Adelaide's Point of View
"You boys sure know how to throw a party," I mused, wiping the lingering sweat off of my forehead. The liquid was most likely causing my oily skin to illuminate even more. I plopped down on Calum's lap on the couch, and his arms instantly enveloped around me as I leaned against his chest.
My feet were incredibly sore from dancing on their hardwood floors, the floors that were currently covered in empty bottles and plastic cups and various articles of clothing that people were too lazy to pick up. Ashton was going around with a trash bag and attempting to pick them all up, but it was going to take him forever.
"I'm not cleaning that up," I whispered to Calum in my best Muriel from Suite Life of Zach and Cody's impression, but I'm not sure if he even picked up on it.
Luke collapsed onto the sofa next to us, swinging his legs around so they were on top of mine. He let out a deep breath. "I'm glad you two could come. And you showed up unannounced, which you know was just icing on the cake," He said sarcastically.
I wiggled my leg out from underneath Luke's spider like limbs to kick him in the chest. The three of us chuckled loudly, but Ashton was barely paying any attention. He seemed to be much more neat oriented than I had imagined a young adult living on his own to be. "Ad and I are sleeping over, by the way," Calum declared, without even asking.
"No shit," Luke teased, giggling to himself. "Addy is sleeping in my room, right?"
"No she's sleeping in mine!" Ashton protested, throwing the bag of bottles into the recycling bin in the corner.
Calum rolled his eyes with irritation, but I just simply laughed at how they teased him about his jealousy. His grip on me became tighter and he snuggled his head into the corner of my neck. "No, she's mine."
"Why don't you sleep with one of the boys so I can have the bed to myself?" I suggested, making his friends burst into hysterics. I innocently pressed a kiss to his protruding cheekbones. "I'm just kidding."
"Better be," He complained.
The four of us settled into a nonsense conversation about recent events and I loved how easily I was able to chat with them. I only hungout with these boys for a whopping three days, but it felt like I knew them for years. Their relationship with Calum was still the most adorable friendship I had ever witnessed.
Midnight fell upon us much quicker than I had imagined. The glimmer of light peeking through their sheer curtains had completely disappeared. I had subconsciously let out a loud yawn, stretching my arms out wide and feeling the cool breeze from the open window tickle my bare skin.
Ashton was nibbling away on some tortilla chips, dipping them into a bowl of melted cheese. He glanced up at the clock, realizing it was now around three in the morning, and his eyes widened. "Oh wow, I need to go to bed."
"Me too," Calum agreed, gently tapping my back to let me know that I needed to get off of him. I slowly climbed off of his lap, instantly missing the warmth of his body pressed against me.
I enveloped Ashton into a hug, ruffling his curly mop of hair. "Goodnight, Ash. Thanks for letting me stay here."
"It's no problem. We love you almost as much as Calum does, Addy," Luke interrupted, pulling me against his chest in another embrace. I smiled, the overwhelming feeling of happiness traveling through my spine.
Calum gave his best friends a hug as well and the four of us said our goodnights before departing down towards the seperate rooms. Their house was cozy. Ashton's bedroom was on the first floor and the other two were on the second, with a teeney bathroom in between. It reminded me of a house you would see in Cape Cod, painted with a vivid yellow or blue color.
The door to the guest room creaked open and my attention was immediately drawn towards the small bed in front of us. It was barely a double, it had to be just an extra large twin. I cracked up at the sight of it. "How are we supposed to fit in that?"
"We're just going to have snuggle," Calum cooed, leaving a kiss on my lips. His hands slid up my loose shirt and he lifted it over my head, wasting no time before returning back to my neck and proceeding to plant kisses up my jawline.
"Cal," I said softly, dragging on his shirt to push him onto the squeaky mattress. He threw his shirt to the floor as he got on top of me.
"Shh, we have to be quiet," Calum instructed, attempting to tug on my shorts and lock our lips together. Just as his calloused palms reached around to unbutton my shorts, the door swung open, and a gasp escaped my lips.
"Do you guys need any-" Luke began to say, before his jaw dropped at the sight of Calum straddling my body. He threw his head back with laughter, clapping his hands together as this was the funniest thing ever. "Oh God, I'm so sorry. Whoops. I probably should have knocked."
My cheeks were burning red and I was thankful that Calum's tall body was shielding mine. "Always killing the mood, aren't ya Luke?" Calum complained, shaking his head at his friend.
"That's my speciality," Luke stated proudly, crossing his arms across his broad chest and leaning his blonde quiff against the door frame. "Feel free to continue, you two."
A surprised chuckle left my mouth. I quickly threw a hand over my lips to smother the sound. "Hemmings, get the hell out," Calum shouted.
Luke put both of his hands up in the air in defense, laughing lightly to himself. "Alright, alright, fine. I'm proud of you for getting some action, though. Addy, don't worry, I'm probably not going to remember this in the morning. I'm still pretty hammered. Goodnight guys. Enjoy the sex. Love ya, bro."
When we were left to our own privacy again, I was already bursting out into hysterical laughter. I had no clue whether or not it was because I was embarassed that we got caught or if it was because of how Luke's speech seemed so incredibly casual. Calum flopped down onto the small space beside me with a heavy sigh, his lips curling up into a pout.
I wrapped my arms around his waist and rested my head against his chest, tangling our legs together like an intricate web. "You're actually the only girl I know who wouldn't completely freak out about getting interrupted."
My fingers lifted to his stomach, tracing hearts against his sunkissed skin. "Well, it's kind of funny."
"You're funny," Calum countered, kissing the crown of my head. "In all honesty though, Ad, you have no idea how perfect you are. I mean, tonight has been the most ultimate challenge for a perfect girlfriend. You drove almost an hour just to fix our fight, you cared about whether or not I was drinking, I got to have your nice booty dancing against me, I also got to dance with you like a total idiot, you get along with my friends, you are great in bed, and you are an even better cuddler."
"Can I put all of that on my resumé?" I teased, making his chest that I was lying on vibrate with his eruption of chuckles.
"What I'm trying to say is, there is no one in this entire world, dead or alive, that I'd rather be with."
I grinned, becoming more giddy than I ever thought was possible. I knew he was making references to both Ellie and all of his celebrity crushes that I constantly taunt him for. It was humbling, you know? Having someone pick a boring old you out of millions who could be better.
"Okay," I purposely said nonchalantly, making myself giggle at how I just responded to his heartwarming declaration with barely any reaction. Calum didn't seem to find it as funny as I did. "I'm just kidding. I love you, idiot."
His fingers tilted my chin up to kiss my lips. "I love you too, baby. Let's get some sleep, alright?"
