Since this is my first ever story based on The Hunger Games series written by Suzanne Collins (all rights go to her, I do not own the characters), I would like to explain a few things. First of all, this book will be full of Everlark one shots before and after marriage, taking place after Mockingjay and once everything in District 12 is rebuilt. There will be no smut and no spice, I am not about that, but there will be an abundant amount of fluff, love, and angst, though nothing too heartbreaking. Second of all, I will try my best to make sure all the characters stay in character but there may be some scenes where they act just a bit OOC, but I will try my best to stray away from that. Lastly, all my information is coming from the books, not the movies, so if you've only seen the movies, don't worry, I'll explain a few things below: 

First, I'm just going to go through the characters that I'll be using, describing their appearances (because I imagine most of them as the fanart, not as the actors in the movies) and personalities in the books (though they're not far off in the movies). I did research on these so they're accurate: 

Katniss Everdeen (Mellark): Long black hair, olive skin, and grey eyes. She's on the shorter/skinnier side. She's known as athletic, strong, courageous, cool headed during reasoning, stubborn, and introverted. She prefers to be alone in the woods, hunting, rather than in a large crowd during a social event. Wife of Peeta. 

Peeta Mellark: Ashy blond hair (shaggy) that falls over his forehead, paler skin, and blue eyes. He's medium height (just a bit taller than Katniss) and skinny but has a stocky build. Peeta is known as caring and selfless, loves children. He's a baker and husband of Katniss. 

Gale Hawthorne: Dark hair, olive skin, and grey eyes like Katniss. Tall (kind of towers over Peeta and Katniss) and more muscular than Peeta. He's two years older than Katniss and Peeta. He's known as stubborn, a bit temperamental, and gets jealous easily, but he's got some kindness in there too. 

Haymitch: Blond, blue eyes, pale. He's sweet but gets angry easily due to his drinking problem. Develops fatherly feelings for Katniss and Peeta.  

Effie: Pink hair (I couldn't find eye color. Blue?). She's wealthy and holds power of the government, and shes also perky. Develops motherly feelings towards Peeta and Katniss. 

Johanna Mason: Brown wide set eyes, short and spiky brown hair. She's known as attractive, sly, and perceptive, pert, difficult, and great at deception. 

Annie Odair: Flowing red hair, sea green eyes. She's described as lovely and sweet. 

(now these are Everlark's kids that I've made up personalities for)

Willow Prim Mellark: Dark hair, olive skin, and blue eyes. She's sweet, yet stubborn and enjoys hunting like her mother. But once in a while she'll find herself in the bakery with her father. 

Rye Finnick Mellark: Blond curly hair, grey eyes, and pale skin. Sweet and selfless just like his father but still holds a stubborn streak like his mother. He also enjoys baking but finds himself joining his mom and sister to hunt. 

Okay, now that that's out of the way, I previously mentioned that everything I'm mentioning is coming from the books, and some things were left out of the movies. So for the people who have only seen the movies, I really advise you read this so you'll understand more: 

-After the 74th Hunger Games, Peeta's left leg was amputated and he now uses a prosthetic. 

-Peeta has been in love with Katniss since they were five (I don't know if that was mentioned in the movies or not. I haven't seen them in a while).

-Katniss started falling in love with Peeta during Catching Fire (I think that was obvious in the movies as well but I thought I'd mention it here as well). 

-Katniss only had "romantic" feelings for Gale when she was in pain, mourning over the loss of Peeta, or needed a distraction. Poor Gale. (Again, this might have been obvious in the movies but just in case...)

-Gale did help design/make the bombs that killed Prim. Even though he didn't know she would die, he's still partially responsible for hundreds of deaths. 

-Gale left for District 2 for a military job without saying goodbye. 

-Gale told Peeta that Katniss will choose whomever she cannot live without, which so happened to be Peeta in the end. Yay! (again, I don't remember if this was said in the movies, it probably was but just in case.)

-Gale says it's not much different killing humans than it is animals, while Peeta says that killing innocent people costs everything you are.

-It took 5-15 years for Peeta to persuade Katniss into starting a family. (I find that hilarious and I don't really understand why).

-Their daughter is older than their son.

-Peeta still has flashbacks years later where he has to grip the back of a chair until they pass.

-Peeta's family died in the bombing of district 12 

-The reason Katniss chose Peeta was not only because Gale had helped design those bombs, but because "Peeta and I grow back together. There are still moments when he clutches the back of a chair and hangs on until the flashbacks are over. I wake up screaming from nightmares of mutts and lost children. But his arms are there to comfort me. And eventually his lips. On the night I feel that thing again, the hunger that overtook me on the beach, I know this would have happened anyway. That what I need to survive is not Gale's fire, kindled with rage and hatred. I have plenty of fire myself. What I need is the dandelion in the spring. The bright yellow that means rebirth instead of construction. The promise that life can go on, no matter how bad our losses. That it can be good again. And only Peeta can give me that."  (Mockingjay Epilogue. Page 492-493) And also because, you know, she fell in love with him. 

Well, that's that! I hope this helps for upcoming chapters that I'll be writing very shortly. Just remember that these don't go in any specific order so one chapter could be with their kids while the next his them not even married. If you don't like my story, it's okay, just don't leave hate and find a different one. Anyways, I hope you enjoy what's coming up!
