Chapter 3
- Emmalina's Point of View -
"THEN FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE TELL ME!!!" I said calmly...Not.
He looked at me for a second and I could see he was contemplating something. But what?
"I..." He started.
"Em I...I can't." And he got up and started to walk away.
I wasn't giving up that easily. I got up and went after him.
"Callum, what's wrong?" I asked, grabbing his shoulder.
"Em...You just...I'm sorry Em."
He tore away from me and walked out the door, slamming it behind him. I stood there, not moving, not saying anything, my eyes wide open. I finally looked down at my hands and walked back to the staircase, sitting down on the old creaky steps. People rarely came up here and I was free from any chance of being disturbed.
"Why won't he tell me?" I asked out loud.
"Does he not trust me?"
Suddenly, I don't know why, a tear trickled down my cheek. Maybe it was because I was angry. But I didn't feel angry. I felt more...Hurt. Was I not trust worthy? He seemed like he wanted to tell me really bad, then he just...Left. Was it something I did?

- Callum's Point of View -
As soon as I shut the door behind me, I regretted it. It wasn't her fault I didn't have the guts to tell her. I was just a big coward. I knew I needed to tell her, but I had no idea how she'd react. It was something that she needed to know, but when was a different matter. I contemplated going back in, but then decided not to. The damage was already done. I'd have to wait till later. For me to gather courage, and for Em to be in the best mood she has ever been.

- Rowan's Point of View -
I wouldn't get to the Castle tonight so I had to find somewhere where I could stay dry. I could tell by the weather that it was going to rain tonight, even if it was sunny now. I had a vague memory of a jumble of rocks somewhere around here. Okay, maybe they weren't a jumble of rocks. They were huge boulders that had been overgrown with grass. If you didn't know where it was, it would be very difficult to find it. A perfect hiding spot. Only one other person besides me new about it, but he was far, far away. I would probably never see him again. I ran through the woods, trying to spot every landmark that I could. I hadn't been there since I was a little girl and I was afraid I wouldn't be able to find it. I ran past an old oak tree and then screeched to a stop, turning around instantly. I walked closer to the tree and saw a tiny little carving of cupid, holding a bow and arrow. That was it. We had carved it into the tree, the boy and me, to use as directions on which way to go to get to the hideout. The arrow in cupids bow was pointing in the direction I had to go. And boy was I glad I spotted that. I had been heading in the wrong direction when I ran past it.
"Thank goodness." I said out loud.
I glanced up at the sky and saw that the sun was practically at the tip of the horizon.
"Better get going."

- Samantha's Point of View -
"I spy, with my little eye, something....BIG!" I said as we cleared a rise, Castle Locksley towering up in front of us.
"Um, it doesn't happen to be that ginormous Castle in front of us, does it?" Joe asked sarcastically.
"Man, you're too good at this game." I laughed.
We had decided to play 'I spy' after a long game of twenty questions. It had been a long ride and after switching the reins between both of us for at least three hours we were ready to collapse on solid ground.
"Alright, I'll pretend to be bad. Wouldn't want you feeling low about yourself, now would we?"
"Eh, I could never feel low about myself." I pretended.
"Yeah, you're right." Joe answered, pretending to be busy with the reins.
"Hey, you weren't suppose to agree with me!"
"Oh...Sorry...Oh of course not Sammy, you're the most humble person I know."
Then we both burst out in laughter. It wasn't extremely funny, but the fact that we were both tired and punchy helped make it extremely hilarious. We drove right up to the back door of the kitchen and started carrying the bread and such what in. We were giggling the whole time about absolutely nothing and tripping over our own feet.
"I think it's about time you youngsters head off to bed." The cook said.
"BED?!? We haven't even eaten yet." Joe said.
"Just like a boy." I mumbled.
Then we both giggled some more while the cook handed each of us a plate of sausage, mashed potato's, and string beans, gravy poured all over it.
"Now, shoo! I have work to do."
We stumbled out of the kitchen, laughing all the way to the garden where sat down and enjoyed our meal. We were still laughing when a voice from behind us said, "If I didn't know better I'd think you were drunk."
Of course, I new immediately who it was. I sat up and spun around to face the tall brunette who I'd known for just about two years.
"Hey Emma! What were you doing, sneaking up behind us like that?" I asked.
"I wasn't sneaking up. I was walking, and if you would have paid more attention then you would have heard me." She answered with a grin.
Then I remembered Joe was with us.
"Oh...Emma you remember Joe, don't you?"
"Oh yeah. Who could forget. He was a better shot then I could ever be."
"Oh no, that was only with the bow. You were much better with the knifes." Joe answered.
"What are you doing around here?" Emma asked.
"Um, I just volunteered to drive this time. Mr. Jones hadn't been to Liturgy in a while."
I could see at the mention of Liturgy, Emma was feeling a bit uncomfortable. I new she was never one to go to church so I tried changing the subject.
"So, I heard Callum was visiting. How's he doing?"
"That's the thing....I don't know...He's...he's been acting weird."
- Okay everyone, the next chapter. What do you think will happen next? What do you think of Joe? You guys have been really good at feedback and I appreciate it. Thanks so much :D - Anna
