❝ CHAPTER 11 ❞

▌Chapter 11 ─ 27 Years Later ▌
━━━━━ HOLLY WAS CURRENTLY in Paris France, visiting her ex-husband as well as her daughter and father. Prudence was also in Paris, and she was currently with Holly, they were all gathered for a late night dinner. Prudence was the only one she really remembered from her childhood. The two had moved to New York and both graduated from the same school.
Holly went for fashion design while Prudence went to be an actress. Holly worked on film and tv show costumes most of the time. When she wasn't doing those she was working on clothes, and other various fashion clothes. She had made a name for herself and she was proud of what she had done.
Even though Holly had divorced her ex-husband ─ who she had met through Prudence ─ the two remained close friends and decided they wanted to show their daughter that she was important and loved very much. Holly sat next to her dad, who sat next to his granddaughter. Everyone was laughing and having a good time.
Holly's phone had begun to ring, "excuse me." She said, standing up from the table and exiting out of the dining room. She grabbed her phone and looked at it, seeing a call coming in from Derry, Maine. Suddenly she seemed to be filled with anxiety and she wasn't sure why. "Hello." She said, answering the call.
"Holly?"
"Yes? Who is this?" She asked.
"It's Mike Hanlon. From Derry."
"I'm sorry."
"You need to come back to Derry. It's happening again."
A part of her seemed to know what he was talking about while the other part of her wasn't quite sure.
"Why?"
"It's come back again. You made a promise. We all did. I'll send you all the information."
Holly placed her phone on the counter as the call dropped, her ex-husband looked into the kitchen and noticed that something was off. The brunette looked down at her hand, as a sting went through it. Then she started to panic, she felt like the air was catching inside her and not escaping. Holly moved over to a different counter and proceeded to walk down the hallway.
She leaned against the wall trying to make it outside to hopefully calm herself down. Emerson followed behind his ex-wife as she made it to the steps and lowered herself down to the ground. Emerson closed the front door behind them so no one else would come out. He moved down the steps and placed his hand on her back.
Holly proceeded to grab a hold of Emerson's other hand trying to focus on something to calm herself down. It had started to work and she was gaining her breath again. Emerson rubbed her back, as she calmed down some more. The brunette dropped herself to the steps, while Emerson sat down next to her.
"You want to tell me what that was about?" Emerson asked her.
Holly Stark looked to her ex-husband as he waited for an answer. "There's something missing. I can't remember it. I know that Prudence feels the same way. And I'm sure she got the call too. Her and I have to go back home." Holly answered.
"What do you mean you have to go back home?"
"We have to go back to Derry." Prudence said, standing at the front door. Holly looked up at her best friend, the only one that she could remember cause they never left each other.
"Yeah, we do." Holly breathed out.
"Okay, I'll come with you two." Emerson said, looking between the two women.
Emerson was currently dating Prudence, but there were no hard feelings between Holly and Emerson. Holly loved Prudence like a sister and wanted her to be happy. And she was happy with Emerson. Somewhere deep down she always knew that the two had feelings for each other. And she herself had feelings for someone else but in that moment and time she wasn't sure who it was.
"No." Prudence said, walking over to the two.
"This is something we have to do on our own. Prudence and I need to go back, we're not taking you or my dad or our daughter. I don't want her to go with us, especially because we don't know what's gonna happen. Okay you just have to trust us."
"Okay. I'll stay here. Just promise me that both of you will be safe and will come back to us." Emerson looked to Holly first. "Our daughter needs you to survive and so does your dad." Then he looked at Prudence. He stood up and walked over to her. "I love you, Prudence and I need you to come back to me."
"You know I will, Emerson, I love you too." The two then hugged and Holly smiled at them.
"I'm going to pack a bag." Holly said, standing back up and walking back into the house.
She headed up to her room and grabbed her clothes, shoving them into a bag. Once she was finished she walked back down stairs and walked into the living room where her dad and daughter were. She walked over to them and sat down in front of them looking between the two.
"Prudence and I are going to be gone for a few days." Holly started to tell them. "But I promise we will be back."
"Where are you going mommy?" Her daughter asked.
"I have to go back home to do something."
Nicholas looked to his daughter, he knew where she was going and why she was doing it. "Just be safe." He said.
"I will, dad. I promise." She leaned forward and proceeded to hug him tightly as if it were her last. When she pulled back she looked at her daughter.
"You are going to stay with your dad, and granddad while Prudence and I are gone. You better be good for them."
"I will, mommy." She said, moving off the couch and walking over to her.
Holly hugged her daughter tightly. "I love you my little bean."
"I love you too, mommy."
"Holly, we should get going." Prudence said, looking at her friend.
Holly nodded her head in agreement and stood up. She walked back over to Prudence and together the two left ready to go back to their home that they hadn't stepped foot in for over 27 years.
