okay, so first of all how, when and if you should come out really depends on your family's attitude towards the LGBT+ community. If you know that they are 100% against it and might physically harm you, kick you out or do something else drastic then it might be better to not come out at all.

if you're sure that it's safe to come out here's what you can do:

- do it at home (rather than a public place like a restaurant or while you're in the car)

- make sure everyone is in a pretty good mood when you do it, if someone is already angry for another reason they might react worse than they would if they'd been happy when you told them

- maybe say something along the lines of:

"I wanted to let you know that I might date multiple people at once, it's called being polyamorous and it's not cheating because my partner will know and be okay with it"
