Chapter 19
You linked arms with your bunk bud as you walked towards the cafeteria, forcing him to talk to you so there was at least some distraction from the relentless staring.
This is getting old really fast
Your eyes grew wide as you approached the propped open double doors to the cafeteria, hearing the first tune of a live orchestra ringing out into the halls.
What used to be a large hall of tables and buffet style servings was now a completely different scene.
You looked around as you entered, noticing that the plain white columns of the room were now decorated with silver glittering swirls, and the boring baby blue wallpaper now a deep royal red.
Hanging from the ceiling were four stunning and extremely expensive looking crystal chandeliers, ones that would surely make the Buckingham Palace look like a cheap hotel.
The place looked like a ballroom fit for only the most wealthy of royalty.
The enchanted rippling floor from the Temple now gracing the previously white marble, which only increased the sense of a mystical fantasy.
You followed the boys through the crowds of elegantly-dressed students, making your way towards the edge of the dance floor.
Other students were already dancing, looking just as brilliantly talented as the ones you had creative class with.
"Wow.." you breathed, mentally cursing yourself for your two left feet.
You watched on in awe as the students glided across the enchanted floor, their steps rippling outwards and making it look like they were dancing on water.
It was the stuff of fairy-tales, where Princes and Princesses existed.
Like some kind of Disney movie.
You were entirely enchanted.
You were so busy watching that you didn't even notice that Jimin had positioned himself in front of you.
Looking over just as he began to bow, he slowly extended a hand out towards you.
"May I have this dance?" He asked softly, eyes locking onto yours.
Oh sh*t
Oh f**k
I can't dance!!
"I-uh-"
"Don't worry," He started, as if he had been listening to your thoughts this whole time, "I'll guide you."
Without a second thought you placed your hand in his, your breathing becoming uneven as you followed him out into the middle of the dance floor.
You froze as he turned to you, gently pulling you into him as he wrapped a hand delicately around your waist.
Your eyes followed as his other hand clasped onto yours, bringing it up to signal the start of your dance.
Focusing with all your might, you mimicked his steps, counting 3's in your head as you attempted to keep a smile on your face.
One, two, three
One, two, three-
"You're doing great," Jimin whispered, bending slightly to whisper into your ear.
His sudden words broke you out of your intense concentration, causing your foot to crash heavily down onto his.
You looked down in a panic, only now remembering that you were wearing stilettos this evening.
Oh my god...
Don't tell me I've broken his foot!
Your eyes flickered between your feet and the grimace now plastered on your dance partner's face.
"Ohmygod, Jimin! I-I'm so sor-"
"Its okay, I'm okay" He forced a smile through gritted teeth, pulling you in closer from where you had stepped away from him.
"I'm the worst dance partner," You whispered hopelessly into Jimin's ear, the disappointment you felt for yourself not lost in your tone.
Jimin chuckled, his head leaning against yours as he pulled you even closer into him.
"I wouldn't want to dance with anyone else."
You smiled widely as your heart swelled in your chest, his comment singing through your ears like your favorite song.
Two more dances must have passed and neither of you had moved from where you were leaned against each other, the intimate moment far too sweet to break.
It wasn't until you caught Taehyung running up to you both out of the corner of your eye that you finally, and reluctantly, leaned away from Jimin.
"Jiminie!" The boy called, nearly running both of you over in his attempt to slow down from his sprint.
"Yah! Watch it Tae!" He snapped, his annoyance from the sudden disturbance making you smirk slightly.
"S-Sorry Jiminie.. I um- the captain wants to talk to us!" He rushed out, pointing in the direction of a group of senior boys off the side of the dance floor.
Jimin looked at you, eyeing your reaction before looking back at Taehyung.
"Its okay" You said softly, smiling at the two boys in front of you, "Go!"
Jimin paused for a moment, his hand still lingering on your waist before Taehyung grabbed him.
"Come on!" He urged.
"-It's okay Jimin, I was just about to cut in anyways"
Yoongi's smooth voice suddenly interjecting made a chill run straight down your spine, making you whip your head around to meet his cool and calm gaze.
Your eyes flickered back to Jimin just in time to see what looked like a hint jealousy flicker across his face before he gave his hyung a quick nod.
Yoongi walked around to stand in front of you, nudging Jimin out of the way before his hand snaked around your waist.
"I-I'll be back" Jimin stuttered out, eyes flickering to you briefly before looking back at Yoongi.
You didn't have time to react before the senior boys whistled at the two boys in front of you, clearly calling for their attendance to the impromptu meeting.
With one last pull from Taehyung, Jimin was making his way off the dance floor.
Leaving you completely alone with the fire boy.
The warmth that was now present made you subconsciously lean closer to him, its instant comfort making you forget all about your lack of dance skill.
"You look so beautiful tonight" Yoongi hummed, his close proximity dawning on you as you felt his lips brush against your ear.
Your cheeks burned wildly at his out of the blue remark, making you bury your head further into him in hopes that he wouldn't see.
His light chuckle at your movements made goosebumps form on your sensitive skin.
"Look at me," He whispered again, nudging your cheek playfully with his nose.
You buried your head further into him, a desperate attempt to hide your ever-growing embarrassment.
"Y/N," He whispered, this time a little more seriously.
The tone of his voice made you pause.
Oh god.
What the hell am I doing.
You slowly turned your head, half-expecting the boy to be grimacing at you because of how unintentionally affectionate you were being.
However, as your eyes met his, you felt the earth fall beneath your feet.
Where you expected there to be a playful smirk, there was a serene expression, his eyes half-lidded as he stared at you with what you could only describe as extreme intensity.
His gaze flickered down to your lips as you stayed un-moving a few inches from his face, the action making your heart start to pound loudly against your ribs.
Oh god oh god oh god!
This isn't happening!
Before you could say anything he was starting to lean closer to you, his eyes closing as he inched towards you.
It wasn't until his lips almost brushed against yours that you finally spoke.
"W-Wait-" you stuttered, panting slightly as you tried to figure out what the hell just happened.
Yoongi leant away from you, his eyes scanning yours as if he was trying to read your thoughts through your expression.
But even you couldn't decipher your thoughts in this moment.
Did I want to kiss him?
The thought washed over you for a moment before realizing that you really weren't sure.
There was no denying that you had some kind of connection with Yoongi.
Even if you couldn't quite understand what that connection meant.
But Jimin..
and I-
As the water boy entered your thought process, your eyes flickered over to the side of the crowd, gaze almost immediately finding what you were desperately hoping not to find.
The broken expression of Jimin, eyes locking onto yours with such pain that you felt tears immediately well up in your eyes.
Your hand flew up to your chest, the look on his face causing you to feel like your heart was breaking.
You took one last look at a confused Yoongi, completely conflicted over all these emotions that were washing over you.
What have I done...
In a sudden panic you stepped away from the fire boy, turning and immediately running away from him.
The crowd around the dance floor was so dense that you started shoving people out of your way as you darted towards the doors to the banquet hall.
No no no no
Your mind raced as you ran down the hallways towards your dorm.
"Y/N! Y/N wait up!"
The voice of your bunk bed immediately taking the shock out of your system, you turned on your heels, slamming yourself into him with a sob.
"Kookie take me to the dorm! Please!" You pleaded.
"What happened!? Are you o-"
"Please Kookie!" You urged again.
With a quick look into your eyes he hooked an arm around you, dragging you down the hallway towards the dorm without another word.
Once you were both inside he >had> helped unzip the giant dress, leaving for only the time it took for you to get into your PJs, before returning to tuck you into bed.
"Do you want to talk about it?" He whispered softly, tucking your hair behind your ears as he stared at you from where he stood on the bunk stairs.
You shook your head, turning to face away from him, unable to look at anyone in your shame.
A comforting hug from behind later and Jungkook had let himself out of the room, leaving you all alone in darkness.
You had cried quietly into your pillow for what seemed like hours, the expressions of both boys faces reeling through your mind like a never-ending nightmare.
At some point a purple haze covered your vision, the boys faces finally dissipating as calmness suddenly washed over you.
The last of your energy ran out as you felt yourself falling into a dream.
The faint calls of the familiar voice of the garden woman ringing through your ears as you slept.
---
You must have been out for a long time.
When you finally woke up, sunlight was streaming in through the windows and the dorm room was completely abandoned.
You laid there for a moment, going through all the events of the day before in your head.
Your eyes grew wide just as you brought your wrist up to your line of sight, sighing as you realized that part was true.
You really were An elemental enchantress.
F**king fantastic...
You had to stop yourself from going through the memories any further, knowing all too well nothing good would come of it.
Instead, you hopped out of bed and headed to the kitchen in the hopes that a strong cup of coffee would clear the clouds in your head.
Must have been all the hooker incense from that ridiculous Celestial Ritual
You walked out into the common room, eyeing a few of the boys lounged out on the sofa watching one of the Avengers movies.
They were so engrossed in the film they didn't even notice as you passed behind them.
You were secretly thankful as you made your way into the empty kitchen, flicking on the coffee machine before turning back to the fridge to get the milk.
"Morning Y/N,"
The unmistakable voice of the fire boy made you freeze up instantly.
All the memories from the banquet flooding back to you as soon as you heard him speak.
Him leaning into you in slow-motion on the dance floor, imprinted firmly into your memories.
Oh sh*t
Damn it!
"M-Morning" You stuttered out, quickly grabbing the milk and bringing it over to your cup, careful not to make eye contact with him.
"Sleep well?" He asked, emotions unreadable in his neutral tone.
"Mhmm" You hummed, too nervous to use your voice again.
You quickly finished making your coffee, fully intending to run back to your room before Hoseok came to stand in front of you.
"Good morning Y/N!" He sang happily, wrapping his arms around you instantly.
It was a desperate struggle to keep yourself from spilling your hot coffee all over him.
"Good morning Hobi!" You muttered back to him, unable to be annoyed at the actual ball of sunshine.
"The principal came by earlier, she wants you to go down to her office once you're awake!" He said, passing you and stepping into the kitchen, "Since you're awake now, I would get down there!"
Normally this kind of thing would be nerve-racking, not to mention completely irritating on a day off.
I mean, who really wants to be called to the principals office?
But honestly, anything that got you away from Yoongi and Jimin was more than welcomed today.
"Thanks!" You blurted out, turning back towards your room so you could grab some clothes.
You managed to get ready in record time, not even bothering with makeup as you threw on the sweater Jungkook gave you and a pair of leggings.
Slipping into your runners on the way out the door, you didn't even pause when your bunk bud called out to you.
You practically ran down the corridor, eyes scanning for the signs on the walls directing you to her office.
You hadn't actually been there before, and you really had no intention of ever finding out, the fact she was Ji-Hye's mother was a pretty good reason for avoiding her at all costs.
Rounding the corner past your Charms class, you made your way up a narrow set of winding stairs to an old wooden door.
'Principal's Office'
You read the sign a couple times over, taking in a few deep breaths before reaching your hand out to knock on the door.
Before your fist even made contact with the wood you heard the booming authoritative voice of the principal from the other side.
"Come in Y/N."
What the hell....
