Chapter 1
- Callum's Point of View -
"So, Callum, what brings you here?" Little John asked me.
"Well, I had a week leave from the battle school and I haven't seen Em in a while. So I thought I'd come to the famous Locksley Castle."
"Yeah, because you knew you wouldn't have to pay for a room." Little John laughed.
I shrugged.
"What can I say? I'm a cheepy."
We walked through the orchard just catching up on a few things. He seemed to be a very laid back and easy going type. A good conversationalist.
"So, what has Em been up to lately?"
"Well, she had taken up archery by Robin's orders, but she has absolutely no talent for it what so ever."
"How are you gonna teach her if she has no talent?" I laughed.
"Well, we've secretly agreed that I'll switch to teaching her how to use the dirk and throwing knifes."
"Does her dad know?"
"Oh ho, no, no, no. And please, don't tell him."
"I wouldn't dream of it."
I could here voices and such what off in the distance but I ignored them. It wasn't something that was super rare around the castle. We talked a good long while as we walked under the blooming trees.
"So, where is Em now?" I asked.
Little John opened his mouth to answer when a loud voice shouted, "LOOK OUT BELLOW!!!" Just as the voice finished something came crashing through the trees and landed with a thud right in front of us. To my, not so mush surprise, it was Em.
"Johnny, hair doesn't count." She said, standing back up.
"Aww, but Emma, you've won every round since we started."
"But I have longer hair then you. Plus, if you did win I made that jump for nothing."
"Why do you always get to pick the rules?" Said a smaller boy with blonde hair.
He had jumped down from the tree as well, and was now standing in front of Em.
"Oh alright. You win this round. But from now on, hair doesn't count."
I grinned at the scene. Two years and she still hasn't grown up.
"Ummm, I'm not sure if that's entirely fair." I said.
I saw her tense up then spin around as she comprehended who it was.
"CALLUM!" She practically screamed it.
Suddenly, she threw a punch at me. I ducked and grabbed her wrist just to find her other hand flying at me, so I blocked that one while holding her other arm.
"What's this all about?" I asked.
"Oh, sorry but I just wanted to see if they'd been training you properly otherwise you'd have some explaining to do."
"Why?"
"Oh, I don't know. Just except for the fact that you haven't come over in like, TWO YEARS!!!"
"Em, battle school is-" I started before I realized she was just pulling my leg.
"Ohhhhhhh..." Was all I could say.
Little John started to laugh and a wide grin started to spread across Em's face.
"It's nice to see you, Callum." She finally said.
"I didn't think it was possible, but I think you grew like, 20 inches."
"Same," I answered.
"Well, not quite 20."
"Oh, you know what I mean."
"Um..." The boy with the blonde hair said.
"It's getting close to five o'clock."
"So....OH! I forgot...Well come on. We're gonna be late." Em said to me.
"Late for what?"
"Just because my dad's the baron doesn't mean I get to slack off."
When I looked at her confused she went onto explain.
"We have over a hundred places to set for supper."
"OH!" I said.
Even though I had just seen her for the first time in literally two years, she still had chores come first.

- Emmalina's Point of View -
"I don't think I've set more places in all my life." Callum said, sitting down on the steps leading upstairs to the attic.
"It's really nice to see you, Callum." I said with a small smile.
Suddenly I felt really shy again.
"It's nice to see you too." He said, looking at me with those blue eyes.
"I can't believe in two years how little you've changed."
"Yeah. I thought you'd be a knight in shining armor by now." I laughed.
"Haha, not quite. I still have a while to go...Em, what do you do around here?"
"Oh, I just help with the chores and hang out with the orphans here. Like Johnny. Poor kid, his parents died less then a month ago from the fever."
"No, I mean, interests. What do you do as a profession?"
I looked at him for a minute. What did I do? I didn't really have anything that I loved to do so much that I'd want to learn everything there is to know about it.
"I...I don't know...I don't really have anything."
"That's what I thought." He sighed.
"What are you aiming at?"
"Em, you're a great girl and deserve a good life, but if you don't try new things then you'll never find out what you're good at."
"Why does this suddenly pop up?"
"Because...Because you have a chance to get through, to live a better life."
"Callum, what are you talking about?"
"I've seen things...Things that make me know that if you don't do something quick, you're gonna end up..."
"Callum...?!?"
"Em, there's something I need to tell you."
- Okay everyone, sorry for the short chapter but hey, you can't win them all. Hope you liked the chapter and if you did votes and comments are appreciated. Thanks :D - Anna
