Hidden Love
[ Collision ]
_______
Why would you even care...
You never truly cared...
And you won't.
-
Because you never thought
About me as much as I thought
About you.
______
As the hotel waiter opened the door, our lady headed over to the lobby and placed herself on the dark brown leather sofa in the wide, tasteful designer resort. The air was kept fresh and cool in the building, and not only exotic flowers were decorating the space, well-known art did it too.
Folks from the high society were staying in this hotel. There were Europeans, Americans and all other wonderful busy people from different kinds of ethnicities who were meeting other partners to chat or hold some business talks.
It was past 10 minutes as her friend Jay still didn't arrive.
"Looks like he forgot... Well not something unusual... I should've expected that hah..." She said in a quiet voice disappointed to herself.
Then she noticed Jay looking all over the place, searching for her. She stood up holding her right hand up in the air, waving slightly, so he could maybe notice her better. And then he finally walked over to her with a wide smile on his face.
"Hey it's nice to see you." They embraced each other.
As they sat down next to one another, Louise noticed something that irritated her understanding of beauty.
"Jay... Your shirt is wrong buttoned..." She pointed at his white shirt which was tucked into his black ripped pants with silver chains.
"Huh? O-oh, yeah, thanks, I was in a hurry" he added while laughing awkwardly and buttoning his shirt right.
As both of them sat down, Louise started :
"Since we hadn't had the opportunity last time to talk with each other, I thought that it would be good if we just catch up a little bit, don't you think so? I'd also like to apologize for the last time." She smiled slightly while laying her out of nervousness sweaty hands on her knees.
The young waitress brought the water and poured it in their glasses.
"No, it's not a big deal, Louise" He added intertwining his long, slender fingers.
"I would have acted the same if I was him..."
She smiled at his remark.
_______
- "You don't know how often
I blamed myself
for not reaching out to you.
...
How often did I regret
not approaching you..." -
_______
"How is your writing process going? You need to tell me under which name you write!"
She said enthusiastically with her eyes full of sparkle.
"I'm still writing... it's... it's not done yet..."
He looked up at her.
"Ahh... so that's how it is..."
She added
[ Silence overtook them both... ]
It wasn't an awkward silence between them. And it had never been...
Whenever there was suddenly a silence part in their conversation,
neither of them felt uncomfortable or not right at the moment...
It was more of an pause between their lingual interaction.
Louise looked up from her glass as Jay started to speak.
"Isn't the weather beautiful today?"
The sweet girl started to chuckle, covering her mouth.
"You haven't changed at all, Jay..."
"And you neither, Louise... Still laughing at no matter what I say.."
She punched him in the shoulder as he gave her a charming, satisfied smile.
That smile which she never could resist and which made her heart beat faster. It was the smile which could light up her day, which could make her believe in love again... Which gave her hope... In their non-existent relationship.
"But that's because it is that typical phrase you often said back then when we were talking with each other!"
"Oh? Did I really?" The young guy looked to the side trying to make the impression of thinking.
"Still as extraordinary as always..."
Louise added while shaking her head. She then took a sip of her sparkled water.
"But tell me honestly Louise... Is he really your boyfriend?"
The girl choked hard on her water and even spilled some of the liquid.
"I mean... ... I still- ... ... never mind...." He averted his gaze blushing.

{ The Truth Untold }
_______
"I just saw you two all over the internet and... I just wanted to tell you that you should be careful, since... He doesn't look as flawless as he seems to be..." He shrugged his shoulders, pressing his lips together.
The smile faded of Louise's face.
"Are you getting jealous?"
She asked, narrowing her eyes and continuing her sentence.
"You know what?
We all have our scratches
and our scars...
We can seem perfect
from the outside,
but there are still
traces of hardships
and pain on the inside
which we can't always
show to other people...
And that's why...
We shouldn't judge over somebody's decisions if we don't know what they had to choose from."
"So... You really like him?"
He asked while circling the liquid in his glass and leaning forward with his elbows resting on his thighs.
"It's not just a thing you two made up in front of the media...?"
_______
- "Why would you even care...?" -
_______
What a strange question for a first meeting Louise thought. She then remembered all those times she had to endure with her crush and finally came to the conclusion to play by the rules.
She decided to draw a line and set a statement.
-" How much jealous can you get? "-
A slight grin formed over the ladies delicate lips and a mixed look of mischievousness but also sadness was seen on her face.
"Yes, I do, from the bottom of my heart" she looked him in the eyes and also leaned in more forward.
"And never did I love anybody stronger than I do love him." Crescendo filled her voice as she gazed coldly on the floor.
Jay looked lost for a second. He didn't expect such an outcome, since he wasn't used to Louise being this honest with him. He was more used to the Louise who would be kind and act cute towards him, somebody who would support him.
But not this time, boy.
Jay tried to put an arrogant face expression on to look more like he didn't care. He narrowed his right eye and let out a short sarcastic chuckle.
The lady wasn't proud of what she just did since she didn't wanted to hurt his feelings.
But why should she even care about his feelings, if he didn't care about hers (at least that was something she assumed to be). The lady just knew that her love was one-sided.
Even back then. No matter how often that dude got told by her friends that she likes him, and no matter how obvious everything what happened around them was... He still never confessed to her and seldom even called her by her name which she desperately wanted to hear out of his mouth.
But she made a decision.
She wouldn't hold back this time
Louise stood up, put her purse around her shoulder and decided to leave.
"I'll be leaving then, if you excuse me."
"... Good luck..." He finally let out a sigh and Louise once more stopped in her traces and looked one last time in his direction furrowing her eyebrows...
It tears
_______
-" I regret it...
But- I can't do anything against it...
... I'm... Sorry...
... It hurts me even more
than you can imagine... " -
_______
My heart apart
Heading outside suddenly her phone started to ring.
