Chapter One

I lay peacefully on Hyrule's soft ground, the vast land sprawling out before me. Rich green grass covered the land, crawled mountains, spread around tall trees, and sprouted from the moist ground and prickled my skin.

The sun's vibrant rays of light danced on the horizon as it started setting. However my blue eyes were focusing on the fluffy white clouds floating across the orange sky like a dragon drifting across the land.

All that filled my ears were my shakey breaths and rustling leaves from the whistling wind whipping past them and blowing my light brown hair. It started to put my mind at ease, just listening to nature's sound and I finnaly closed my eyes but that was a mistake.

In the blackness filling my mind Zelda was there and Gannon was dragging her away. I opened my eyelids quickly. I didn't know why it was still happening, he was gone, sealed away from sword that sealed the darkness yet he still haunted me.

Horse hooves covered the thoughts and forced me to sit up to see a beautiful pure white horse standing before me and stomping it's big hooves causing dust to fume up in my face.

I choked on the dust and stood up and waved it away from my face. The horse wore royal tack custom fit for him. He was beautiful but his rider was even more beautiful.

"Hey sleepy head!" she teased me as she hoped off her horse, her shiny blond hair flowing beautifully just like a golden waterfall.

"What are you doing here? Don't you have a castle to run or something?" I asked softly and forced myself to look at my dusty boots. "Or am I still your appointed knight?"

"Well...not really silly, Ganon's gone, quit being so jumpy over that! Well anyway don't you wanna come to the castle? I mean you sorta just disappeared and never really talked to me, so I thought maybe we could catch up." The Princess said to me and lifted my chin.

"If you insist. Your majesty" I said through my teeth and still didn't bother looking into her gorgeous emerald orbs.

I saw Zelda frown at me in the corner of my eye but she didn't say anything, which honestly suprised me.

"Alright come on!" She exclaimed impatiently when she got on her tall white horse.

I reluctantly hoped on behind her, and she kicked him firmly to get a move on across the now somewhat peacefull Hyrule.

I don't completely understand what was wrong with me but it bothered me to have our selves so close together. I just always thought my nightmares and visions about me losing her would come true so I decided to stay away from her as much as I could, but what could I do now?

However the sunset was almost as beautiful as Zelda as it cast down further and further making the land get darker and darker. The horse's hooves danced in a beat that lead my mind to ease as Nature had done before.

We had finnaly come to a stop in front of Hyrule Castle's great gate. We got off and a soldier lead the horse to its proper stable which seemed nicer than my own house in Hateno Village. The guards that guarded the great gate bowed slightly to the princess as we walked down the open room and up to a balcony with nice furniture and pots and decor despite the damage from Ganon that was still being rebuilt.

I took a seat near the edge of the balcony and found my self staring at the shining moon rising over us. It was so releaving to see that it wasn't another horrible blood moon. My eyes took all of it in, I had always been questionable whether I would see a blood moon or a normal looking moon. I had never liked the sight of the blood moon, it shook me especially since I knew it was only making this world more dangerous. But now it's glowing brighter than it ever has.

"Liiiiiink???" Zelda apparently had been trying to talk to me and I had no idea.

My mind snapped back to reality and I looked over my shoulder to see her waving her hand in face.

"Sorry...um, taking in the scenery...I guess" I answered her finnaly and looked at my hands.

"Are you okay?" She asked me in her sweet young voice.

"Uh, yeah just not used to seeing a normal moon yet" I still stared at my hands when I said this but she pushed my head by the chin so I could face her.

"You look so disappointed...I thought you would be happy to see me." She looked straight into my soft blue eyes and grasped my hands with hers.

"I am..." but I had nothing else to say to her, I was out of words.
She frowned then pulled me through the door and sat me on her bed.

"Where is the Link I used to know? The one who always smiled and was always happy to see me and his friends and the ones he's helped? I know he's in there!" She said to me and pulled my hair back from out of my face. "Somewhere deep in those blue eyes of yours...the link I knew 100 years ago and the one who saved me from Calamity Gannon and the champions' spirits!"

I hated what she said, it just made me feel worse about myself and everything around me. Maybe she was right. Maybe the real me wasn't here. I swallowed hard and thought about everything that had happened over my quest to save Hyrule, but that Link was gone. Almost as if it was lost along with Ganon from the powerful Goddess Sword.

"... everything's changed...I don't know how I feel anymore! That! That Link is gone!" I stuttered over my word choice but I didn't care one bit. I jolted out of the room and back to my house where I could let darkness consume me.
