♚: Twenty Second Confession

Levi's eyes snapped open as quick as lightning.

He was woken up by a shout and tried to sit up, but another migraine rushed to his head, and he winced. He groaned in agony and closed his eyes for a brief moment. He was even colder than before, and the pain all over his body had grown more, like he just fell off a building.

"Levi? Levi?" a voice repeated over and over again. To Levi, the voice was angelic and soft.

"'Ren.. E..." his voice was cracked and almost silent as he spoke.

"God. You're dying," the voice exclaimed in panic and fear.

He blacked out once more.

---

It was very difficult dragging Levi out of the hole and to the cabin because first of all, he was heavy despite his height. He lay him on the single bed and threw all of his blankets over his stiff body. He quickly went straight to the pile of waiting logs and tossed them in the fireplace and later spent more than fifteen minutes trying to make a fire using flint and steel, but it was hard compared to bringing Levi to the house. He looked worriedly at him from over his shoulder and shook his head. He looked more exhausted than Eren. After he finally created a small but strong burning flame, he limped over to the bed and sat on the side, looking down at Levi and closing his eyes. He told himself he wouldn't ever want to see him again, but what was he supposed to do? Leave him there? He couldn't resist.. after all, Levi did help him too. Sure, he attracted negative attention but he protected him.

Eren's eyes widened as he finally remembered the last time he fed Levi. It had been long ago, and he was probably starving. Eren whipped out his blade from his pocket and gingerly pricked his finger to let a small stream a blood drip through. He gently prodded Levi's mouth open with his hands and stuck his bleeding finger in. It took a few moment before he felt him sucking on it, and Eren shivered at how cold his mouth was. It felt like winter itself. It stung, but he could bear it.

Strangely, his heart pounded in his chest and swelled. Seeing him again made him feel relieved and not so afraid anymore. The emotion of hate and anger he once had for him had disappeared over the time they were separated from one another, which bothered Eren because he knew Levi was a bad guy. He killed people, his parents even, but he couldn't help but feel happy that he was still alive.

As if on cue, Levi eyes opened once more, and widened.

Straining, he pulled his finger away from his mouth and jumped off the bed in a flash. He stared down Eren with burning red eyes and made some sort of hissing sound.

"What...No..." he trailed off. He narrowed his eyes and gripped his jet black hair between his fingers. "What the hell did you do? Why did you do that?"

"Levi," Eren exclaimed. "I found you down there. You were dying-"

"What the hell did you do?" he shouted with anger.

"What do you mean? You were dying," Eren repeated.

"You should have left me, you idiot. You're so stupid."

The tone of voice he was using was like a slap to the face, and lump formed in his throat. He didn't really own Levi anything aside from giving his blood before.

Without another word, the vampire turned and left with the door slamming behind him. Eren ran swiftly after him, his heart beating even louder and his voice silencing the birds as he shouted.

"Levi!" he yelled as he exited after him. "Wait."

The wind blew through their hair. It was almost evening, which cast a warm glow upon the trees and dirt. Everything right then was like a painting with all of its warm colours and contrast, but it was still brisk. Eren shivered as the air grazed his neck.

Levi was running, but he wasn't fast enough enough. Eren could still catch up.

"I said wait!" he shouted. "Levi, please listen to me."

"I did listen to you and you told me to leave you alone. You don't want me, and I don't want you anymore. It's better for the both of us this way. Can't you see?" Levi's voice was a sad and deep, and reminded Eren of dark nights without stars and the clashing waves of the ocean.

"I don't want this!" Eren hollered.

Levi didn't answer and continued to run and dart pass the trees. He felt a bit stronger now that he had a bit of blood, but it wasn't enough for him to bring out his wings and fly away.

"Levi," Eren said. "Levi, Levi, Levi-"

"Shut the fuck up. Leave me the hell alone, I don't want to see your face right now," Levi bellowed. It was extremely difficult for him to lie, painful even. If he were human, he knew his heart would have jumped and pound until it hurt. To be honest, he was glad to see Eren again, happy that he was still alive and talking.

"Levi, please just wait. I need to talk to you about this. I'm sorry."

As Eren sprinted after him, he tripped over a tree root sticking out from the ground. He shouted in pain and tried to get back on his feet, but failed. He dragged himself using whatever upper body strength he had left. He panted with effort, but didn't stop.

"Levi, I'm sorry," he croaked as he buried his nails into the dirt.

Levi halted to a stop and spun around to face Eren. "You know what? I'm the one who should be sorry. I'm the stupid one, walking into your life while knowing you would never...love me. Anyways, I don't want to see you again. You're making it hard for me."

Eren grit his teeth and let his words flow naturally from his mouth.

"I take it back. I take it all back. I'm sorry for telling you horrible things. I don't want you to go. I know I don't deserve it, but I want you to give me a second chance," Eren pleaded. "I don't... I hate being alone."

"How selfish of you," Levi said apathetically. "Literally crawling back to me and begging for me to come back without even thinking how I would feel about this. Although I appreciate your weak attempt at begging, I refuse. If that is all, I must leave." He began to walk away, much slower this time.

Eren shoulder's sagged sadly as his head dipped closer to the soil as he shook his head. "You promised," Eren whispered stubbornly. "You promised you would stay with me. I mean, I believed you. I truly thought you would always stay by my side no matter what I do or say because you loved me. But now I can see that it was a lie, and I'm sorry. I apologize for ever thinking it was true and putting so much burdens on your shoulders. I understand."

He stopped trying to crawl and knew it would be stupidly useless to continue trying. His arms wobbling arms finally gave in, and he fell onto his face with his arms cradling his head. He had one eye peeking out, staring blankly at the tiny rocks in the dirt and the fallen dead leaves scattered all over the forest floor. He could smell the soil, and mentally declared it as a sad scent. Because it seemed that all of the unfortunate events that occurred to him happened in this maze of trees.

He sniffed, and before he knew it himself, he was crying. He didn't intend to, really, it was all too sudden to take in and so he cried. It was like a water tap was pouring through his eyes and dampening his face, and his trembling hands could not catch all of his salty tears, and so he stayed there in complete and utter doom and misery. He let the tears blur his vision.

"God. You're crying, aren't you?" Levi said with a sharp click of his tongue.

"I'm not crying," Eren sobbed. He felt pathetic, but he couldn't do anything about it.

"Eren," Levi spoke. His voice was softer now; the voice of a lover or a friend, not an enemy. "You're not serious are you?" Levi laughed coldly.

"Do you think I'd joke at a time like this?" Eren's voice came out as a strangled sob. "You idiot. Stupid lying and conniving vampire."

"I don't understand-"

"I love you, you bastard. I love you. I'm in love with you, and that's why I missed you so much. I just... I didn't realize it, but it was hard being away from you. I'm sorry." Eren was nearly screaming at this point. He felt like a small child throwing a fit when their mother tells them they can't have the toy they want.

Silence followed after his words, and he assumed Levi had walked away. He bit his lip and buried his face into his new cloak and let the tears drip through it.

He was wrong.

"Eren," Levi muttered. "You better be telling the truth."

He then carried him off the ground and held him tightly held him in his arms. Eren glared at the space in front of him, feeling little bit angry that he gave in so easily. He wanted to prove to himself that he didn't need anyone, and here he was confessing and becoming a crying mess. He felt pathetic and weak, but that was what love did to people.

Love made a mess out of everyone.

---

"Drink," Eren commanded as he shoved his wrist in front of Levi's face as they sat in near the fireplace.

"No," Levi refused. "I already had some."

Eren scoffed. "That was barely any. Come on, Levi. Don't make me feel bad. It would make me feel a lot better if you had something to drink."

"Don't tempt me. I don't want to hurt you."

After helping Eren get back to the cabin, they went straight for the fire. Despite running so much, Eren was still cold that he even had to wear Levi's cloak. Levi sat close to him, but was a few inches away as if trying to cautious. Eren noticed this and frowned.

"You're saying that after what I've been through?" Eren said, remembering all the times where he had been attacked and close to death.

"You're asking for death if you ever offer blood to a thirsty vampire. Don't be stupid and value your life more," he replied and shook his head.

Eren rolled his eyes. "So... Where have you been this whole time? Were you with her?" His voice turned icy as he mentioned her.

"Yes I was," Levi answered honestly.

Levi paused for a brief moment before speaking again. He looked over at Eren.

"What she told you isn't true. I can show you proof." He closed his eyes for a minute. "But I guess to do that, I'll need blood."

Eren smiled once more. "Go ahead," he said and lifted his arm.

Levi looked away. "If you don't mind, I prefer neck."

The boy nodded and removed the layers of clothing from his neck and tipped his head to the side to expose his skin. Levi quickly gave in and gently placed his fangs on the soft flesh. Eren grit his teeth as he felt the needle sharp teeth sink in. He grasped onto Levi's shoulders tightly and let out a groan of pain. He held his bottom lip between his lip until it started to bleed, and flinched when Levi started to suck and lick.

"Levi, it hurts," he whined and held on harder.

It was a cold pain, like being stabbed by tiny glass shards, but he could tolerate it if it was Levi. After a few seconds of discomfort, it soon started to feel good. Levi wasn't drinking, but kissing his skin. Eren shivered. Never in his life had he ever been able to feel good by a pair of lips. When he was younger, he had girlfriends, but none of them ever made him feel the way Levi made him feel.

"Hmmm," he whispered and shifted slightly. "What are you doing?"

"I haven't seen you for so long. Let me indulge." he cooed as he kissed along the side of the human's jaw. He held his head in place, caressing the side of his face as he did so.

In the past whenever Levi bit him there, it was never sexual. It was always because they had to get it done and it was necessary. It was never so intimate, but now it was, and they both were very aware of it. His lips glided downward to his peeking collarbones, and his hands snaked their way to his waist. He let out a gasp as he pulled him closer. He gnawed at them and didn't bother to bite again. Eren curled his fingers into Levi's silky and tugged at it eagerly as the wandering pair of lips made their way to his bare shoulder. He could tell he was being very careful, too careful in fact. He used to bite him like he was in a hurry, but now he was being patient and took his time.

"You taste so good," he said and proceeded to leave a small hickey above his once unmarked collarbone.

"Stop it, Levi, I said you can only drink," Eren said firmly yet nervously tried to gently push him away.

Levi pulled back and frowned. "You're basically telling me to hold back. You told me you love me back. Do you seriously expect me not to do anything to you? That's like setting up a pile of gold in the middle of town and expecting no one to get it. Stupid human," he said with a chuckle as he leaned in closer until the tips of their noses brushed against each other.

"I just want to make you feel good."

With utter and obvious embarrassment, Eren blushed furiously and looked away.

With a small smirk, Levi closed the tiny gap between them and licked at Eren's bottom lip seductively. He went ahead and kissed his soft pink lips as he held the back of his head with one hand while the other rubbed his waist and drew small circles repeatedly on it.

"Levi-"

He parted his lips without any hint or warning and kissed him hard and passionately. Their tongues grazed one another and Eren moaned against the vampire's mouth. Levi had kissed him in the past, that was for sure, but it was never like this one. Eren could hardly stand a small peck before, but now he wanted more. He pulled Levi's hair more roughly than usual and crawled onto his lap, straddling him and making their chests press against each other. Levi could feel Eren's fluttering and speeding heartbeat through his shirt, hear the way it thudded violently as they got lost in the heat of the moment. Nothing else mattered except him.

Eren was hot and cold all at once. His hands trembled, and the tips of his finger tips were cool to the touch. His face was warm. This was all too new to him, being kissed like this and all. His heart was a butterfly inside him, swooping and dropping and going out of control. Levi tugged Eren's lip with his teeth and a few times and never missed the chance to touch all the ridges and edges with his tongue and sucked on the corner of his lips until they were a little swollen.

In that moment, it was the first time in a very long time where Levi could truly say he's happy. The boy he had managed to fall in love with wasn't protesting to his kisses, or telling him how bad of a monster he was. He was kissing him back and was clearly enjoying it, and just that made him feel overjoyed. Eren started to fumble for the buttons of Levi's shirt, and almost unbuttoned one before Levi pulled away, jumped, and landed a few feet from Eren.

Eren was breathing hard. He was so visibly lewd that Levi wanted to attack him again, but held in the urge to do so. His hair was a mess, and a tiny strand of saliva fell from his bruised lips. His shirt was ripped, revealing his flat but toned stomach, and the love bites covering almost his entire left shoulder was impossible to miss. Eren stared up at him with confusion.

"Lost control," he mumbled. "I don't want to harm you."

"Anyways," Eren said awkwardly. "You're full now, right? Show me. Prove to me that you didn't kill them."
