"Set my sights on where I'm going, and my goodbyes to where I've been..."

Of course, like a kick to the jaw, Cole had started taking care of himself. He kept trying to talk to me, but I'd either walk away or slap him.

Guess it depended on the moment.

My crew was always there to cheer me up. They didn't try to disclude Cole, but on a few occasions they accidentally did. Whoops.

Nya looped her arm through mine as we walked down the streets of Ninjago. Jay kept yammering on in our ears over the intercoms placed discreetly behind our ears. "Jay shut up." I hissed through my teeth and Nya laughed. We were undercover, working on following up with a tip. Someone had called and said there was an underground weapons ring, lead by Scales. Currently, we had an alliance with the slithering scum (who almost had me killed me). There were reports that a few of Chen's goons still floating around, delivering weapons with Scale. Nya and I were going to meet up with our tipper who said could be our contact for this mission.

I followed her to a little street between two towering city buildings. I crossed my arms and leaned back against the wall, where we were supposed to meet our contact. "Eyes up boys, we don't know who this guy is or if we can trust him." I warned the guys on the other end of my receiver.

"Zane, are we in the right place?" Asked Nya after a few minutes past us by.

The robotic voice came in staticky a few heartbeats later. "Correct. It is past the appointed time to meet. Perhaps you should abort."

I shook my head. "Not happening, Z. We need this contact so we can take down this ring. We'll wait. Be prepared for coming as backup."

Jay giggled into our ears and a happy "yes!" was heard. He must've been happy about wanting to come.

"Just be careful." Came a soft remark. Cole.

"Can it." I growled angrily. I didn't care to hear his opinion on anything with my team.

Nya smacked my arm rapidly as a figure rounded the corner. He was tall and lean, with short brown hair, buzzed on the sides. His clothes gave him a punk vibe and to be frank, I was kind of digging it.

"Are there any good restaurants around here you could recommend?" He asked. Code.

"Chen's." Nya retorted as I nodded.

He sighed, and came a few steps closer. "Here's the deal, hotties."

I heard Nya almost choke as Jay and Cole went crazy over the com.

I rolled my eyes as he continued. "They've been smuggling weapons from a fast food joint on 34th. Order something super specific, they'll give you a specific weapon. Scales and Chop run the place, but no one sees them there."

I pushed off the wall and walked past him. "Come on." I muttered and he followed. I heard Nyas footsteps behind us, and our contact wrapped his arm around my waist.

I flinched, but he pulled me closer. "Look like a couple, people stare less." He whispered and winked at me.

"Name." I demanded with the roll of my eyes.

"Jax, babe. Want my number too?"

I laughed and shook my head. "Maybe later, hot stuff. Y/N. That's Nya." I threw my head back to my best friend and she waved, a little uncomfortable with Jax.

"So I'm thinking we pose as buyers, and infiltrate."

"Sounds simple enough. But, it won't be that easy, Cupcake. It's a drive through only. Try all you want, but it'll be easier for them to escape."

With a frown as I thought, I pulled his hand from off my waist and around my shoulders, holding his hand.

"True. Hey, Jay."

"Yes, dear sister?"

"Need a job? If we could get you to work at this place, it would be easier to infiltrate."

Jax looked at me weird, thinking I was talking to myself.

"Would that be the wisest? Perhaps two should go." suggested Zane. I tilted my head and thought.

"I think big bro could do it."

Jax nodded, catching on. "Two would raise more eyebrows than one."

"Is that the contact? Is he treating you well?"

"Shut up, Cole." I heard Nya say as she defended me. I looked back at her and flashed a smile.

"I could get your brother an interview. Tuesday." Jax said with a smile, pulling me closer to him.

"Tuesday, then." I reached into my back pocket, pulling out a disposable phone. "I suppose this works for my number, hmm? Call and ask for wisdom tea. That way I know it's you and not some other cute guy off the street."

"I would never." Jax laughed and pressed a kiss to my forehead. "I'll count it as a date then, my sweet. Tuesday."

"Did you just romance yourself into a date with our contact?"

"I have no clue."
