2- Fed up
"Brayden, what have you done?" she cried out. She walked in a little further, and looked around, tears filling her eyes. Her legs began shaking, her hands formed into fists, and her face began to burn, seeing what he had done to the apartment, and with who was all inside.
Brayden was sprawled out on the couch, passed out, and slowly opened his eyes when he heard Victoria's voice, looked at her, and smirked "Hi Hun." he slurred. He adjusted his eyes as he sat up, and looked down at the floor oops... he muttered under his breath. Realizing what he had done, he quickly stood up, holding his hands out, nearly falling over as he stood up, tripping on his own two feet as he walked over to her "Before you say anything, nothing happened... I swear."
"What do you mean nothing happened? They're fucking naked!" Her heart was racing, her entire body was shaking, and she couldn't stop staring at the girls that were lying naked on the ground, asleep next to his friends. She walked over to the girls, and began nudging them with her foot "Get up!"
Brayden knew it didn't look good, and didn't blame her for being upset. He placed his hand on her shoulder, and spun her to face him "Victoria, I swear I didn't do anything." He stepped back, and held his arms out "Please, you've got to believe me... I'm fully dressed, can't you see?"
"I don't give a shit if you're dressed, look what's on the floor!" She didn't care how much he begged for her to believe him, it was the last straw, and she was done. She dropped down on the couch, and lowered her face in her hands "I'm done... we're over."
Brayden stood still, ran his hands through his hair, and closed his eyes after hearing her tell him they were over. He may be drunk, but it still pulled at his heart hearing her say they were over, and didn't want a misunderstanding to break them apart. He lowered his head, shaking it "Please, don't do this." he begged softly "This is all Tucker, and Kent's doing, I can honestly say I didn't have anything to do with those girls coming over."
"I don't care whose fault it is, the fact of the matter is, there are three naked girls passed out on my floor. You may, or may not have had anything to do with it, but the fact is, you allowed it to happen. This is our place, not theirs... I have been busting my ass for months, and you don't give a shit. I have asked you numerous times to go out and get a job, but you're too busy getting drunk, and playing your stupid video games every day with your friends... our neighbor even stopped me this morning, complaining to me about what has been going on here every day..." she stopped talking and looked around, waving her arm "Look at this place! It's a fucking disaster... how is it fair to me to clean up after you? There's toilet paper scattered everywhere, beer cans all over, empty liquor bottles on the table, as well as, drunk and passed out people on our floor."
He sat down next to her, and wrapped his arm around her, hoping he can get her to reconsider "I'll clean it all up, I promise."
"No... you know, tonight I came home to give you an ultimatum, to find a job, or for you to move out..." She moved out of his grip, and stood up. Her heart started to break for what she was about to say, and turned around, looking at him "But after the day that I've had, and to come home to see this, I don't think there is anything that can be fixed. I'm done... we're done."
She quickly left the room, and headed to the bedroom. She had a feeling today was going to be bad, but not this bad. She stood with her back against her bedroom door, wiping away the tears that were forming, debating if she should leave or not. Brayden banged on the door, begging for her to let him in so they could talk, which only upset her more.
She stepped away from the door, and over to her closet, looking for clothes to wear the next day. Finding what she wanted, she grabbed a duffle bag, packed, and headed out of the bedroom. Brayden was sitting on the couching leaning down, trying to wake his friends when he looked up and saw Victoria moving fast towards the door, he jumped up, ran over to her, and blocked her from leaving. "I beg you, please don't leave..."
"Step away from the door Brayden." she demanded, refusing to look at him.
"Where are you going?"
"I don't even know... even if I did, I wouldn't tell you." she sighed. She didn't want to leave, she was hungry and tired as it was, and didn't expect to see what she did when she got home. All she knew was that she couldn't stay and needed to go somewhere to clear her head. She finally got him to move out of her way, and left.
After an hour of driving around, and thinking about things, she lost her appetite, was tired, and fought to keep her eyes open. Not knowing where to go, and not wanting to pay for an entire night's stay at a hotel, she drove to her work, and decided to crash in one of the rooms.
She walked in, went to a room closer to her office, and laid down.
The next morning, Doctor Jones walked into the building with a pad of paper, and pen in hand, and drew a layout of the building. Starting in the front of the building, he began writing down everything he noticed that needed to be changed, and updated. He then went from room to room, and on the last door he opened, he was shocked to see Victoria hunched up into a ball, asleep on the examining table. He stood in the doorway, and not wanting to scare her, he cleared his throat, and waited for her to open her eyes.
Victoria felt a cold draft, and hunched herself up tighter, but the moment she heard someone clear their throat, her eyes opened, and rolled them over to the door. Her stomach instantly dropped the moment she saw it was the new doctor, and groaned "Crap, what time is it?"
He raised his arm, and looked at his watch "It's a little after six in the morning... may I ask why you're here, and in this room sleeping?"
"I don't want to talk about it, especially with you." she says, sitting up, and spinning her legs over the exam table. She looked away from him, and sighed "Better question, what are you doing here this early." she snarled softly. She was embarrassed, and the last thing she wanted was to get caught sleeping in the office, especially by him.
He laughed, and bit down on his bottom lip, studying her, and trying to figure her out. The more he looked at her, and saw she was still in the same clothes as the day before, he wondered if she was homeless, and decided to give her a little break. "I own the place, remember?"
"I do." Not wanting to talk to him any longer, and needed to find a place to get ready, she slid off the table, grabbed her bag off the chair, and tried leaving the room. He reached his arm out, stopping her "Are you homeless?" he asked, looking at her concerned.
"No... now will you let me leave so I can find somewhere to get ready?"
He lowered his arm, allowing her to walk out of the room. Without looking at him, she hurried past him, and headed to the restroom to get ready, locking the door behind her. She quickly cleaned herself up, got ready, then sat on the floor for a bit, thinking. As she opened the door, she peeked her head out, and looked both ways, making sure he wasn't around. When she didn't see him, she rushed to the back office, upon opening the door, and entering, she screamed when she saw someone sitting in her chair.
He cringed, and spun the chair around "What the hell are you screaming about?" he asked, covering his ears.
"You scared this shit out of me, that's why... what the hell are you doing in here anyway?"
"I came in here to see how far you two had gotten on the billing and filing, looks to me not much got done yesterday, why?" he asked, tilting his head to the side.
She walked in further, and furrowed her eyebrows at him. She felt she worked her ass off, stayed even later than normal, and did as much billing as she could. She was in no mood to be questioned, and placed her hands on her hips while staring him in the eyes "For your information, a lot got done yesterday, if you think it's that easy... then you fucking do it."
He stood up, pushed the chair back, and walked up to her. She gulped, and took a step back, thinking it was the wrong thing to say, and placed her hand on his chest, pushing him back when he got close to her. He pointed in her face, and growled "Maybe if you would quit with the attitude, we could straighten some things out between us. I've only been here one day, and you have given me attitude the moment I introduced myself."
"Well, then don't be an ass... coding, and billing takes time, especially when you have tons of files to do. You must have no idea on how it all works..."
"Enlighten me." he says harshly, cutting her off.
"Well, when insurance denies a claim, then we have to go back, and redo it all. It's all about the way you write things down in a patients file, all it takes is different wording for them to accept the claim... now, if you'll excuse me, I have work to do... my boss is a jerk, and I need to get important files done to satisfy him."
He stepped to the side, and crossed his arms, watching her sit. He continued to wonder what her deal was, and had a feeling her attitude wasn't just because of him. She turned on her computer, grabbed a file, and placed it in front of her. She opened it, looked at what was supposed to be billed, and looked up when she felt him still standing behind her. "Do you mind? Don't you have somewhere to be?"
Tiara walked in, saw the doctor, and smiled as she walked past him "Hello."
"Hello." he responded nicely, then looked back at Victoria "Maybe you need to take some lessons from her, on how to be nice."
Tiara sat down, and after he left, she looked at Victoria "What was all that about?"
"I don't know... all I know is, that I need to get as much of this shit done today, so I can leave, go home, and figure out what to do about Brayden." She explained to her what happened when she came home the night before, what his excuses were, and how she spent the night here, only to be caught by Doctor Jones.
"Well, you know what I think, but what do you think? Do you think he was cheating?"
"I don't know." she groaned "I just don't know. He insisted he didn't, and begged for me to reconsider breaking up with him."
She had a hard time working, and kept thinking about what she had walked in on, the surprised look on his face, and how he tried not letting her leave. The day seemed long for her, and avoided running into Doctor Jones as much as she could. Afraid to run into him, she didn't even take a break.
Once it hit five in the evening, and knew the doctor was in another room with a patient, she snuck out of the office. Since her last meal was lunch the day before, she stopped at a Chinese restaurant, and ordered take out, hoping Brayden would be gone by the time she got home.
When she walked inside her apartment, she was shocked to see the place cleaned, and smelling fresh. She set the food down on the dining room table, and walked around, checking the rooms out. Seeing Brayden was gone, she felt a bit of relief, and hoped to be able to relax the rest if the night. She didn't want to see, nor talk to him, and just wanted a night to herself.
She finished eating her food, and headed into bathroom to soak in the tub. She turned on some relaxing music, got the water ready, and poured herself a glass of wine before getting into the tub. She let out a sound of satisfaction when she got into the hot water, and laid down closing her eyes, freeing her mind, and relaxing herself.
Brayden walked into the apartment, heard the music playing, and felt relieved she came home. He knew he had a lot of explaining to do, and hoped by buying her a bouquet of flowers, that she would give him another chance.
He placed the flowers on the table, and sat down. He wasn't sure if she would talk to him, but as he sat there waiting for her to come out, he prepared himself for what he was going to say.
The water was getting cold, and her hands were turning into prunes. She got out of the tub, and let the water drain while she dried off. Knowing the apartment was empty, she walked out nude, and headed for the bedroom. While walking to the bedroom, she heard a noise, and stopped walking "Hello?" she called out.
"It's only me." he responded back.
One night is all I wanted... she huffed to herself. She quickly put on her nightgown, and headed into the living room to see why he was there. "I thought you left." she said angrily, walking towards him.
"No, after you left, I kicked everyone out, and started cleaning. I cleaned all night, and morning. Slept for a bit, then left to get you these. I hope you'll like them, even though I'm your least favorite person right now." He pushed the flowers closer to her, then sat back, watching to see what kind of reaction he'll get.
She opened the package, and sat down. "Brayden, you shouldn't have gotten these." she said sadly "They're beautiful, but I already told you, we're finished."
He leaned forward, and extended his hands to hers, grabbing a hold of them as he looked into her eyes "I know I've been a piece of shit for months; I don't blame you one bit for the way you're feeling right now. But I do want you to know, I am sorry... Please give me another chance... I love you."
What do you think?🤔🤔
Will she give him another chance?
