PROLOGUE
"Jis jis ne tumko pyaar kiya hai wohh bhagwaan ko pyaara ho gaya hai aur main nahi chahti ki agla number meri bahu ka ho. Itne saal tak bechaari Vishakha ko khaansi tak nahi hui aur aaj uski itni serious haalat... yeh sab tumhari wajah se ho raha hai, sab tumhari wajah se. Tumhare pyaar ka saaya jispe padta hai wohh duniya se durr chala jaata hai. Tumhara pyaar, tumse pyaar karne waale ki haar bann jaata hai, unki zindagi ka anth bann jaata hai... Yeh baat tumhe bataana mera farz tha kyunki mujhe apni bahu aur apni family ki fikar hai. Bhagwaan ke liye hamara peecha chodo aur hume chain se jeene do."
Daadi's words pierced Sameer's heart every day. He couldn't even face his love when Naina came all the way to Delhi to participate for the dance competition. He knew the competition was just an excuse, the main reason behind her visit was HIM... She had come to meet him. Only for him, Naina had learnt dance & had been sent to Delhi for the finals.
When Rohan handed over Naina's letter, he was on cloud nine. He so wanted to see her, meet her, feel her. She was his oasis. His heart belonged to her, only her... The moment his eyes found her on stage, he was ecstatic. As he approached her, she fell down suddenly & he froze.
Daadi's harsh words rang in his mind again & again and he realized that she was indeed right. He couldn't harm others because of the curse. Yesss... the curse... He too believed that what Daadi told him was very much true. He was cursed, so he lost his father in his childhood & then he even lost his Nanu when he started staying with him.
And now when he was staying with his mother, she too fell sick because of his curse. He didn't want to lose anyone who was special to him. He never got motherly love since his mother remarried & left him alone with Nanu. And now when he was staying with her, he couldn't afford to lose her too.
After watching Naina fall on stage, Sameer decided that it was better he wouldn't meet her at all. Infact, he would never meet her in this lifetime. He saw her winning the dance competition & was very much happy for her, but the decision he had made was final for him. He would never meet her.
Sameer lost all his charm & love in the next few days. Along with Naina, even his mother realized that he was hurt & depressed. Naina didn't have any idea of what all he had heard from his Daadi, but his mother had seen the way her mother-in-law treated him by giving him stale food, by insulting him all the time & hurting him by her harsh words all the time.
Sameer's mother made a decision and started packing his bags in his room. When Sameer entered, she made him sit next to him and spoke with a heavy heart, "Sameer... iss duniya mein main sab kuch bardaasht kar sakti hun, lekin tere chehre pe udaasi, teri aankhon mein aansoon main nahi bardaasht kar sakti... Tera yeh confidence, yeh personality, tera aatmavishwas, tujhe tere Nanu se mila hai aur agar tera aatmavishwas toot gaya na, toh main papa se kabhi nazrein nahi milaa paungi... Mera Sameer shuru se sharaarti tha, gussewaala tha, lekin kamzor kabhi nahi tha beta aur main apne Sameer ko kabhi kamzor padne bhi nahi dungi. Isliye maine faisla kiya hai ki main tujhe waapis bhej rahi hun Ahmedabad... Tu jaa beta, yahaan rahega na toh sirf tu aur main nahi, tere Nanu ki aatma ko bhi shanti nahi milegi, bohot dukh pohchega unhe. Tu jaa..."
Sameer sat there stunned with her decision. He wasn't happy with this, but he had to do it, for his mother. He couldn't stay around her and harm her life, but he didn't even want to return to Ahmedabad. Making up his mind, he hugged his crying mother and spoke between sobs, "Mummy... mujhe Ahmedabad nahi jaana..."
His mother was shocked to hear it, but before she could say anything, he spoke, "Mummy... Kya aap mujhe Mumbai bhej sakti hai? Main apni padhai wahin poori karna chaahta hun." His mother was shaken, "Tu akela kaise rahega ek anjaan sheher mein? At least Ahmedabad mein Munna aur Pandit toh hai, jo tere saath rahenge. Par Mumbai mein... wahaan koi nahi hai hamare pehchaan ka."
Sameer broke the hug and said, "Mummy... main akela nahi hun. Aap hai na mere saath aur Nanu ka bhi aashirwaad hamesha mere saath rahega. Mummy... main akela nahi hun, aapka pyaar, saath aur aashirwaad hamesha mere saath rahega aur wohi kaafi hai mere liye."
His mother didn't know what to say to that. She lovingly caressed his face and said, "Thik hai... Main abhi Rohan ke papa se baat karti hun."
"Uski zarurat nahi hai Vishakha, maine sab sunn liya hai.", her husband's voice came from the door.
Sameer & his mother turned and saw Mr Vivek Somani standing there with his son, Rohan. They entered and sat beside them. Vivek side-hugged his wife and looked at Sameer, "Humne sab sunn liya hai Sameer aur main tumhe Mumbai zaroor bhejunga. Infact, Rohan bhi tumhare saath jaayega. Tum wahaan akele nahi rahoge, tumhara bhai hoga tumhare saath."
Looking at his wife, he continued, "Vishakha... main dono ka admission Mumbai University mein karwa dunga aur inke rehne ki fikar mat karo. Tum mere friend, Mr Rajan Malhotra, ko toh jaanti ho na? Unka ghar hai Mumbai mein, jo bohot saalon se khaali pada hai. Hamare dono bete unhi ke ghar mein rahenge. Main wahaan house help bhi arrange karwa dunga, taaki inn dono ko khaane ki bhi problem na ho."
"Aap yeh sab kyun kar rahe hai Mr Somani?", Sameer asked meeting his gaze. Vivek smiled and looked at Rohan, "Mujhe Rohan aur Deepika ne sab bataa diya hai, jo meri maa ne tumse kahaa tha. Unhone bataaya ki kaise wohh tumhe boori tarah treat karti hai aur kadwi baatein sunaati hai. Main bhi meri maa ko jaanta hun, aajtak maine bhi dekha hai ki wohh kaise tumhe humse alag rakhti hai. Main tab jyada bol nahi paata tha aur kuch kar bhi nahi sakta tha."
"Par aaj jab Rohan ne mujhse poocha ki mujhe kaisa lagta agar Vishakha uske saath aisa sautela behave karti." Lowering his eyes, Vivek continued, "I'm sorry Sameer... maine kabhi tumhara saath nahi diya, kabhi apne bete ki tarah tumhe accept nahi kiya. Par aaj se tum bhi mere bete ho... Main tum dono bhaiyon ka Mumbai jaane ka intezaam dekhta hun."
Vivek got up from the bed & was about to walk off, when his wife tugged his hand. He stopped and his wife suddenly hugged him and sobbed, "Thank you Vivek... Thank you so much..." Rohan hugged Sameer, "Bhai... ab hum dono saath rahenge Mumbai mein, toh ab iss timetable ki aadat daal lo."
Sameer hugged his brother tightly, "Thank you Rohan..." Sameer turned to his mother and stepfather who were adoring the brother's bond. "Thank you Mr Somani...", he said with misty eyes. Vivek just blinked his eyes and left from the room with his wife.
After a week, Sameer and Rohan went to Mumbai and joined the university. Sameer had taken a promise from his mother and his stepfather that they won't reveal to anyone about his whereabouts, especially to Munna and Pandit. He knew if they came to know where he was, they would follow him to Mumbai and there were high chances of Naina tagging along with them.
And he would never risk any of their lives. All the three of them were his souls and were very much precious to him. He couldn't lose them and let anything happen to them because of him. He had made his heart strong and decided to stay away from them for their life. His mother, stepfather and Rohan too tried to get the reason for his stubborn decision, but he never mentioned and the brothers left for Mumbai.
At the other end in Ahmedabad, Naina was anxious. She knew something bad was about to happen. She could feel it in her bones. She kept re-reading his letters. From past few letters she received, she knew something was wrong with him. He always wrote elaborate letters but now, there was hardly anything written in those letters. She had shared her concern with her soul-sister, Preeti too.
Whenever she called at Amrita's place in Delhi, Sameer would never attend her phone calls. He never even replied to her calls which was adding to her worries like hell. She cried every night and prayed for his return soon.
Munna and Pandit had seen her love, her concern and her anxiety for their best friend. But they couldn't help her. They tried to contact Sameer, but it was of no use as all the time either Daadi or Keshav would pick up the call. They even tried calling on Amrita's number, but as usual Sameer never replied. Even they found their best friend's behavior shocking. He had always responded to their calls, but now even they didn't know how to get hold of him.
Munna and Pandit decided to visit Delhi and find out the truth. When they reached there, they were shocked to know that he had left Delhi too. They pleaded with Vishakha and Vivek, but they too couldn't do much as they were bound to their son's promise.
They returned back empty handed and informed Naina about his departure from Delhi forever. Naina was more than shocked with this news. She ran to her room and locked it. She wanted alone time for herself to digest this heartbreaking news.
She took his small photograph out from her journal and sobbed, "Sameer... tum... tum aisa kaise kar sakte ho? Tumne ek baar bhi mere baare mein nahi socha... nahi socha na ki main tumhare bina kaise reh paaungi. Meri jaan basti hai tumne Sameer aur tum... tum mujhe bina bataaye Delhi chodkar chale gaye."
"Mujhe bohot dinon se mehsoos ho raha tha ki tum mein kuch badal gaya hai, tumhara bartaav ekdum ajeeb ho gaya hai... pata nahi aisa kya hua hai tumhe Sameer ki tum mujhe bina kuch bole chale gaye. Main kaise jeeungi tumhare bina Sameer? Kaise jeeungi?"
Naina let out her hurt and pain in her sobs while Sameer cried silently every day after reaching Mumbai. Rohan had seen his tears but had remained quiet. He wanted his brother to speak on his own and he was sure that he would do it someday.
Ten years passed making the lovebird's life difficult to live, but still they survived, loving each other, missing each other.
Naina finished her studies and topped each year in her academics & was now a well-known writer while Sameer had started his own company with Rohan after completing his graduation from Mumbai University & business management diploma from Harvard University.
Sameer had bought his own penthouse in Mumbai and was sharing it with Rohan. His mother and stepfather visited them once every month. In these ten years, the equation between Sameer and Vivek Somani had changed drastically.
Sameer was enjoying his coffee with his brother when the phone rang. "Hello... Ji papa... kaise hai aap aur mummy kaisi hai?", Rohan answered the call. After talking for few minutes, he handed the receiver to Sameer, "Hello... Boliye Papa..."
Rohan smiled hearing his brother addressing his father as his own. Sameer heard attentively what Vivek was telling him which sounded very much crucial. When he ended the call, he sat down on the couch, thinking hard.
"Kya hua Bhai? Papa ne aisa kya kahaa jo aap itna gehri soch mein kho gaye?" Closing his eyes, Sameer replied, "Papa ne kahaa ki mujhe Ahmedabad jaana padega. Nanu ki company band hone ki kagaar pe hai aur mujhe usse bachaana hi hoga. Kisi bhi haal mein main Nanu ki company band nahi hone de sakta Rohan. Wohh company Nanu ka sapna tha, usse main tootne nahi de sakta."
"Aap akele Ahmedabad mein manage kar sakoge? Main bhi saath chalta hun Bhai, hum dono milkar Nanaji ki company sambhaal lenge.", Rohan assured.
"Nahi Rohan... tu yahin reh aur hamari company sambhaal. Hum dono mein se kisi ek ko yahaan rehna padega. Main Ahmedabad jaane ke liye kal hi nikal jaaunga.", Sameer decided instantly.
Rohan booked next morning's flight ticket for his brother and slept in his room while Sameer stayed awake. His heart beating frantically as he was going to visit Ahmedabad after ten long years.
Was he ready to face those people who were still his life???
How was the start?
This is going to be a ten-shot story and I will update this after each update of Vows of Hatred.
It's been a very long time that I've written anything.
I had written this prologue few months ago but had not fully crafted it.
I know you all are waiting for the next update of Vows of Hatred.
I am already working on it and have already finished writing most of the update.
Just an important part of the chapter is left to write, once it is done, I will update this Saturday. And your wait will be over.
At first, I had decided that I would finish with Vows of Hatred and then start this story.
But frankly speaking, I need Samaina's dose to charge me up and Ashdeep is difficult for me to write.
I will be back this Saturday with the next update of Vows of Hatred.
Till then, take care and stay safe.
With Lots of Love,
Daksha...❤️
