my car.

"What you mean?" she ask acting oblivious.

"You know I want to be with you." I tell her placing the food on top of my car.

"Why do you want that J?" she asks looking confused and a little nervous.

"Because I love being around you, I like how serious yet playful you can be. You're just someone I can see myself with."

"J, I don't want to end up like all these people. They think there gonna be together forever when the other just winds up leaving." she says her eyes watering.

You can tell by her eyes that she's been through a lot, but I wouldn't leave her. I don't see myself doing that to her.

"I can't promise that we will be together forever, but I will never leave you. If we don't work out I'll always be here for you. I'm just asking for you to give us a chance." I say untangling our hands, so I can wrap my arms around her waist.

"Promise J?" she asks holding out her pinky and I can't help but smile.

"I promise princess." I say grabbing her pinky and kissing it.

"Eww J don't do that I don't know where your lips been." she says laughing.

"I know where they're about to be." I mumble while I lean in to kiss her.

"Food is getting colder by the minute J." she says laughing as she pecks my cheek.

"Oh wow Chloe real mature!" I yell as we both get in the car.
