Chapter 6
- Rowan's Point of View -
"Alright honey, right this way." The friendly old lady told me.
"Thank you." I smiled.
"I appreciate it."
"No problem hon. You look like you haven't had a decent clean up in a while."
"Traveling's hard work. I didn't have much time to worry about this mess." I laughed, holding up my ratted sandy-blonde hair.
"Alright. I'll leave you to it. Once you're done you can come down stairs for a nice home cooked meal."
"I wouldn't want to miss out on that. Thank you for everything."
She left the room and I immediately set to work filling the tub with nice hot water. I had come to castle Locksley, saying I needed a job. The old lady at the back door had immediately stretched out her arms to me, telling me that the first thing I needed was a good bath. So I jumped at the opportunity. It was nice, having a bath. I hadn't had one in such a long time I had almost forgotten. After that it took me almost a half hour to comb out all the rats nests in my hair. It was probably a little longer then my shoulders, not a whole lot of trouble, but when I ran away I didn't exactly have time to think about bringing a hairbrush. I didn't bother to put it up because I felt more free when it hung loose. I quickly changed into my extra clothes that Mrs. McCartney (The old lady) had kindly washed for me. It was just a pair of pants, a brown shirt, a deer skin jerkin, and a pair of soft leather boots. I preferred the boots that didn't have hard souls because when you're sneaking around in the forest you can feel the twigs that will snap, before you actually step on them. After that I quickly ran down a flight of stairs and into a long hallway. I realized that it was probably later then I had anticipated and started to sort of jog through the halls, in order to not be late. While I was on my way there I passed by a tall girl with brown hair who appeared to be slightly angry, but still trying to hold it in. I didn't really pay attention though. I had to get to the kitchen quickly.

- Callum's Point of View -
I knew it wasn't very forgiving of me, but I put that man's face in the oatmeal, and I'd do it again if given the chance. Em had gone through a lot, and she didn't deserve to be treated like that. Even if he hadn't directed it towards her, he was thinking about her when he said it. I could tell by the way he quickly glanced at her when he said it. I ran right after her, through the halls....And accidently crashing into a girl with sandy hair.
"I am so sorry." She said, with a small smile.
"Oh no, it's okay. It was entirely my fault. I was rushing too much, even after Mrs. McCartney told me not to."
Then she flashed me a real smile, showing all her white teeth and a dimple on either cheek. Then she rushed off again. I was just about to make my way when I realized, I hadn't seen that girl around here before. Oh well, I thought. I haven't been here long enough to tell.

- Emmalina's Point of View -
I crashed through the door of the library and closed it behind me, immediately running to the balcony. I took a deep breath, letting it out shakily. Stay calm Em, I told myself. Just because he's ignorant, and an idiot, and mean, and shouldn't say those things...Doesn't mean he's...A bad person. Alright, maybe he's a bad person now, but that doesn't mean he can't changed. I found it extremely difficult to think of him as a good person, but I had to try.
"Hey, Em." Came Callum's quiet voice from behind me.
I turned my head to tell him that I had heard him, then turned it back, leaning against the railing.
"You okay?"
"Yeah...I'm fine. I just need I little air." I said, giving him a sad attempt at a smile.
I didn't look him in the eye for fear that he might see what I was thinking. He had a tendency to do that.
"I know what you're thinking." He voiced my fears.
"You do?" I said, still not daring to look at him.
"Look, you never tell me anything. Every time something happens to you, you just...run off! You never talk to me about it. Or anyone else, for that matter."
"I never tell you anything? What about yesterday? You said you had something urgent to tell me and then you just chicken out."
Oopsy!
"Alright. You're right. I should've told you right then and there, but it's so hard to find the words. Trust me, I wanted to tell you. I just..." He trailed off.
"You just, what? Callum, am I not trust worthy? If you'd just tell me, I wouldn't be mad at you. It makes me feel worse if you don't tell me."
"No!" He hastened to reassure me.
"It's not that at all. It's just that...Well, I'm just a big coward afraid of how you might react."
"React to what?"
"You know how that man in there who practically just stabbed every orphan you've ever known with a knife?"
"Yeah?"
"Well...I smashed his face into his oatmeal."
"Callum! You didn't?"
I couldn't believe my ears. Callum, the nicest, sweetest, Catholic boy I have ever known, smashed a guy's head, who's ten times bigger then him, into oatmeal.
"I'm sorry, but I'm a bit impulsive."
"Don't be. To tell you the truth, I was pretty close to doing it myself."
"Seriously?"
"Yeah." I laughed.

- Callum's Point of View -
I felt bad, turning her mind away from the subject like that, but I didn't have the right words to say it. It was intense and somewhat scary. If she reacted like I thought she would, I could be running for the hills.
- Sorry for the slow updates guys, but it's been really hectic with Easter and all. I hope you enjoyed this chapter as much as I enjoyed writing it. I'm getting the strangest feeling that some of you know what I'm up to. Am I right? I would like to know what you guys think is going to happen. Of course, if you don't want to do all that predicting stuff, then you don't have to. I'll appreciate you just the same as I always have. Thanks :D - Anna
