Dabi was once kidnapped by the League. But he managed to escape mostly unscathed, and ended up setting fire to the entire area he was in, causing the League to retreat. During this time, he found Toga and picked her up, taking her back with him to help get her out of that life.

Him and her stayed in contact after he left the League cause they were so close and she confided in him that she was starting to fear Shigaraki as he slowly gained power.

Kai was surprised to see Toga in his living room after returning with Hawks in an attempt to rescue the innocent people in the burning buildings caused by Dabi. He was upset with his hisband but was actually more worried than upset and did not want to argue with Dabi in front of Toga.

She now lives with them and helps babysit Eri when the two of them are out. Kai has thought about wanting to adopt her as their other child, despite her basically being an adult, but has not told Dabi this.
