Chapter 6: Phoenix's arrival

Sunlight shone down from the sky as a large silver Pontiac Firebird turned onto the nearest exit that read 'Summerville 25 miles'  the driver making the turn with ease as she drove down the long dusty country road that lead out of town.

The driver herself was a young woman with mid length black brown curls and eyes the color of dark chocolate which were visible behind the black and gold glasses she wore. a silver locket with a crystal heart hung round her neck with the initials "P. L. S." engraved in the center.

the young woman smiled as she drove a smirk tugging at the corner of her lips, pushing her glasses up with a smirk as she drove with ease through the traffic she found a gap in one of the lines before she drove on and turned onto the long dusty road that lead to the old farm that had once been her grandfather's before pulling up in front of the house and turning off her car as she got out and made her way to the door.

"Hello?" she called after having knocked several times only to be met with silence.

"I guess nobody's home." she thought and turned to leave when two pairs of feet could be heard from inside and the door was thrown open by a boy who looked to be about 16 years old with the same wavy dark curls as the young woman herself, a broad grin made it's way onto his face as he threw his arms tightly around her in a hug.

"Pheo!" Trevor Spengler cried as he hugged her tightly before letting go to look his older sister up and down with delight as he squeezed her hand.

"How have you been?" he asked as the two of them sat together on the front steps.

"I've been okay, just been investigating some of the stuff grandpa left to me." Phoenix replied as she fixed her brother's hair with a laugh.

"Every damn time I see you your hair grows like a weed." she observed as she messed it up teasingly. "How's Phoebe doing?" she asked as she fixed the collar of his shirt.

"She's good." came a voice from the step above and Phoenix looked up to see her younger sister grinning at her.

"Hey Pheebs." Phoenix said as she rose to her feet and hugged her sister who kissed her on the cheek.

"Hey Pheo." Phoebe replied as she let go of her sister with a smile before her eyes went to the car in front of the house.

"That isn't yours, is it?" Trevor asked in amazement to which Phoenix sent him a smile. "It is, and it's the only other thing besides my locket that I've got left of grandpa." She said with a smile.
