First Kiss

Lela was daydreaming when her thoughts were interrupted by a knock at the front door. It was already dark and she was home alone. She went to the door and asked, "Who is it?"

A voice answered, "Lela it's me, Kevin."

Lela opened the door surprised to her classmate. Kevin was tutoring her in Trigonometry. He was very shy and was one of the tallest guys in the school. He had light brown hair and hazel eyes. Such a contrast to Lela's long black hair and brown eyes.

"Kevin what are you doing here?" Lela asked. "Did I miss a study session again?"

"No. I needed to talk to you about something. Can I come in?"

"Sure." Lela motioned him to come inside. Kevin lived on the east side of town, where all the houses were large with green lawns and in ground pools. Lela lived on the west side of town, filled with apartment duplexes and transient neighbors. In the living room she asked, "What are you doing on this side of town at night? You drove your car here?"

"Yeah. I need your help" Kevin said as he sat down on the sofa.

"What kind of help?" Lela said.

Kevin's hand began fidgeting. "Well, it sort of embarrassing."

"What? Did you catch some STD or something?" Lela asked.

Kevin looked at Lela in shock. "No! Why would you even say that?"

Lela laughed and shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know, you said it was embarrassing. And I don't believe you would come to me for school advice. I'm barely passing gym."

Kevin laughed. "I have a date with Ashley."

"Ashley Dennis?" Lela asked. "Nice."

Kevin shook his head, "Well, that's the problem. You see, this is so embarrassing for me to say."

Lela replied, "Just say it Kevin, or we'll be here all night."

Kevin then whispered, "I never been with a girl."

Lela let the words sink in. "So you're a virgin?"

Kevin replied, "I never even kissed a girl."

Now Lela was shocked. "Really?"

Kevin looked away. "You think I'm weird?"

"No, I mean, it's sort of unusual I guess. We're both eighteen."

"Exactly" Kevin stood up and began pacing. "I'm eighteen and never kissed anyone. I'm a freak."

Lela stood up. "You're not a freak. You're a very nice guy. I think it's nice you are waiting for the right person. Besides, kissing can over-rated."

Kevin looked at her incredulously. "Who said anything about waiting?"

Lela took a step back. "Oh, my bad."

Kevin sighed. "Sorry, I didn't meant to snap at you". He sat back down on the sofa. "Look, I came here to ask if you could help me out and teach me how to kiss."

Lela wasn't sure what to say. She didn't think of Kevin in that way. She sat down, staring at Kevin. "Me? You want to kiss me?"

"Yeah. You're the only girl I could think of to ask. I heard you are, you know, experienced. I figured you could give me a few tips."

"And where did you here that?" Lela asked. It was true, she was no virgin but it wasn't something she talked about openly.

Kevin shrugged his shoulders. "I hear things."

"Look, Kevin I see you as a friend and my tutor. I don't want to mess that up."

"I don't think a small kiss will damage our friendship", Kevin relied. Lela, however, was unsure but Kevin wasn't backing down. "Come on Lela help me out here. I'm helping you pass trigonometry. The least you can do is show me how to kiss a girl."

Lela finally relented. "All right." She took off her jogging jacket, revealing her tank top and pulled her long braids into ponytail.

Kevin took a double take. "What are you doing?"

"Getting comfortable and you should too. Take off your jacket."

Kevin did as he was told. Lela then scooted closer to Kevin. She placed her left hand on his shoulder.

"Ok. I'll take the lead and you follow along."

Kevin nodded. Lela leaned in and pressed her lips against Kevin, placing a small kiss on Kevin's lower lip. His lips felt soft against hers.

Lela then said, "Now pucker up your lips against mine."

Kevin slowly puckered and pressed his lips against Lela's for a small kiss. He sat back. "Is that it?"

"No. Now I want you to part your lips. I'm going to flick my tongue in and out of your mouth."

Kevin looked at her in horror. "Flick your tongue?"

Lela rolled her eyes. "If I didn't know you, I would think you have been living in a cave since birth. Just do it."

Lela watch Kevin closed his eyes and opened his mouth slightly. She leaned towards his face, picking up the scent of cologne. She gently licked Kevin's lower lip as she slipped her tongue into his mouth. It was warm and moist. As she explored Kevin's mouth, she soon felt Kevin's hand touch her arm.

Lela pulled away and whispered, "Now I want you to flick your tongue into my mouth, just like I did."

Kevin needed no encouragement. He slid his tongue into Lela's mouth. Lela had to admit Kevin was not a bad kisser for someone claiming to have never kissed anyone before. As Kevin's kiss got deeper and stronger, Lela's tongue began playing with Kevin's tongue, dancing to a silent beat.

Lela began to lean back against the sofa. Kevin ran his hand down her arm, resting on her hip. She reached up and ran her hand through Kevin's hair. When the kiss finally broke, Kevin looked at her as if he was seeing stars. "You said kissing was over-rated?"

Lela laughed. "Maybe I was wrong about that."

Kevin smiled. "Yeah, you were". He brushed a braid behind Lela's ear. He leaned forward and began kissing her again. Lela fell further back onto the sofa until Kevin was lying on top of her. His chest was pressed against her breasts. Kevin moaned into her mouth. Lela felt heat radiating from Kevin's body. Lela could sense Kevin's lust and desire building. Lela knew she should stop this before going further. She knew where this would lead to. Suddenly she felt something poking her thigh.

Kevin quickly pulled away and stood up. He looked down at her as if he was looking at a ghost.

"What's wrong?" Lela asked.

Kevin looked away. "I'm sorry. I think I better go." He quickly grabbed his jacket.

Lela sat up. "What are you talking about? You were doing great. Why you're acting weird now?"

Kevin replied, "I felt something."

Lela walked up to Kevin and cupped his crotch. "You mean this?"

Kevin pulled way. "Hey. Stop that."

Lela rolled her eyes. "It's okay, Kevin. It's normal."

"It's not that. I felt something else. Something I can't explain."

Lela turned away. "I knew this was a bad idea."

Kevin grabbed Lela's shoulder and turned her around. "No, it wasn't. It was a great first kiss and I'll always remember it." Kevin placed a small kiss on Lela's cheek and whispered, "Thank you."

As she watched Kevin walked out the front door and drove off in his car, Lela began questioning the wisdom of kissing Kevin. The kiss was one of the best kisses she had ever experienced. Deep down she knew it had changed things. Why was she so stupid?

Suddenly a voice called out from behind Lela. "Did you have fun?"

Lela practically jumped out of her skin. She turned to see her older sister, Rochelle standing by the doorway. She hadn't heard her come in, but Rochelle was known to be very sneaky. "God, Rochelle you're trying to give me a heart attack?"

Rochelle laughed. "Seemed you were about to give that boy one."

"How long you been here?" Lela asked.

Rochelle answered, "Long enough." Rochelle strolled to the window. "You pick them well."

Lela rolled her eyes at her sister, "He's a friend. Just a friend and my trigonometry tutor."

Rochelle just smiled. "Whatever. But he's not your typical guy. I could smell the animal in him. I know you did too."

Lela said nothing. Of course she smelled it. She started changing when she was fifteen. Kevin was the only other shifter she met since moving to this town over a year ago. She believed Kevin knew what she was. However, he never said anything. In fact, he acted as if he was just a normal human. He was so different from the others she had met.

Rochelle turned and walked towards the stairs. Before climbing the stairs, Rochelle turned and winked her eye at Lela. "You better look out baby girl. The full moon is in three days. I have a feeling our little friend will be back."

Lela just sighed. She really hated the full moon.
