Twelve

Melody tossed and turned all night, wondering if she'd hear from Sandor before it was time to go to the church. Today was the day. The day she was giving up her life so her brother could fulfill his dream. If Sandor didn't show, Melody didn't know what she would do.

Sitting up in bed, Melody rubbed her tired eyes. She knew it would take a ton of make-up to cover up the dark circles under them. She barely had time to process when the door opened and Dotty walked in. Melody's glare could have frozen beer. "M-Miss Baratheon? It's time to start getting ready." Melody got up and stalked over to the maid. Dotty's green eyes were wide with fear. Melody pulled her hand back, ready to slap the woman, but thought better of it. "You know what? No. It's not worth it. You want to sleep with Jaime? Fine. You can have him. You want his kids? Have them. I don't care. They'll be the only kids he has because he's not sleeping with me."

Melody turned away and walked into her bathroom. "Send in Madeline. She can help me get ready. You're dismissed, Dotty." Dotty ran from the room like she was on fire and Melody smirked a little. Then, her mind went back to the night before, when Sandor shut the door in her face and she began to cry. She cried as she showered and got ready for the day.

All throughout the day, Melody felt miserable. A wedding day was supposed to be one of the happiest days of your life. Not for Melody. She didn't want to be there. She wanted to be with Sandor. All day, she waited to hear his voice or to see his giant form. He never showed and, before she realized, it was time for Melody to go to the church.

At the church, Melody waited just outside the room with Stannis until she heard the music. Melody plastered on a smile as the doors opened. This was it. The moment she'd been dreading for months. She was about to get married. She had a death grip on her brother's arm. Stannis grimaced and muttered, "Calm down, Melody. It is only a wedding." She narrowed her blue eyes at him.

"It isn't only a wedding and you know it," she hissed, gripping his arm a little tighter as they began their short trek down the aisle. Melody's eyes scanned the room. Most people were smiling, some whispering at how beautiful Melody looked. Davos' smile was a sad one. Then, Melody's eyes landed on Jaime.

Standing at the altar in his tux, his vest was red and his tie a golden color, Jaime looked as handsome as ever. But, of course, it wasn't Jaime that Melody wanted to be standing up there. She didn't even want to be there. She just wanted to run out, but Stannis kept a tight grip on her arm until they reached the altar. Only then did he let Melody go and the minister immediately began the ceremony. Melody felt trapped. Jaime said all his vows perfectly, his green eyes never leaving Melody. Then, it was Melody's turn. That was when she heard it.

The sounds of a motorcycle came from outside. Everyone started looking around for the source, but the priest continued. "Do you, Melody June Baratheon, take Jaime Lannister to be your husband?" Melody opened her mouth, ready to seal her fate. "I-" Her eyes flicked between Jaime and the window, where the motorcycle had stopped, and saw him. He got off the bike and removed his helmet. Sandor! He was there!

"NO!" Melody cried. Everyone in the church gasped and started whispering. Melody turned to leave. She wanted nothing more than to run to Sandor. Unfortunately, Stannis stood in her way. "What are you doing? Get back up there and marry him." Before Melody could argue, Davos put his hand on Stannis' shoulder. "Let her go."

Melody kissed Davos' cheek and pushed passed Stannis. She tossed her bouquet behind her and ran outside to where Sandor was waiting. When she exited the church, Sandor straightened up. Melody ran over to him and threw her arms around his neck, kissing him deeply. "You came," she whispered. "Yeah. Couldn't let ya marry him after all."

Melody pressed her lips to his again and he chuckled into the kiss. "Come on. Let's get out of here. You've got a theater ta open. I already called Varys." Melody laughed and let go of Sandor. He climbed on the bike with Melody behind him. She wrapped her arms around his waist. "I love you." He smirked. "I love ya, too." Melody kissed in between his shoulders and he sped off. Her veil flew off her head, landing in the street just outside the church where Jaime, Stannis, and Davos all stood on the steps, mouths hanging open as they watched them speed away.

(a/n: That's the end. I know it's not as good as "Crossing Worlds", but for some reason, it just didn't come as easily as I was hoping. I hope you enjoyed it anyway. There may be an epilogue, but no promises. Thank you for putting up with my sporadic updates.)
