The Deal

While Piper had been asleep, something that didn't come quick but Peter had been adamant he were to guard her cell. He didn't trust any of those erudite pricks to do it.

He was to have a meeting with Jeanine, only he refused to attend until Piper was asleep and wouldn't attempt anything while someone else stood out front.

He had somewhat mentally prepared himself not to argue with her, somewhat.

It had taken him a couple of minutes to remove himself from her post and let the other red haired man in glasses take over, ensure Peter it would only be until his return. He also refused to hand over his key card, not allowing anyone else to access her room. He knew Piper wasn't stupid enough to put herself in danger just to get out. Or at least he'd hoped.

His boots thumped on the white flooring, echoing around him while he sound his way to her office. Feeling more tense than he had earlier that day with Piper.

Lifting a hand he knocked on the large opaque glass door, listening for her to allow him entrance. Which she had.

When entering he refused to meet her eyes, closing the door behind him.

"Please Peter, sit" she held her hand in the direction of the seat on the opposing side of her desk, having him face her, "you made a smart decision" she smiled his way while he adjusted himself in his seat, "it might not feel like it right now but, it will pay off" she clasped her hands while Peter let out a slight scoff, "I'm prepared to make a deal with you, I'm not as awful as you all say I am"

Peter finally looked up at her.

Taking in her appearance once again, this was the woman who put Piper in danger, his Piper, the scar on his abdomen also her fault.

But, if it were to keep Piper safe, he'd do anything she asked of him.

"I'm listening" his knuckles turned white as he spoke, trying to control his anger in any way that he could.

"Good, you're a clever boy Peter, I'm surprised your test results weren't erudite" her attempt at building any form of rapport going down quickly, she continued, "you like that girl don't you?" Jeanine now flattened her palm to the desk.

Watching as Peter squirmed at her question have her the answer she needed, although, she wanted to hear him say it. The best kind of person to have at your disposal is someone who you have leverage over.

Someone who was in love with that leverage was even better.

"I do" he confirmed, clearing his throat, "she's the only thing I've got" that made Jeanine smile, as sickly as it looked, "which means, if any harm comes to her, nothing will stop me tearing through this place and everyone in it"

He'd be unhinged should something happen to her.

He tried not to think of the injury she'd already been given, curtesy of Eric.

Jeanine liked a man who could make a threat, if he could threaten lives like that it meant he could take them.

"Tell me Peter, have you ever taken a life?"

Her question caught him by surprise, the image of Drew flooding to his head.

"Yes"

Jeanine nodded, pleased.

"I just like to know the mental strength of those who work along side me that's all" she started flicking a pen back and forth, "I will keep Piper safe, as long as I can depend on your loyalty?" A brow raised while she watched him nod a yes to her question, "I did ensure the cut on her forehead was seen to, I also asked Eric to be more gentle when handling precious cargo for the next time" she smiled once more, only it wasn't warm, not like Pipers smile.

Peter looked about the room, taking in the pictures on the walls, scientists and pictures of Jeanine.

She didn't look to have much in terms of family.

He wasn't surprised, although he never thought he'd have a family until Piper. Piper who probably doesn't even want to look his way now. He could live with her hatred of him, he couldn't however live without her being alive. This was the only way he could protect her.

"I want to protect her" he spoke his thoughts aloud, "no one else should be granted the option to do so, only me" he wasn't bargaining, he was stating.

Jeanine looked a little more irate at that.

"We have plenty of men-"

"And only one Piper, I will promise you my undying loyalty, but, only if you have me as her guard" he watched as her mouth thinned to a line, "I'll do whatever you need, while keeping her safe"

She looked as though she had to think it over, he watched the thoughts run through her head, unsure if she should agree to this.

Although, she quickly showed a smirk plastered on her face, "you want to be the one to watch her 24/7, fine, done" his brows knitted together untrusting of how easy that had seemed, "you can keep her safe from inside the cell"

His eyes widened at her words. Inside the cell? That meant he'd have to share the space with her.

She would hate the idea, she could hardly look at him before, she's not going to want to live beside him for god knows how long.

More concerning was his will power.

He didn't think he could live with her while keeping the secrets he had to, without wanting to hold her, kiss her, be with her. Slamming his foot on the floor he tried to escape the thoughts.

"No"

Jeanine smiled, "no?" Peter felt her stomach flip, "well, I'm sure Jesse would be more than happy to share a bed with your girl"

This time his fist slammed on the desk, Jesse? Who the fuck was Jesse?

More importantly over his dead body would another guy be so close.

"No," he let out a defeated sigh, "I'll do it"

Jeanine stood from where she'd been seated, "that didn't take a lot of convincing now did it?" she nodded for Peter to follow, "you know what's more dangerous than a man with a vengeance Peter?" She quizzed him as they exited her office.

"No, I do not know"

"A man who is in love"

Piper was rudely awakened from her sleep by a set of strong hands holding her down.

"Hey, lay the hell off" the voice of Peter Hayes reached her ears, but the hands on her were not his, it was that of a red head man.

"Need to make sure she can't run" the large man spoke from above her.

She tried to wiggle loose, it was no use.

Her legs were then pinned down by someone else, the sound of things being moved had her attempting to see behind the two large men.

"What the hell is going on? I haven't done anything!" She tried to defend herself.

No response, just more shuffling.

"We done?" The one holding her legs looked over his shoulder, slowly she got a glimpse of Peter making his way to her, pushing that same man away from her legs.

"Two of you? Seriously?" He shook his head, "what do you think she looks like? The fucking terminator?" He shook his head, "move, I'll hold onto her now, while you assholes leave" she felt the grip of her shoulders loosen.

This was her opportunity.

She swung up trying to dive off the bed as these two men made their exit.

A strong pair of arms tightening around her waist and holding her back, keeping her firmly planted on the bed.

She tried to kick and scream, throwing her fists at the thighs of Peter Hayes while he held her tightly. The sound of the doors locking crushing the little hope she'd had of an escape. He then let her free.

Watching as she jumped away from him.

Standing up while he sat on the bed, looking her way and taking his jacket off to reveal a blue shirt sleeved tee.

"What is going on?" She threw his way walking around to stand before him.

He stood up walking past her toward the large white panels at the far end of the room, aware she was following as he did. He zoned out her attempts to push for an answer. She watched as he lifted his hand and pushed in on one of the panels, a clicking sound then revealed they were in fact doors, a door that opened to reveal clothes.

Mens clothes.

He cockily stood smug before her after hanging up his jacket.

"Hey, roomie" watching as her eyes widened in pure horror, "looks like we will be stuck in here together until.." he smiled walking toward the bathroom, "well, actually I have no idea how long"

She raced in behind him, "not a fucking chance" pushing his back so he'd be forced to look at her, "no I refuse"

Peter turned, leaning back on the marbled unit.

"See that's the thing about prisoners Piper, they don't really get to make demands"

"What, you expect me to believe you've just agreed to be a prisoner along side me for god knows how long?" She let out a laugh, "bullshit". He looked her up and down, making her conscious of what she was wearing once again, "there must be something in this for you"

He smirked while he kicked his boots off.

"Clever girl" the words having the butterflies that had laid dormant in her stomach spring to life.

"Well, out with it!"

"You want to know what's in it for me?" He raised a brow walking towards her, watching while she tried to nod confidently, not that it worked.

He reached down to his T-shirt, pulling it swiftly off his head, her eyes immediately going to his bare chest, not caring for the fact she was looking. He was so toned, more than she remembered although he had been working out a lot since moving to amity. Her eyes trailed down the biceps which moved as he stood straight again. Until her eyes found the scar just  below and to the side of his belly button.

"You" he spoke almost seductively.

"What?" She tried to meet his eyes without panicking about not paying attention, being too distracted.

"You asked what was in it for me" he confirmed watching as she nodded, "it's you, you are what's in it for me"

She stood still while he lifted his hand to her jaw, every bone in her body telling her to push him off, but she couldn't. The feeling of his rough thumb trailing over her jaw and chin had her in some sort of trance.

"I'm about to shower" he smiled while letting her face fall from his grasp, "feel free to stay and watch, I know how you like to stare" he smirked referring to her staring moments ago.
