Chapter 3 - When? Why? How?

I wasn't happy to see my mom but I was filled with joy as she embraced me into her arms.

She had only been gone for a week on a business trip which was actually meant to be too weeks. I was already missing her after 24hours so imagine how I felt when I saw her back early.

"I missed you so much big fox" I said not letting go of her.

"I missed you more my little fox" she responded. We had this thing where I called her big fox and I was her little fox. It was weird but worked for us.

"Can I breathe now?" She asked and I finally unlocked my death grip with a smile.

"Why are you back so soon? Not that I'm complaining" I asked. Her face lit up and I immediately knew something was up.

That was the look shd gave me when she had made a life changing decision. She made a lot of such decisions and I got a little bit worried.

"What did you do this time? Don't tell me you quit your job or worse you got fired for beating up your boss" I have a very big imagination I agree but this has actually happened before.

My mom once worked for a man who thought my mother was open for business (if you know what I mean) but my mom is not that kind of secretary.

I wonder if he still has the ability to have children considering the force mom used to smash his baby makers.

You should know that my mom and I both have a black belt in karate, so that was not a normal kick. I went through a lot of heavy training because my mother told me she wouldn't worry about my safety if I have the ability to beat up a gang of thugs.

"No. I didn't quit my job or get fired, but I might need to quit now because..." she stopped and raised her hand as she left me in suspense.

I was about to go all crazy on her when I finally noticed the diamond ring on her finger. May I add that it was a very huge diamond.

Why would she buy that? It looks crazy expensive. Wait a minute. Is that not like the wedding ring finger? Oh my gosh. Why am I still having this debate in my head?

"OH MY GOSH" I knew my eyes looked like they were about to pop out.

"Where did you get that? Why? How?" My mother rolled her eyes like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

"I GOT MARRIED"

What do you do if you haven't seen your mother for a week and the first thing she tells you is that's she's married? Just yesterday she was single.
