The End

Piper Canning stood in front of a table which held an array of weapons, anywhere from Swiss Army knives to hand guns. She looked briefly to her hands which she had expected to be shaking like a leaf, only they weren't, they had been steady while she ran her finger tips over each individual weapon. Considering Jacks size advantage - to his disapproval - Jeanine had allowed Piper to select one weapon to even out any disadvantage she may have.

Peter who had utterly lost his shit when finding out had been kept away from her. He had been held in some sort of clear box, similar to the one Tris had been in only much smaller. Piper couldn't meet her friends eye, despite Tris' pleading as she was dragged out the room. Piper knew her friends and she knew that Tris wouldn't have done it if she had any choice in the matter, what hurt was the fact Tris never told her. She listened while Piper cried and remembered her friend, hugged her while she wished she knew what had happened and yet she'd told her nothing.

Peter on the other hand, she understood. God, she had been so angry at him for so long when all he was doing was protecting her feelings. She hadn't known how he'd found out or how long he'd know for if she were to be exact but what she did know was even with his words and his ability to push her away, he was keeping this for her. He was burdening himself by denying her all to keep her safe and of a sound mind. He knew this would've broken her if she'd found out initially, in fact, with how she may have reacted she could've given up their location.

He had been protecting her practically from the day he met her, Riley, Drew, Jeanine, Jack. He had always been protecting her and now it was her turn to protect him. He'd offered to take her place, in fact, he'd insisted on the matter however, Jeanine gave her the choice and she choose to protect him this time. He hadn't been impressed, hence his now state, locked behind a piece of thick glass.

Jack had exited the room for a moment, to be totally honest, Piper hadn't paid total attention. She picked her weapon, after around a minute or so of staring, trying to come up with any sort of plan. The only thing she could think of was putting a bullet in his head and so she'd held a hand gun tightly in her hand whilst sucking in a breath before turning back around to face everyone once again. Jeanine who stood with arms crossed, Jack who was still no where to be seen.

Piper tucked the gun into her belt walking over to the glass where Peter was being held. He was still shaking his head while looking down at her from the elevated floor behind the glass. His lips were tightly closed with a locked jaw, his eyes held hers almost as if should he refuse the look away she couldn't either resulting in her being unable to do this.

"Piper" his voice was warning and he'd only spoken a word, he let out a breath before sucking in another, "are you trying to prove a point?" He slammed his hand against the glass before letting it fall to his side in a fist, knuckles white. Piper only shook her head, "then why the fuck would you agree to something like this, he will kill you"

Pipers lips tugged into a smile only fuelling Peters fire further while her head fell momentarily before meeting his eyes again, "have a little faith in me Pete" she smiled looking down at his clenched fists before lifting one of her hands to press it firmly on the glass, "he told me" she nodded, turning back to see Jack still hadn't appeared, "about Will, is it true?" Peter's eyes widened while he shook his head while muttering curse words to himself, "did Tris do this?" Lifting her hand off the glass for a small moment before placing it back to remind him no matter what the answer was, she wasn't going anywhere. Watching whilst he nodded, unable to admit it with his words, confused whilst Piper spoke again, "that's okay" she whispered, "I understand, you were protecting me" his brows met before he finally nodded, still feeling as if something wasn't right, "now let me protect you"

"No" he spoke immediately, "No, Piper, call this off now" he shook his head once again watching as she mirrored his reaction.

"I can't do that" she looked to her hand trying to plead with him to lift his too, "think of everything you've done for me, I have been the selfish one, I've blamed you for faults of my own" she swallowed, "but now, I need you to trust me okay" Peter shook his head before she pushed her hand against the glass more suddenly. It had taken a few silent seconds before Peter lifted his own had partly unwilling to do so, "let me show you" she looked at their hands pressed together on either side of the glass, "that I love you"

Peter stared down at the girl, his heart begged him to say it back but his head knew if he had she'd take that as an invitation to go ahead with this fight.

A fight she couldn't physically win.

"Alright" Jeanine's voice boomed across the room whilst Jack walked in. Piper dropped her hand before turning back, not looking at Peter while he battered the glass yelling her name and begging her to let him take her place. Jeanine stopped in front of the girl before she followed Jack into the large box like room with a piece of glass over front, the room Tris had not long ago been in, now cleared, "this is your last chance to back down" Jeanine despite her usual cold demeanour knew Piper from all those years ago. She owed her one final chance to return.

Piper shook her head, "I need this"

Peter continued to yell from where he stood while Piper walked through the open doors, Jacks back facing her whist he stretched. Hearing the doors close behind her whist the door to Peter's cage opened allowing him to fall forward from his banging on the glass. Only to watch as Jack turned to face the girl.

A primal like hell came from the redheads throat before he took off in a run toward the girl. Pipers eyes widened realising just how fast he had been while she ducked watching as Jack slowed himself. Turning to Piper while he cracked his knuckles, "you have no idea what you've agreed to" he smiled, stepping toward her while she backed away, "I'll tear your head from your neck while he watches" another yell left his lips. Throwing himself forward and wrapping his arm around her torso giving him the power to slam her back into the wall, a gust of air leaving her breathless at the force. Lifting a knee to collide with his stomach gave her a brief moment to regain her breath while he stepped back.

Purposely shaking her hands to have him believe she was more terrified than she had been she reached for the gun around her belt. Pulling it out swiftly and holding it up to the larger man who smirked. Jolting back and forward whilst continuing to yell 'boo' in an attempt to scare her. Turning in a semi circle around each other she watched in slow motion as his foot battered into her stomach, throwing her backward while the gun fell on the floor by her feet.

Eyes widening she pounced forward to cover it with her chest while he jumped for the black hand gun too. A yelp leaving her mouth as he wrapped her ponytail around his fist, tugging as hard as his arm would allow, forcing her to look at Peter. She stood as he continued to pull her up by the hair in some attempt to refrain from any further pain but being unable to grab the gun at the same time. His force then pushed her into the glass, blood bubbling from her nostrils after the collision. Peter had been yelling from the other side, telling the man who held his girl that should he not stop he'd kill him for this.

Piper yelled cradling her head while he threw her to the floor. Opening her eyes and finding the gun which he had been bending down to reach, "No!" A yell came from her as she jumped up clinging to the back of him to pull him backward with all the body weight she had. Only, it resulted in him stepping backward, smacking her back against the wall again while every ounce of force in his body pushed her back until she had no air left in her lungs. Dropping her near lifeless body on the ground while he stood forward to pick up the gun still on the ground.

Pipers hands went to her neck, begging her surroundings for air. Her eyes met Peter's while she shook her head in some sad attempt at an apology. Peter's eyes went from hers to the gun in Jack's hand, continuously he pounded his fists on the glass, blood soaking the area while he demolished his knuckles. His voice was unstable from all the yelling and now pleading, begging for her life. Peter had felt like he was watching his heart being ripped from his chest. He had only felt pure rage before but now, now he felt the water brimming around his eyes which alerted him that emotion had changed. Peter Hayes never begged, and now he slid down to his knees while he could only beg for Pipers life, promising Jeanine anything she would want.

"Such a waste" Jacks voice brought Pipers attention back to him, "you could've been so useful and now look at you" his taunting meant nothing to the girl now, "I'll make this quick" he turned to take in Peter who now had water staining his cheeks "for his sake"

Stepping forward while Piper heaved for breath, refusing to move from the spot she sat in, she let her eyes fall closed, feeling the cold sensation of the barrel against her head. Peter's eyes were zoned in on the gun which was held with a rather shaky hand. Maybe he couldn't do it. Perhaps Piper would live-

Peter Hayes let out a cry of pain as he watched Jack tighten his finger around the trigger, pulling it tight.
