37.
2 months isn't that long time.
It is especially not a very long time when you are preoccupied with a million things to do in the waking hours. But it catches you at the most unexpected and unwanted times.
Sehee had been just sitting on one of the tables in her restaurant late that night. Having nothing to do and the love birds in the kitchen far too oblivious in their little bubble, she was just mindlessly scrolling through her phone.
In the last two months, Sehee had done her best not to think about Seokjin. She had agreed to this arrangement but it didn't mean she liked it. It left a bittersweet taste on her tongue.
The first few weeks, she had gone bat-shit crazy and started stalking Seokjin wherever possible on social media. Aera had to scream at her to make her realise that the way she was handling this was so completely wrong. She loved the man and he loved her. Then why should she stalk him like this when she could just call him.
And she had called him. She had told him how she missed him, how she missed talking to him and even though she understood that he couldn't contact her much, she could use a friend.
Seokjin, the kind, understanding and just a tad bit lonely soul he was, listened to her rant, listened to her crying and then going off like a bomb when she started talking about the thirst comments. He had gently made her calm down and told her that he had no control over what people thought or said about him, but at the end of the day, she was the only thing on his mind.
It had successfully silenced the hysteric woman, making her realise how stupid she was. After that, she had handled everything pretty much like the previous mature Sehee.
Though she missed him dearly, she also knew that he'd come back to her. He had promised as much and she believed in him. She believed in their love and the fates, which she had been cursing not long ago.
Strange how people change with time...
In these two months, Sehee had also started to notice things she had ignored for so long. For example, the billboards on every street or the music played in different shops. She had never cared much about k-pop but as she started noticing it after finding out about Seokjin, she realised, she was such a hermit.
A dumb hermit, who finally bought a television set just to watch her man performing on the large screen and the dramas and movies of course.
She finally understood how big of an influence the name, 'BTS' had and completely came to terms with what it meant to date a man like Kim Seokjin.
She was in deep shit but as long as Seokjin was by her side, she could take on anyone and everyone. Love was indeed powerful.
As she continued to scroll down to find a good, funny cat video, she saw a video with Seokjin on the thumbnail and with that, her longing hit her full force. It had been weeks since she had any type of contact with Seokjin.
The last conversation they had was about if he had been eating well and that too was interrupted by someone. Someone who got cursed a lot that day by the livid woman.
She closed the phone with a tired sigh, resting her head on the table. The business too, had been terrible today. What was more terrible, was the fact that Geonu and Youngmi were leaving early again. They wanted to have a late night date supposedly. If that didn't make her feel even more single...
As the clock started approaching midnight Sehee started cleaning up the shop. She had yet to clean the kitchen but the front needed to be done first.
She looked at the watch again. Five minutes to twelve. No one would come now. She flipped the sign to 'closed' and was about to lock the door when a tall man appeared infront of her.
The hard knock on the glass door surprised her. She gasped, taking a step back as she looked at the man questioningly. Why did he have to come so late? Who had dinner so late anyway?
Moreover, this scene awfully felt as if it had happened in the past. Her eyes went to inspect the face of the man on the other side of the glass door. However, the only features of his face visible were his eyes. Deep, soulful, dark eyes. The one that appeared in her dreams.
Feeling her heart skip a beat and a big, happy smile making its way to her red tinted lips, Sehee opened the door and threw her arms around the man's neck.
He caught her with a grunt, followed by a pure laughter she had been dying to listen to. "Ah, Sehee-ah, I can't breathe." He said, walking inside the shop and closing the door behind him.
"Then don't, just let me hug you." She whined like a little kid, making him laugh harder and press a kiss on top of her head.
"I didn't plan for this meeting to go like this but, okay." He said, mirth oozing from his demeanor. He was so happy to have her in his arms again, her sweet scent tickling his senses. He could drown in her if it was possible.
Sehee pulled back slightly, connecting their eyes. "What did you plan?" She asked. He gently pushed the stray strands of hair away from the woman's beautiful face, willing his mind to memorize each and every moment of this night.
"Since we agreed on trying again, I wanted to start fresh." Sehee's arms fell away from him, immediately missing his warmth but like an unspoken agreement, she understood what he meant.
Grinning ear to ear, she put her hand forward. "I'm Choi Sehee, owner of this restaurant." The man removed his mask, a big smile adorning his luscious lips as he shook her hand. "I'm Kim Seokjin and I'm a part of an idol boy band, BTS."
Sehee couldn't help but laugh at their own silliness. "This feels weird to repeat but, nice to meet you Seokjin." He pulled her close with the grip he had on her hand, making her gasp with the suddenness of the movement as she landed on his chest.
"No secrets this time, Sehee." He said in that deep voice as he cupped her face in his hand. She mirrored his actions, her face settling into a calm mask. "No secrets..."
The next moment, they had their lips against each other, sharing a kiss that'd seal their promise. They poured all of their love and frustration from the past months into it as they continued to whisper words of endearment in between kisses. It wasn't a kiss of lust but one of satisfaction and so full of unspeakable emotions.
They finally felt complete again, while their hearts were at peace genuinely for the first time since meeting each other.
Sehee abruptly pulled away, however, making Seokjin groan in protest. She was quick to console him though. "I'm sorry but I just needed to tell you one more thing."
"I'm listening," he said with all the self control he could muster up to not just devour her on the spot.
"Well, it's about one of the jobs I did before opening the restaurant," she said, ducking her head shyly because that job wasn't her most proud one but she needed him to know. "I used to work in a bar as a waitress and it wasn't exactly the most respectful. I had to wear very short clothes and listen to remarks that made me feel dirty but I left it in a month. I couldn't tolerate the humiliation. I just wanted you to know if and when someone digs up my past and well, you know how it is..."
Seokjin felt bad and really, really angry that his woman had to go through all that, the hard times and the bad treatment but he couldn't act on it now. If he became angry, it'd make her feel worse and so, he did what he knew would make her feel better.
He made her look up and meet his eyes again, giving her a sweet kiss before speaking up. "You know, Sehee, you are a really strong woman. You are someone whom I truly admire with my everything and you have nothing to be ashamed of. Everything you went through has made you the wonderful person you are today. I wouldn't have even met you if our lives didn't turn out the way they did. So, know this, no matter what happens or what people say, my love and admiration for you is always going to be unchanging."
Sehee sighed, the tension leaving her shoulders as she smiled brightly. "You have no idea how happy you make me, Kim Seokjin. I love you."
"And I love you." He returned instantly but the next moment, his eyes darkened, his voice deepening as he asked, "So, if we are done with all the confessions, should we go to my place or your place?"
"My place, of course." She replied without missing a beat, their laughter echoing in the restaurant as they took of to celebrate their reunion.
Even as they spent their night expressing their love to each other, drunk on emotions, the knowledge they had gained since meeting each other kept them sober.
Love isn't always just being together and giving and taking everything you have. Love is as selfish as it is sacrificing but it can't thrive within sharp barbs of lies and secrets. Love is as pure as a crystal, cherished with patience, kindness and compassion.
Love isn't a weakness for it can make everything once ugly look beautiful...
