CHAPTER 21
“Get the fuck out.” Draven muttered, his expressions remained indifferent and I watched Vincent open his mouth to defend himself but shut it right back when Draven shot him a glare, causing my smirk to deepen. This felt so wrong and right at the same time.
My eyes wandered onto Vincent for a few minutes before he left the room, leaving only Draven and I in the room.
“Well, that was quiet refreshing.” I mumbled to myself and didn’t find it surprising when Draven shot me a deadly glare, attempting to warn me but clearly failing miserably because I couldn’t care less.
“You’ve forgotten your place, Adriana.” He started slowly, emphasizing each and every word, causing my eyebrows to shoot up.
“Can’t you just get to the point? You didn’t have to interrupt us.” I muttered under my breath, an image on Vincent’s expression flashing through my mind.
“There was nothing to interrupt.” He sounded as if he was trying to convince himself into believing those words and I mentally rolled my eyes.
“And it was getting to the good part too.” I breathed in, slightly annoyed that he the ruined moment. I’d be lying to myself if I said that I didn’t want his lips on mine. Silence clouded the room and I turned to look at Draven, who was now staring at me in both confusion and disbelief.
“I suggest you keep your mouth shut, doll face.” He finally masked on an expressionless look and I raised a brow, attempting to challenge him. Honestly, his cocky attitude was pissing me off right now.
“I said it once and I’ll say it again, Draven. We were just getting to the good part when your egoistic-” before I could finish, Draven took not one, but several steps forward and out of instinct, I backed away, trying my best to ignore his eyes that were now burning holes through my face.
“You’re staying away from him.” He inched even closer as I backed away to the nearest wall, slightly wishing that I didn’t piss him off. It’s not like it’s getting me anywhere.
“Or what?” I bit the inside of my cheeks when his eyes turned completely black, piercing his deep blue eyes right into my soul, as if he was searching for something inside them.
“I swear to fucking god, Adriana, cut the damn attitude or I’ll make sure you regret it!” He hissed and spat at the same time, caging me in between his hands as soon as I tried to slip away. For a few seconds, I remained silent, not exactly scared by his yelling but a little intimidated by how close his body was to mine right about now.
“Whatever.” My voice softened and I waited for him to take a step back but he stood his ground, the heat radiating from his body, making me feel a little uncomfortable. Why was my heart still racing like this? I thought I wasn’t supposed to feel any emotions?
“If I find out Dexter did anything to you, and if that’s the reason why you’re acting like this then-”
“I’m hungry.” I cut him off, slightly shocked that he was already catching on to what was going on. His eyes softened at my words and I watched him frown a little before letting out a sigh in exasperation.
“Go.” He said shortly, his eyes not leaving mine for even a second and I returned the stare.
“Don’t be such a spoilt sport, Draven. It was just a kiss.” I taunted, raising my hand up to caress his cheeks but gasped when he grasped them, his eyes still fixated on mine.
“Don’t-you-fucking-go-there, doll face.” He said through gritted teeth and I scowled at him before yanking my hand away forcefully.
“Bite me.” I hissed, brushing, more like pushing past him and leaving the room.

“Did you calm down, princess?” Tyrell’s voice echoed through the dining room and I nibbled on my food before looking at him, my eyes boring into his with no emotion.
“After everything we did for you, you just go ahead and betray us-”
“Danny, let it go.” Jason cut in, shooting me a glance and I pushed back the comeback before continuing to eat my food.
“When was the last time we had a party?” Ferra said out of the blue and I gulped down my drink before my thoughts drifted onto another plan to steal the box.
“We can have one tonight, if that’s alright with you guys. I think we all need to loosen up a bit.” Kevin breathed and I heard the guys nod in agreement. Didn’t they just finish an event? It’s already so late but then again, maybe this was a great way to get them distracted tonight while I sneak in and steal the box from Draven’s room.
“I’m in.” I said, standing up from the chair and I watched the boys give me a look in surprise before they grinned with a nod.
“She’s not staying for the party.” Vincent’s voice was now laced with venom and I sent him a glare before masking on a blank expression.
“Oh come on, not like she’s ever stayed for the feeding willingly.” Edward whined and the boys agreed, causing a smirk to tug on my lips.
“Draven is never going to-”
“Relax, not like we would drink from her anyways, take a fucking chill pill, Vincent.” Raymond mocked and the boys shook their heads with a dark chuckle.
“Plus, you can share a bed with her right after we do.” Finn grinned and I continued to wear on my expressionless mask as Vincent bolted up from the table. It’s not like their words got to me anymore.
“Shut the fuck up, Finn, she’s not a toy you can just mess around with!” he spat for the first time and I flinched at his words.
“What the hell, Vincent?! She wasn’t brought here to be treated like a queen, she’s a fucking blood bag, get the fuck over it!”
“You better take it back before I fucking beat the shit out of you!”
“You both should take a step back and calm down! We’re all fighting over nothing. Nobody’s treating her like a toy or using her.”
“Stay in your place Tyrell, nobody gives a fuck about your opinion! She’s a blood bag and that’s all she’s ever going to be worth!”
Sighing in irritation, I slowly got up from the table and glanced at Ferra, who was now staring at the boys in horror as half of them stepped in front of each other to hold each other back. Did I just do that or…?
“She probably went fucking insane after the way you dickheads treated her! She doesn’t deserve it!”
“Shut your trap already, Vincent, she’s fucking fine. Why the hell are you getting so worked up over a human in the first place?”
“I think she’s been brought back to turn each other against us. It’s Dexter we’re talking about.”
The boys kept arguing as I slowly made my way towards the door, ignoring their presence completely. They can kill each other for all I care.
“You call all shove your fucking opinions up your ass and shut the fuck up now!” Draven’s voice made me come to a sudden halt but I quickly left the dining room, my heart slightly racing faster.
“Let’s just begin the feeding, maybe you guys are just hungry…” I heard Ferra try to sweet talk them before I rushed through the hallway. I’m guessing the party was still going to happen, so might as well change into something else. I slipped on a skin tight red dress and sighed when I realized how much it revealed the shape of my body. Usually, I would be so uncomfortable right about now and would have immediately slipped it off but now, it seems just fine to wear it. Deep down, I knew this didn’t feel right but at the same time, I didn’t want to listen to the voices in my head anymore. They never helped, I was always left to feel helpless and scared but not anymore. I didn’t have to feel those emotions anymore and I’d be lying if I said that I was slightly enjoying all of this. Watching them break into fights, arguing and slowly getting broken? That’s all I ever wanted.
“The fuck are you wearing, Adriana?!”
“Can you breathe two words without cursing, Draven Cruz?” I turned to scowl at him and was about to walk right past him when he grabbed my wrist and yanked me closer to him.
“I’m really starting to lose it with you, doll face.” His eyes held a mix of emotions and I was only able to grasp one of them before he masked on a blank look but it was already too late.
“Don’t tell me you’re jealous?” I accused in surprise and I watched him flinch a little before his eyes grew a shade darker. “Oh, how lovely. Don’t tell me you have feelings for-”
“My standards are a lot higher, doll face, you won’t even fit in the list so I suggest that you stop flattering yourself.” His sarcastic tone pricked my nerves and I scoffed in annoyance before rolling my eyes.
“Then you will have no problem in me leaving like this.” I stated harshly but managed to force a smile.
“By all means,” He mumbled, releasing his grip and moving out of the way for me to leave. “But don’t regret anything after tonight. They’re all going to be drunk, so don’t expect them to let you go off so easily,” He warned and I stopped to take in his words before slightly turning my head to look at him. “And don’t expect me to save your pretty little ass either.” He finished off with a glare and I returned it right back.
“I never asked you to save me from anyone. If anything, I need someone to save me from you, Draven. Your existence itself disgusts me.” I finished with a frown before walking out of the room, leaving an unreadable expression on his face, as if reality had finally hit him. Well, it was about time.

The music blasted through the ballroom and the boys along with some unfamiliar girls danced to the music, laughter erupting through the room as everyone enjoyed the music, including me, of course. Every once in a while, I would check up on the boys, making sure that they were having enough drinks. I needed them all to get wasted tonight, including Draven, which was the only way for me to sneak inside his room.
“Do vampires even get drunk?” I asked Ferra, who laughed a short laugh before nodding, her dance moves already getting sloppy.
“Special wine for the boys, darling! Vervain or some shit would probably be mixed, I don’t know!” she giggled before walking up to Kevin and grinding her back against him, making me scrunch in disgust.
“Let’s get this over with.” I grumbled, pushing past a drunken Raymond and making my way over to Jason, who was now dancing with two girls at the same time.
“Well, well, what a treat.” He sang, eyeing me from head to toe and I lifted up a small smile before motioning the girls to move out of the way. They gave me a look in displeasure and I raised a brow at them as they left, rolling my eyes before wrapping my arms around Jason, who was now staring at me in both surprise and amusement.
“Where is Draven?” I raised my voice, moving my hips and body along with his as he wrapped an arm around my waist, attempting to pull me closer but I held my position.
“Why? Missing your little boy toy?” he grinned, yanking me closer and I frowned up at his accusation.
“I’m pretty sure that it’s the other way around, Jason.” I corrected him, my words dripping in sarcasm and he chuckled darkly before shaking his head in pity.
“Like you didn’t know you had him wrapped around your little fingers for a while now.” His brown eyes peered into my very own and I mentally rolled my eyes at his words.
“Sorry to break your little delusional bubble, Jason, but Draven’s not someone you can-”
“Sorry, but I’m taking her for a minute.” Edward cut in, stepping right in between us and I could hear Jason mutter some colorful words to himself before walking away.
“You look so hot, kitten.” He complimented, taking my hips firmly and pulling me closer to his body.
“Yeah, sure, can you tell me where Draven is?” I questioned, scanning around the room and stopped to look at Vincent, who was now walking inside the ballroom, his eyes darting everywhere. Well, I wonder who he could “possibly” be looking for right now?
“Tell me.” I demanded this time, tangling an arm around his neck and trying my best to hide from Vincent. Obviously he was here to “save” me from this crisis.
“I don’t know, darling. He’s probably getting laid, who cares? Let’s just enjoy the night, just you and me.” His voice turned all seductive and I mentally gagged as he leaned his face closer to meet my gaze.
“Cut the crap before I hurl, Edward, I couldn’t care less about you. I just want to know where he is.” I frowned at him and he started to chuckle before his expressions turned into a more serious gesture.
“You know, I’ve noticed this for quite a while now, Adriana…but you’ve really changed.” He leaned to whisper in my ears, his lips slightly brushing against my earlobes.
“Well, no shit, Einstein. People change.” I started getting impatient and roughly tugged on the back of his blond hair, causing him to hiss in pain.
“True, but we both know that’s not that’s not the case here. What did he offer you?” he questioned, pulling my waist and moving his body along with mine. “Or the real question is, what did he do to you?” he corrected, pulling away and I flinched at his words before averting my gaze, attempting to make it seem like he wasn’t catching onto anything.
“You’re mistaken, Edward. I don’t want anything from anybody-”
“That’s a lie, I can tell.” He cut me off with a small frown and I was about to say something when someone grasped my hand, spinning me around to face Vincent.
“I’ll leave her to you then.” Edward knew better than to argue with Vincent and I groaned in annoyance before glaring up at Vincent.
“The hell is your problem? Why do you keep following me around?!” I yelled and I watched him slightly scan me from head to toe before meeting my piercing gaze.
“Why are you doing this, Adriana?” His soothing soft voice made me feel slightly bad for him but I knew better than to let it get to me.
“Because it’s what I want, alright?!” I threw my hands up in the air and watched him give me a look in concern.
“They’re going to feed on you if you stay here, so please, come with me and we can talk about this. I know you’re mad and angry, I can try to fix it or help and make things better for you-”
“Are you done?” I interrupted and he stood silent for a while before taking my hand.
“Please, just come with me and we can-”
“Only if you have a few drinks with me. If not, then fuck off because I am literally not in the mood right now, Vincent. I need to get something done or-” I stopped rambling when I realized that I had spilled too much and my body tensed up when I felt him squeeze my hands slightly.
“Or what? What do you have to get done tonight?” he questioned, his eyes narrowing down at me now and I continued on playing my little act.
“Vincent, just let me go, please? I just want to get my mind off about everything, that’s why. And you’re not helping me right now.” I decided to play the sympathy card and Vincent being Vincent, fell into my trap way too easily.
“How can I help?” he asked and I bit down a smirk before taking his hand and walking up to a sofa.
“Don’t move.” I instructed before looking around the room and motioning a butler to come up to us. He hurried our way, carrying a tray full of wine and beer and I grabbed a bottle before sitting down on Vincent’s lap, totally catching him by surprise.
“What the hell are you doing-”
“You promised to help me get over it, Vincent. Are you going to keep it or not?” I questioned, glancing up at the several disco balls before averting my gaze back to Vincent, who was now giving me an apologetic look. God, this guy was beyond annoying. All I needed was him and Draven to get drunk enough for me to get that dumb fucking box, why is he being so persistent?
“Come on, please? We can continue where we left off tonight.” I decided to seduce him, my actions and thoughts becoming more and more desperate as I trailed my finger down his jawline, making his whole body tense up at my touch.
“I can’t-”
“Please, for me?” I asked with my puppy dog eyes and I watched him expression soften before he finally gave in.
“Alright, but just one.” He said before grabbing the bottle and gulping down a few sips, making a face in displeasure.
“That’s it?” I questioned when he handed me the bottle and I frowned at him.
“It’s too strong, alright? Maybe another night.” He tried to convince me but I mentally rolled my eyes before taking a sip out of the tequila.
“Adriana, stop! You’re going to-” before he could finish, I leaned into a harsh kiss and I watched him freeze before responding to the kiss, almost making it feel like he was attempting to fight back for the first few seconds before he finally gave in. Our lips moved in sync and I smiled a little when he positioned my legs in a way that they were now wrapped around his torso.
“Another drink?” I broke the kiss forcefully and Vincent let out a gasp, leaning in almost instantly and I backed away a little before raising a brow at him, a smile tugging on my lips again.
“Yeah, sure.” He whispered quickly, his eyes flickering onto my lips and I was about to lean in when I noticed Draven walking inside the ballroom, his eyes searching everywhere frantically before they finally landed on my very own, making him come to a sudden freeze. I could barely see his face right about now and I squinted a little before returning my gaze back to Vincent, who was now biting his lip, his eyes not leaving my lips for even a second.
“I never asked you to hold back.” Was all I had to say before his lips connected to mine again and I kissed him back passionately, purposely wanting to tick off Draven. I don’t know why I thought that this little plan of getting Draven angry as hell would benefit in me getting what I wanted, but I was desperate to let out any hatred I had towards him and the rest of them. Yes, I knew this was wrong, the real me would have never done this but then again, maybe that’s why they were able to push me around so much. And for once? I was tired of it. I’ve had enough and I pray to god that even if I do get my emotions back, I’d never go back to being that whiny, helpless little crybaby.
I slightly opened my eyes a little and stopped when I noticed Draven bolting towards us now, making my heart skip a beat.
“Get the fuck away from her!” was all I heard before my body was literally ripped apart from Vincent’s and I turned to look at Draven, who was now glaring at Vincent, hatred and anger filling his eyes completely, almost making them grow pitch dark. I have seen an angry Draven, yes, but never have I seen him get this furious.
“Draven-”
“She’s not someone you can fucking toy around with, Vincent! If I ever see you touching her again, I won’t hesitate to fucking rip your head off!” he yelled but luckily, the music was a lot louder so there wasn’t any attention drawn towards us, yet.
“I wasn’t trying to use her, she-”
“I came onto him, Draven.” I finally cut him off and before I could explain myself any further, a hand grabbed my wrist before I was practically dragged out of the ballroom and into the dining room, where Draven pushed me to the nearest wall.
“You fucking stay away from him! I don’t ever want to see you near him again!” he growled, his voice laced with venom and I contemplated to whether I should speak out or not. I clearly didn’t want to at this point.
“Why? I wasn’t even doing anything wrong! The other girls got to hook up with all the guys, so why am I treated any differently?!” I snapped, inhaling deeply and my confidence crumbled away when he slammed his hands on either side of my neck on the wall, causing goosebumps to appear all over my body.
“You’re not like other girls, that’s fucking why!” he yelled, not holding back the slightest bit and I’d be lying if I said that I wasn’t a little bit intimidated by now.
“You don’t know that! I could be worse! No, I am worse, and I don’t think that me hooking up with Vincent should concern or bother you in the slightest bit. Why should it in the first place?!” I raised my voice, hating myself for keeping up the argument.
“Because you’re mine and only mine, Adriana. Mine to touch, mine to kiss and mine only! So I do not want another man’s fucking filthy hands on you ever again, have I made myself fucking clear now?” he hissed and spat at the same time, making me wish that I could somehow disappear through the wall that I was pressed against.
“Jeez, why do you have to yell…?” I barely muttered under my breath and I watched his jawline clench in anger, causing me to bite my bottom lips nervously. His eyes flickered on them for a few seconds before meeting my eyes again and I was almost certain that he was going to go in for a kiss but for once, he leaned closer and then stopped halfway, making me slightly flinch at his reaction.
“Get out.” He said shortly, backing away a little and I didn’t even bother to question it, instead I just marched right out of the room and started making my way towards his room. God, this night felt like it was lasting forever and my brain was literally begging to get some sleep by now but did I listen? Of course not, no, I was too busy trying to find ways to steal the damn box.
“Draven could be here any minute but I’m going to take that chance tonight.” I decided, walking right into his room and frantically searching everywhere for a little red box. I tossed the bed sheets, looked under the bed, then inside the wardrobe, praying it was there but sadly there was only a pile of clothes. Feeling rather annoyed, I was about to walk out of the room when I noticed the small table next to the bed with drawer and for some reason, I had a feeling that the box was inside them. Maybe it was just an instinct or guess but either way, I was certain something was in there. Praying silently, I rushed to open it and my pulse started racing when I noticed an ancient looking red box, perfectly placed inside it. Without even hesitations or second thoughts, I grabbed it and opened it, hoping to find some kind of portion of Vervain but to my utter disappointment, there was nothing. For a few minutes, I just stared inside the empty box, my mind going completely blank. Was I supposed to be angry, frustrated or sad? I couldn’t tell anymore.
“And all that for nothing…” I trailed away before breaking down into a laughter, my whole body suddenly becoming numb and weak. Why am I hysterically laughing like this again?
“This is all his fault.” I mumbled weakly, my eyes drooping a little before I forced myself to stand up straight.
Before I could think straight, I found myself making my way out of the room and up the stairs. After a few minutes, I finally got up to the terrace and a cold breeze greeted me as I stepped into the terrace, my eyes scanning around the empty surrounding before I walked to the very edge of the terrace, my mind feeling a little dizzy.
“God, I hate this place,” I breathed in, glancing at the huge pool before turning to look towards the tall buildings up ahead of me now. “He fucking took whatever was inside the box and hid it. Did he know what I was up to?” I asked myself, chuckling darkly but I knew that I was more than furious from the inside.
“Adriana-” I heard Draven’s voice call out and I looked up to watch him walk inside the terrace, his movement suddenly coming to a halt upon noticing me. “Get back inside, it’s late.” He said finally and I shot him a glare out of hatred before shaking my head furiously.
“What’s inside the box, Draven? Did you know that I was trying to find it? Is that why you hid it beforehand and played with me the whole night?!” I raised my voice at each question and I watched him give me a confused look before stepping forward.
“What the hell are you talking about? What box?” he questioned in confusion and I sighed in frustration.
“Like you didn’t know I was trying to get it the whole night! You played me again and I am so tired of it! You think you’re always one step ahead, getting all cocky and-”
“What the fuck are you ranting on about now? I didn’t do anything-” he stopped when I backed away a little more and I watched him frown a little.
“You’re going to fall, doll face, come here before I make you.” He raised his voice but I knew that he was more concerned than angry by now.
“No.” I said with no emotion and I watched him shoot me a glare.
“Damn it, Adriana, get the fuck away from there!” he yelled and I simply scoffed at his outburst. He was about to take another step forward when I backed away a little more and I watched him stiffen in his position, his eyes suddenly filling with complete worry before his expressions softened.
“If you take one more step, I swear to god, I’ll jump right off. I have nothing to lose, Draven.” I threatened for the first time and I watched his eyes widen at my words, the color on his face completely getting drained away.
“Stop fucking playing around and get away from there, Adriana! I am fucking serious right now.” He started and I couldn’t help but chuckle a little.
“I am playing with you? Sorry to break it to you honey, but last I heard, Draven Cruz cannot be played around with. It’s you who’s playing with me!” I snapped, walking near the edge and I watched him take a few steps forward before I shot him another warning glare, causing him to freeze.
“Alright, just calm down. We can talk about this inside so come here for now.” His voice softened with concern but I didn’t care.
“No, I think it’ll be fun jumping off a mansion.” I decided to play him a little and heard him hiss at my words before letting out a frustrated growl.
“Just please, alright? Come here, I’m trying to be nice here.” He raised his voice, rubbing the back of his neck and I gave him a blank look before shaking my head and edging further away.
“Don’t,” his voice was getting more and more desperate and I looked at him in amusement before sighing. “Baby please, come here…” he started with a pleading voice, as if he was attempting to convince me to save myself.
“Let’s see how fast you really are, Draven Cruz.” I stated softly and I heard Draven say something close along the lines, “Adriana, please…” before I closed my eyes shut. It’s too late.
“Fucking don’t-” was all I heard Draven say before I let my body drop down the mansion.
