~Authors Last Words~
Hello, guys (for the last time! Just kidding, there'll be other books.),
Thank you so, so much for supporting After Earth's Fall. If you're reading this, this most likely means you've read from the start and for that I am very grateful for. Without you readers, I would never of been able to reach as high as the top five in Science Fiction! Not to mention the thousands of reads. This a great community and you've all been so very polite, respectful, supportive and insightful. I hope my book has meant something to you or got across a particular message/s. I also hope that I've been able to take you on the rollercoaster ride of emotions I was aiming to strap you guys into and that those moments resonated and struck a chord with some of you readers.
Nila, one of the main character of this book. Who doesn't like a strong, independent main character? Am I right? Yet, I doubt your answer would not be the same for a Mary Sue. I didn't want Nila to be perfect. I wanted her to be young. I wanted to her to make mistakes as we all do and I wanted her to be naive at times. We can't all be Bear Grylls. Yes, she's reckless and at some times stupid. Which differs a lot from who she was at the start of After Earth's Fall. A calculated, determined young lady who was all about being at the top and considered a "good", honourable citizen. However, once being dumped on Earth, a planet she sadly found out was not what it was made up to be, she's faced with a new family, new world, new problems. Every choice Nila made was for her newfound friends and family on Earth. I don't know about you but the moral I most admire is selflessness or loyalty and self sacrifice or putting your neck out for others is the most bravest thing one can do. I personally think that I've demonstrated this throughout the book.
All my other beloved main characters have made quite the difference in this world of theirs and have all changed themselves either drastically or just a little from the beginning of the book to the end.
If you're interested in reading any further works of mine, I will be having a little survey on my message board on what one of my ideas you'd like to read next! The book most likely to come first will be "You Are My Sunshine" as that has the most portion of the plot and characters already laid out and ripe for writing, however, if the popular vote lands on something else (and I mean really popular) then I shall write that book. It will just take quite a bit longer to publish.
Lastly, I've been asked to read or am currently reading a few books from undiscovered/new to the community writers. Go check out my reading list! Go! What are you waiting for? I see you...ignoring me. These readers could really use some guidance, advice, help or simply just encouragement or support. Let's acknowledge those smol beans new to WattPad or simply new to writing.
Btw, psst! Here's a little snippet of something that will come out in a year or two..
Before Earth's Fall: The War To End Everything
War.
Doesn't that word just send chills running down your spine? No? Well, it sure does for me.
We, I, live in a new era. A new age. Weapons are indestructible, powerful, threatening. No country out of their right mind has the guts to pick a fight with another one for there'd be mutually assured destruction. M.A.D, isn't it convenient that those three words spell out that? Well, as you should all know, Earth always has the occasional nutcase skipping around on it.
Fun fact: Did you know that the man, a genius, whom created the all-mighty nuclear bomb..killed himself after witnessing what he created?
If not, well I'm not sure where or what time period your listening to this in but..I never did have high hopes that humanity would teach history correctly. Unglorified and unsettling. The truth leaves a sharp cut sometimes however, a lie. A lie leaves a big, fat scar.
Right now, as I'm sharing this with you, I'm sitting in the back of my parents trooper. We're on the road once again, except this time, not for a family vacation.
No.
We're on the run from the destruction and terror the Russian bomb A769 has unleashed on Earth. We have no choice, the bomb hit somewhere in Europe. Europe so far has suffered the most, from what I've been hearing non stop from father's radio, millions almost billions of Europeans just evaporated in a spark of light. Just like that. Bodies of water closest to the point of contact turned to craters of dust and vapor. The soil and vegetation, scorched to grim, black ash. Only 24 hours have passed and scientists in America are still trying to work out just how quickly the radiation will spread in order to inform the media and gather populations but nothing has been said. So, my family: mum, dad and my little sister Danya are all on our own. Fleeing for our survival.
If authorities have somehow found this tape and you sir, the monster that deployed the bomb is somehow still alive and hearing this...I hope your darn happy with yourself. If not and miraculously human civilisation has made it to the future, sit back and relax. Grab some potato chips if those even exist anymore and be prepared for a history lesson.
Jake Weathers, out.
Thank you~
Remember kids: say no to plagiarism! 👍🏻
Until the next book my lovely readers,
Goodbye!
