"So, then what happened?" asks Kaitlyn in a shocked voice.

"Prior to the meeting, the President of China suggested that he could offer refugees sanctuary in his country and then ship them off to Mars in spacecraft whose blueprints came from the Koreans. Though, he said he wouldn't build them until he had all of the other world leaders agree to give him their countries resources. Eventually everyone agreed and after the President of China made an official broadcast of his decision on national television, Miss Chaucer pulled out her gun and shot him in the head," explains Friday.

"But there would've been guards, wouldn't there?" asks Riley.

"Yes, they heard the gunshot. But they didn't do anything about it as Miss Chaucer made a deal with them that if they agreed to pledge loyalty and protect her, she would grant them a life of luxury and immorality in sixteen years. A doctor that had been working for her demonstrated the process of DNA Harvesting and if a guard didn't join Earleen's cause, then he was killed. You know the guards that chased you through the Medical Centre? Well majority of them would've been crooked special forces agents from B.E.F."

"That's crazy. She's crazy," Riley exclaims in disbelief as he squirms around in his chair uncomfortably.

"I wouldn't say crazy. Crazy is someone trying to do the impossible, though Miss Chaucer has actually achieved something we as humans never thought we'd live to see. She's more of a woman obsessed over twisted goals. If you were around to see her meltdown after your blood samples came out negative...you'd understand what I mean. Since they came out negative, it slowed down the Harvesting Process a heap and she became so impulsive, like a junkie who'd missed their last hit of drugs. I felt uneasy being in her presence..." Friday trails off and furrows her eyebrows in thought, staring down at the table.

"How's it going, Friday?" Niate suddenly appears behind Friday wiping his hands with an oil splotched white cloth.

"Reasonably well, considering the circumstances," Friday mumbles in reply.

"How about I take them off your hands for a little bit? Maybe they can find some work to do around here?"

"Sure," Friday smiles sweetly though Nila can see straight through her pretense.

"Perhaps Miss Chaucer did something to her?" She wondered. All she knew was that, considering how hard she's trying to hide her emotions, it's probably not best to ask.

As they walked down hallways and corridors to get to the classrooms, (with Nila pushing Kaitlyn's wheelchair) Naite would explain the kind of jobs people have in Sanctuary. Naite's job is Door and Surveillance Maintenance, where he would sit in his office and watch the cameras set around the bunker and unlock/relock the bunker door whenever someone goes through.

Other jobs include cooking, which Naite occasionally helps out with. The Chef is a big, surly dark-skinned man called Lucas. He looks a bit intimidating but according to Naite he's actually quite cheery, whenever he's off cooking duty, he'll go down to read to the little kids in their makeshift education system. They don't have any legitimate and qualified teachers so they try to do the best they can with who they have.

"Here it is, we've only got a couple kids. There is Maya, Janette or Jany and Ivan ," Naite introduces each child as they enter the room.

The room smells a little moldy but it's by far the cleanest of them all. Crayon drawings of little yellow flowers and deformed representations of animals have been sticky-taped to the wall. As well as maps of the world's geography, though it's not the type they would see in History books back on Mars. They show what Earth is like now, messed up and unrecognisable. The three little kids all look very youthful and innocent as they try to write out the letters of the alphabet. All of which, look around five to seven years old. Little Maya being the youngest.

Nila strolls over and squats down besides the small girl. Her light, wavy brown hair rolls down her shoulders and her blunt cut bangs across her forehead hides her eyes.

"Hello," she murmurs to Maya.

Maya slowly looks up and Nila holds back an upset "Oh" as she notices that Maya's grey eyes are cloudy like a brewing thunderstorm to the point that Nila can only just see her pupils.

"Hi...I don't remember your voice, we haven't met before?" the girl smiles and slowly reaches out one of her tiny hands to brush them across Nila's face.

Nila inhales slowly, "That's right, I'm new here. What are ya doing?" she asks in a sing-song voice.

"Miss Dandra gave me a special book so I can write," she smiles proudly and shoves her little piece of paper in Nila's face. Her special book's pages are harder than ordinary paper. It's covered in tiny, weirdly arranged dots and the pages are brown around the edges with dust, after someone recently tried to wipe the dust off. Meanwhile, on the paper are wobbly letters in black permenant marker, some harder to make out than others. Nila feels the fluttery feeling people get when they're really happy as a big smile spreads across her face.

"You're doing well!" she praises and places the paper back.

Considering her state.

"I know," she beams back and her near to white skin on her cheeks turns a light hue of pink.

Nila giggles, "Of course you are. I'm going to go see the others, okay?"

"K," she replies and searches the table for her special book again.

She then makes her way over to Janette and Ivan. Janette has dark blonde hair parted into two short plaits that just reach her shoulders. She has a constellation of light orange freckles dotted across her cheeks and nose and her eyes are a shade of Aqua. Janette doesn't seem to even notice there are quests present as she flips through the pages of a book whilst sitting in a beanbag. Meanwhile, Ivan has dark black hair that is brushed back sort of like those old rock stars and his eyes are light brown. Nila notices Ivan wearing a leather jacket, much more professionally sewn together compared to the leather and wool people are wearing around her now.

"Hi Ivan, cool jacket. Where'd you get it?" she asks with a smile.

"I found it," he mumbles, fumbling with the two mud coloured buttons on his shoulders. The leather looks sleek and shiny and he rubs his hands over the material.

"We found another box full of items from B.E.F. Ivan was so interested and when he found that jacket, his face was priceless. He liked it so much we just had to give it to him. Haven't seen him without it since," a new voice, joins the conversation. A sweet feminine voice, that flows like honey. Nila stands up straight and turns around to greet the stranger.

There's a woman, dressed in a pretty pink and white polka dot dress and her blonde hair is done half up, half down and the tips of her hair, which ends around her chest area, ends in soft curls. Her eyelashes are short and thick and her eyes are sea green. The only thing that separates her from looking in her twenties are the wrinkles across her forehead.

"Hello, you three must be the teenagers Friday rescued from the tower, right? I'm Vivian. Have you been settling in alright? I'm so sorry for your losses. Has Naite given you all a job yet? Ooh, perhaps you could help out here? I've heard that you Mars folk are taught a lot."

Nila smiles and nods slowly at the truck load of questions being thrown her way. "Uh, well, actually-"

"We were in the T.E.D program. Meaning training for Earth descent. We were taught mainly on combat, apart from that we had a couple classes on space and earth. The only person here that really knows their stuff is Nila. She went to the library everyday," Riley butts in earning an awkward laugh from Nila.

"Sorry, Miss Dandra but after everything that's happened to us, I'm not particularly fond of Mars' educational system," states Nila.

"Oh, yes, I completely understand. Well just know that you're all welcome here anytime," she beams at the three and quickly strides over to Kaitlyn's rescue as Ivan starts to thrash out in another one of his temper tantrums. While Riley and Nila wait silently by Naite, he decides to make conversation.

"Well, I see that teaching isn't your cup of teas. How about I show ya the farms we have? I guess that's the only applicable job left for you guys, the rest around here are a bit unpleasant-"

"SHE TAKE MY J-JACKET FROM ME!"

"Ivan, she was just touching it. Sorry about this dear, he loves it and he gets a bit cranky sometimes. Ivan~ How about we go have a na-"

Naite takes the others outside and away from all the racket, deciding to let Miss Banson do her job. Besides, it doesn't sound very nice in there anyway.

"NAP!? Nooooo!" Ivan bellows and from outside, Nila can hear the tiny little stomps of angry feet patting against the floor to the far side of the room, eventually Maya decides to speak up.

"Ivan, you're being naughty."

"No I'm not!"

"Yeah!"

"NO!"

At least around five minutes later, Miss Dandra sends Kaitlyn out of the room, probably for her own health and safety. She slowly wheels herself through the door on her wheelchair with a depressed look on her face.

"It turns out that, I'm not very good with children.."

"Aw. Don't go looking all mopey yet, I've still got one thing let to show ya," He bends over and gives Kaitlyn a comforting pat on the back.

"And what's that?" Kaitlyn asks.

"The farms."
