A place to stay.
We got to a house near the inn. Gene thought it would be best if you stay with me. Said Andy. He checked his phone. It's 4 am in the morning now. So you get 8 hours of sleep. He said as he showed us our rooms. I'll pick you up at lunch time. I looked around my room. It was big and very empty, since only a bed and a cabinet were in the room. But won't our parents already know we're not home? Asked Johnnie. I called your uncle. Said Andy. He knows this place and this organisation. Your parents think you're at his house. You can call them whenever you like. Then he walked out of the hallway and I heard him turn on a television. The walls were thin here. There's a couch in my room said Johnnie. He knew I had trust issues like no other. So I took my bags and the black sheets off my bed. We walked to his room where I decided to sleep on the couch. Soon I was down. I had kept my clothes on since I was too tired to care at this point.
I woke up because of sunlight shining directly into my face. I checked my phone. I had slept 3 hours. I felt too awake to do anything but get up. Johnnie was still asleep, so I snuck out the door and walked towards the sound of the TV. I opened a door down the hallway, Andy was hanging on the couch, while the dark knight was on. He looked up as I opened the door. Good morning. I said cheerfully. Batman? I asked. The movie had just begun as they were at the bank robbery scene. Yeah. He said awkwardly. Then he pulled himself up. Want some breakfast? He asked. No thanks, I said, I'm still full from the food we got at the inn. I'd like some tea if you have it. I said hopefully. I'm not sure if I have tea, he said. He walked to the other side of the room to a kitchen. Then he looked through his cabinets. Ashley or CC sometimes come over. Maybe they brought tea. He stroked his hand through his hair, allowing his shirt to be lifted up. It revealed his lower back and I felt like I should look the other way. Of course my head did the opposite and I found myself staring. God, I muttered, snap out of it. I walked towards Andy. Ah here's something. He handed me a box of tea. Nice, I said, jasmine, my favourite. He smiled. Sure you don't want breakfast? Oh wait, I said, I walked towards the TV. This is the best part. The joker drove off in the school bus with all the money. Are you on his side? Asked Andy. Spoiler he loses. I'm usually for the hero. But I like the joker's back story. I have too much empathy probably, I said. You can never have too much empathy, said Andy. It's what makes you human. I blushed and walked to the kitchen to make my cup of tea.
