Neil remained standing by the balcony. He reached for his phone and scrolled through pictures of her. His heart pounded against his chest violently, Avni was coming back. His heart ached as he remembered the day she left.

*Flash back/fill in*

He was annoyed at her, scrap that he was pissed off at her. He had seen her and Ali in a compromising situation and said hurtful words to her questioning her character and before saying things about her mother. He instantly regretted it and stormed off to his studio apartment where Rhea decided to join him. They were drunk and not thinking straight, a kiss lead to other things and glass shattered on the floor as he heard a sob. Avni stood there in bewilderment and before Neil could react she stormed off only to have her character questioned again in front of his family.

*End of flashback/fill in*

He remembered how she stood there listening to all those hateful words not once a tear leaking out of her eyes. But he could still remember the hurt in her eyes. He screwed up. He hated himself for putting her through that, he wasn't like that -he would never hurt anyone, but that day he couldn't see anything over the jealousy burning his heart and mind and as result...Cheated. That word felt like venom on his lips. No one knew but Aman as Aman had come over to find them in that state. Aman hated him with every fibre in his body. What brother wouldn't? And DD...even he had been given Neil the cold shoulder not talking to him at all. Aman told Ali...The hurt in his eyes left Neil uncomfortable. Ali would have killed Neil had Aman and DD not have stopped him. The three men kept it a secret from the family,no one knew not even Neela. Avni protected him and saved him from humiliation. He was indebted to her. 

Avni's head jerked as the plane landed. She was home. She practically ran off the plane and rushed to the area where people waited for their loved ones. As she ran she saw Aman standing there. She ran towards her brother and jumped on top of him hugging the day lights out of him. He was shocked but soon hugged his sister back like there was no tomorrow. Neela smiled at her children as Aman whispered 'Di we need to talk later' Avni noticed the sense of urgency in his voice but didn't bother arguing and nodded in agreement. Neela cleared her throat as Avni attacked her in a hug,Neela's eyes sprinkled with tears. Her daughter was back. Ali and Nano then squashed her in a hug too. Once the hug ceremony was done they left and began to head their way back to the house.  

Avni was told to go and rest and as she sat on the sofa with her case notes Aman and Ali walked in locking the door. She sent questioning glances to them but they were to busy looking at each other. Ali took her notes and placed them to the side and sat next to her as Aman crouched down looking up at his sister. Ali urged Aman to begin. He took a deep breath. "Di....Ummm....D-Di...Umm." Avni caressed his face lovingly "Whatever you want to say, say with no worries." Aman took  another shaky breath before saying "Di we know why you left...We know it wasn't just because of Shweta Aunty and Bebe but also because of Neil." She looked at him alarmingly "Di we know he...he....cheated." Avni's heart skipped a beat as she looked between the two. She was only able to ask "How?" in a meek voice. Aman and Ali took turns to narrate what happened that day, as sets of fresh tears arose in her eyes. One streaked down her face but Aman instantly wiped it away. Avni then began to say "Yes that was one reason why i left but its not the only reason i left, i left for multiple reasons not just that. I left because i wasn't accepted for the person i am, i left because i felt like a burden on all of you even Neil." Ali looked at Avni "Avni don't you dare try and justify his actions, he was wrong, he accused you of being a s**** and you said nothing, he questioned your character and you said nothing, he spoke ill of Ayesha Aunty and still you said nothing...Usually that is the last straw for you but you didn't say anything." "Ali yaar, your not understanding of course i was hurt his words felt like daggers through my heart and my punishment was leaving and not giving him a chance to explain." Aman and Ali looked at each other. And Avni noticed that look again, there was something that they weren't telling her but she is a lawyer, she find the truth out her own way but for now she decided to drop the subject as she put a film on and called everyone to watch it with them.

Neil was lying down in his room in the old Mehta house  now known as the Kahana house, he looked around the room as his mind flooded with the memories of him and Avni in the room, their pillow fights, their talks, their fights over pointless stuff and their steamy dances (Who else loved that scene today) just then his phone went of with a message from Neela saying 'Avni's back you should come and see her' He stared at the message, she was back. He wanted to go over and see her, but how would she react seeing him would she be angry and hateful or would she have a new guy in her life? Or would she have forgotten everything? Would they ever meet again or will she avoid him?
