1 year Special.

Seokjin had a peaceful smile on his lips as he looked down at his girlfriend. It had been exactly one year since they started dating and he still couldn't believe she was real and in his life. It all felt like a dream, a fantasy he had harboured for a very long time.

He moved a hand over Sehee's face, fingers gently brushing away the hair from her face. Her perfectly bowed lips were parted slightly as she slept, looking relaxed. He didn't want to wake her up but he couldn't stop himself from touching her either. She was snuggled up against his chest like a cat seeking warmth and it just about made his heart combust.

He had never felt so content as he did now. He bent his head down, brushing his lips in a loving kiss on her small nose. The action made her scrunch her nose, making Seokjin grin wide at the cute sight. God, he loved her so much!

He moved stealthily out of the bed, moving towards the bathroom to freshen up. Later in the kitchen, he started preparing breakfast for both of them. He wanted to surprise her, give her the gift he had picked up a long ago. He had almost all the day planned and he just hoped work didn't call.

Halfway through he saw some movement, looking up, his plump lips stretched into a grin. "Hey, baby," he called out to his girlfriend who smiled a little, her eyes still half-closed. "Morning," she said groggily as she moved through her house and into the kitchen.

Seokjin paid attention to the sausages searing in the pan, knowing what she would do next. Her arms came around his waist as she let her lips ghost over the skin right in the middle of his shoulder blades. No matter how many times she touched him, she somehow always managed to make him shudder.

"Why are you up so early?" she asked, her voice slowly becoming normal. "To feed you," he answered, shutting off the heat and turning around in her hold and moving his own arms around her back.

She grinned at him, her eyes now completely closed as she leaned on him, swaying slightly as he put his chin on top of her head. "Do you want to take a shower with me?" he asked in the peaceful quietness, making her look up and him to look down.

"You already showered," she deadpanned, making Seokjin bite down on his lip. "I can take another one," he said suggestively. The woman chuckled and lightly hit his chest. "You just want to see me naked and nothing else. Not happening, mister." With that, she wiggled out of his hold, quickly running away before he could catch her.

Seokjin pouted cutely but it soon turned into a smile as her giggles faded away, ringing in his ears. He was completely whipped and he knew it. Now, he just had to show her exactly how whipped he was for her.

He didn't know how to feel. Angry? Sad? Vexed?

Judging from the current situation he would go with being extremely bothered and annoyed. Here he was sitting beside her, a movie playing on the tv while Sehee was on her phone, giggling at something. He huffed irritatedly and increased the volume of the tv. The woman didn't even flinch.

This time he couldn't help but scoff in unbelief. “What are you doing?” he asked in the end. Finally, she looked up, smiling as she giggled again and showed him her phone screen.

Seokjin’s eyes widened seeing her screen, his ears reddening a little as he saw the photo of a shirtless man, lounging along the poolside. By the looks of it, the man was trying his best to look seductive and he had to agree the man was succeeding. But the real question was, why was his girlfriend giggling so damn much?

Just then an incoming message flashed on the screen and she quickly pulled the phone away to check it. But she wasn't fast enough.

His nose flared in anger, his face taking on some colour as he glared at his girlfriend. “Who exactly is that man, Choi Sehee?” he asked, his voice hard and just a tad bit loud making the said woman flinch. She gave him a thin smile. “It's just Jihoon, Seokjin. No need to go all He-Man on me,” she replied,  her smile becoming wider when she looked back at the phone screen. “He looks like a clown in that picture,” she laughed saying that but he didn't find the humor.

"You know, I'm really hurt, Sehee," he let out, angrily getting up from the couch and into the kitchen. "Hurt? Why?" she asked cluelessly, watching him open the fridge and take out a water bottle.

"Why? You are really asking me that?" he chuckled humorlessly as he turned to look at her. With her brows furrowed, she nodded. "I am because I don't see why you are getting so angry over nothing."

"I'm not angry without a reason," he burst out suddenly, slamming the bottle hard on the counter. "I think I have full right to be angry right now. I don't get many holidays and those I get, I spend them with you instead of going to meet my parents or friends. And here you are laughing and chatting with another man, right beside your boyfriend. And I saw what he called you. Since when do you let other men call you baby? I thought I was the only one. Tell me, are there more? Do I bore you so much? Or I'm not alluring anymore because I'm no—"

"That's enough!" Sehee interrupted him, her voice just as loud as his. She stood up, facing him as she glared at him. "How dare you accuse me like that? How dare you when I've given everything I could? And with Jihoon? Are you kidding me? You know better than anyone what people from that orphanage means to me and you just…" her voice wavered, making Seokjin feel a little bad for his reaction but he really couldn't think about it right now.

"What day is it today, Sehee?" he asked into the silence that hung between them, his eyes piercing through hers. When she didn't reply, her eyes completely clueless, he took a deep breath and moved. He didn't look at her as he grabbed his coat and wallet, placing a mask on his face and pulling on a cap.

"Where are you going?" her voice was close, he could tell as he put on his shoes. Without turning back, he spoke, "Does it matter? I just don't want to be with you today," with that he quickly opened the door and left her apartment, feeling tears prick his eyes as he walked away.

He was expecting her to call him as climbed into his car. He expected her to call him halfway to his office. He expected her to call him when he reached the building and then into the studio, but she didn't. And as he fell into the chair, he couldn't help but curse himself profusely.

Maybe she forgot what day it was, so what? It's not like the whole world was going to end, he had himself forgotten a lot of things at times. But was that the only reason he got so angry at her? He prided himself for being a good boyfriend, he wasn't a jealous person and yet he felt the ugly head of that emotion rearing when he read that text message. Maybe it was just the effect of what the day meant.

But was it a good reason to fight and leave like he did? He didn't know and he was too confused about his feelings to even think about them. To add to that, she hadn't even called him yet. His phone should have blown by now if she really cared.

Was that it? Did she really not care anymore? Did she fall out of love so easily? After everything they had been through?

Seokjin groaned loudly, clutching his head as it started to hurt and tears gathered in his eyes. No, this can't be happening; he wouldn't let her go away from him again. He couldn't afford that.

He didn't know how long he sat in that studio, doing nothing but thinking hard and messing up his hair once in a while. He knew he would look like a homeless person when he left the building but he didn't care; he had to leave. He had to go to his love and remind her what she meant to him. Running away like this wasn't an option.

Looking at the black screen of a monitor, he smoothed out his hair and straightened his clothes before getting up to leave. He had taken only a few steps out of the studio, his eyes on his phone screen, trying to type a message to Sehee when someone bumped into his shoulder.

He heard a gasp leave the person's mouth who bumped against him, his own eyes widening as he flinched at the suddenness of the action, watching his phone fall down from his grip. He heard a muffled apology coming from the person just as the screen of his phone went blank.

"I'm really so sorry, Mr. Kim. I was in a hurry," the woman kept saying as she bent down to pick up his phone. Seokjin took a deep breath, his already vexed mood worsening but he couldn't act on it. So, he gave her a thin smile and said, "It's really okay, Miss. No harm done, I wasn't looking either."

The woman looked almost scared as she looked up at him and shook her head. "No, it's not okay. Look at your phone, the screen is cracked and it won't open. Give it to me, I'll have it fixed for you." Now, this was just being too much, he thought as he reached out to grab his phone.

"I told you it's alright, miss. I'll fix it myself, please give it back," he let out tightly just as he pulled the phone forcefully. He didn't judge the force he applied or how strongly she gripped the phone but somehow she ended up falling over him.

Instinctively, Seokjin's hands went to clutch her arms, keeping her steady and away from his body. At the same time, her hands landed on his chest, her face uncomfortably pressed against his shoulder. With a muffled curse, Seokjin stepped back, keeping the woman away from him.

As the shock faded, his brows drew together, eyes glaring at the woman as she looked away. He opened his mouth to say something, he didn't know what but just at that moment his eyes caught a movement from the side. He couldn't exactly tell what made him look in that direction but his eyes widened in shock once again as he saw his girlfriend standing there, watching him, watching his hands on another woman's arms.

In a split second, he let go of her, stepping as far away from the other woman as he could as he caught Sehee's sad eyes. He moved towards her, his arm extending forward as if to catch her, but not only was she far, she also shook her head, turning around to leave.

With a sinking feeling settling in the pit of his stomach and his heart painfully hammering against his chest, Seokjin chased her. It was the only thing he could do then. Where he was expecting her to call him, she had instead decided to come to him. He was such a fool.

His throat constricting and his head whirling with anxiety and fear he followed her, paying no attention to his surroundings. “Sehee, wait!” he called out to her just as she opened a door. He was jogging slightly as he went in, hot on her heels only to stop short when all he could see was darkness.

“Sehee?” he called out once again when he could hear no sound or any movement. He started feeling for switches on the closest wall and luckily, he found it and quickly switched them on. For a moment, he was blinded by the lights but soon enough his eyes adjusted and what he saw made his jaw drop.

It was a smaller studio which he often used to practice. The bare, plain room was decorated with fairy lights all over, bunches of colourful flowers giving life to the room. In the middle of the room was a round table with two chairs, a cake in the center, a bottle of champagne and snacks. Sehee grinned at him brightly as she walked over to him, grabbing his widened gaze away from everything else.

She took both of his hands in her own, leaning forward to place a kiss on his cheeks. “Happy one year, baby,” that finally broke his trance and he burst out crying.

He felt his shoulders shaking violently, his chest hurting with the force of his sobs. With the adrenaline fading and the reality sinking in he realised how close he was to losing her. Again. And that scared him more than anything ever had.

“Oh, no,” he heard her say before her arms came around him, holding him close, letting him rest his face over her shoulder. “No, don't cry, don't cry. I'm sorry, I'm so sorry. Please don't cry, Seokjin.”

But he continued to cry all those overwhelming emotions out, his hold tight around her. In return she clutched him just as tightly, moving her hands up and down soothingly over his back. Once in a while, she would utter sweet nothings, telling him she loved him and then kissing his head lovingly.

Soon, his tears stopped and he raised his head to look at her. Sniffling, he cupped her face in both of his hands and placed a hard, desperate kiss on her lips. Her hands tangled in his hair, kissing him back to let him know she was right there. She would always be there.

When they pulled away, Seokjin didn't find it in himself to go too far away from her and so, pressed his forehead against hers. "I thought I lost you," he finally let out softly, his voice hoarse from all the crying, it made Sehee melt.

"Oh, baby, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to scare you like that. I only planned to ignore you and lure you here to celebrate our anniversary. I'm sorry."

He frowned thinking back to the whole day. "You mean to say that the emergency visit to your shop, those messages with Jihoon were all planned?" She bit her lip, looking at him guiltily as she nodded. "And the woman that bumped into you, she helped me too along with the rest of the boys."

"Oh my God…" he let out, the wheels in his head turning as he laughed a little. "What if I had gone to the dorms instead of coming here? Or I hadn't left your apartment? What would you have done then?" She blinked at his question, shrugging nonchalantly as she said, "Someone would have called you here and kept you engaged for a few hours."

"You really had all this planned, didn't you?" he asked in amazement, his smile growing bigger as she pulled him towards the table. She made him sit in one of the chairs before picking up the champagne bottle and winked at him. "You bet. I've been planning this for a month. It was a full-proof plan and it worked. I just didn't expect you to cry like that."

He chuckled softly, watching her lovingly as she popped open the bottle. "What was I supposed to do then? You know how much I love you and how crazy I'm for you. You made it look as if you didn't care for me anymore and that really hurt more than I could have imagined."

Sehee's eyes softened hearing that. She abandoned the bottle and sat down on his lap, wrapping her arms around his neck, kissing him hard. "I'm sorry, I really didn't mean to make you feel so bad. I felt bad doing all that but it's so hard to surprise you and I really wanted to give you something. Forgive me?"

He grinned at her, leaning up to kiss her lips softly. "Only if you agree to move in with me." She sighed, looking away. With the way she had been refusing him all this time, he half expected her to refuse him again and he was ready to let it go too because he had already forgiven her. But he just couldn't let this chance go.

"Okay," she replied after a while, surprising him for the umpteenth time that day. "Really? You'll move in with me? The house I showed you a few months ago? You want to live with me there?" he asked in total disbelief, making Sehee giggle.

"Yes, yes, yes and yes. I'll move in with you Kim Seokjin. I can't handle waiting for your message every day to let me know if you'll meet me. I want you in my house, my life every day, every night."

Laughing out of pure joy, he caught her in a hug, standing up, he swirled around, making her giggle uncontrollably. When he put her down on her feet, he was smiling so hard, she could see the smallest dip in one of his cheeks.

"Thank you," he said, kissing her long and deep, letting his happiness and love reflect in it. In turn, she kissed him with just as much love if not more, their breaths mingling, their hearts beating in sync. Their fingers danced over each other's bodies as if to make sure if it was real or just a dream. When they pulled away a second time, breathing and smiling harder than before, they just knew everything was fine.

"I love you, Choi Sehee. Always."

"I love you too, Kim Seokjin. Always, forever."
