The Hammock
Alex slowly rocked the Hammock with his foot as his boyfriend, John Laurens, lay on his chest. He had fallen asleep and looked so peaceful.
His freckles were perfectly scattered across his clear skin and his curley hair was tied bavk with a red ribbon but still looked beautiful.
He was perfect.
Alex slowly rocked the hammock with one foot in the hopes of keeping him asleep. He was wearing a short sleeved shitt which he never did. It showed off every one of his imperfect scars.
When John came out to his father, he was beaten. That was the time he dcided he wasn't good enough and let his own blood spill.
His boyfriend at the time, was no better. He constantly told John how nad he was and that no one would ever love him. He made John want to die. But he wasn't worth the pity that his bohfriend would get when he died.
Then Alex found him. They were old friends but lost touch when John got with his abusive boyfriend.
Alex remebered that night. It was on of the greatest and worst of his life.
The sunlight glowed as alex walked home from his work. He lived in New York and worked at some office job where he was at the top. He would take over if anything happended to his boss, Washington, but Alex liked how it was.
He took a shortcut down an alley when he heard quiet sobs. He froze in his spot. It was creepy to hear crying around midnight in an alleyway. He looked around for the noise. And that's when he saw him.
He saw a small boy, curled up, hugging his knees to his chest and sobbing. Alex took out his phone and shone the flashlight in him. He'd never forget his face.
It was John. But he had tears streaming from his red and puffy eyes. The green dazzle he knew was faded to a duller look. His hair looked tangled and messy, unlike he ever had it, he had a white shirt on but it was..... covered in blood.
"J-John?" Alex asked. John looked up at him. He looked liek he was completely and untterly terrified. Alex saw where the blood pooling around his stomache. He put his hand out and John flinched back.
He put his phone away and picked john up, btidal style. John couldn't stop crying as Alex held the shaking boy. "Shh, john. It's alright." Alex whispered, walking to his house. It was only 5 minutes away.
He opended the door to his house and brought John inside. He made it to the bathroom and sat John down on the sink's counter. In the light, he saw where the blood came from. A shallow cut on his stomache. Barely leaving a scar.
Alex took John's shirt off and gently cleaned the blood off around the cut. "I'm calling an ambulence." Alex said, putting his hand in his pocket to grab his phone. John quickly grabbed his arm.
"P-Please... D-Don't call anyone." He sobbed. His voice sounded desprate. Alex slowly took hisnhand out of the pocket. "Okay, Okay. I'm just gunna clean you up then." Alex reassured.
He got to work on cleaning his cut. John was still trembling which made it harder but eventually he had cleaned it up. "Go ahead and take a shower, okay?" Alex said gently. John nodded and Alex left.
Alex sat on his bed, waiting for about 10 minutes before John came out, he was wearing one of Alex's shirts and some leggings. He was still slightky trembling. He sst on the bed next to Alex and leaned his head on Alex's shoulder.
"John." He said calmly. "What happend."
John didn't look at Alex. Alex saw the tears that pooled in his eyes, and from his silence, Alex assumed he didnt want to talk about it. He put his arm around John comfortably. "Hey, it's okay." Alex said softly.
John closed his eyes and fell into Alex's touch. "Get some sleep, John." He said, picking john up and tucking him in. He turned to leave but was sfopped by John grabbing his arm.
"S-Stay?"
"Stay?"
"Stay."
So alex laid down with John. He held John as he snuggled up and closed his eyes. Alex kissed his forhead and ran his fingers threw his hair.
"I love you, John." He said quietly
"I love you too, Alex" John said sleepily
John eventually came around and told alex about what his boyfriend and father did to him. Alex stayed at John's side for a long time. He moved his work to home and made sure no one else made John uncomftorble.
How they got together, well that's another story.
But now, they lay on a hammock. One asleep well the other slowly rocks them back and forth. The sun glows and a light breeze blew around them as they took in the peaceful momment.
It was perfect.
A//N: Oooo. That was cringy.
