I mean, there's the obvious reason of preventing pregnancy. The birth control pill is awesome for that. I will also mention here that I know there are many other birth control methods out there. I always worry, though, about methods that completely take away your period. It sounds nice and all, but YOU are probably the long-term study for these NEW methods. I would wait these ones out. **I am by NO means a doctor**. This chapter is not intended to take the place of your doctor's advice. But you may want to ask your doctor about the long term consequences of your birth control method.

The birth control pill is very reliable as long as you take it at the same time every day. I never had any trouble with that...

But preventing pregnancy is NOT why I think the birth control pill is SO AMAZING.

I love the pill because it lets you control when your period comes. You can easily skip a period if needed by just starting a new pack right away. I freaking loved those days. In fact, I loved them so much, I'm tempted to go back on the pill even though my husband has had a vasectomy.

I will tell you what. I've had two trips this year and numerous special occasions. Guess what came early or late – whatever was necessary – to put a total damper on my fun. Yeah. My friggin' period. Somehow my body just seems to know how to ruin things for me. It's such a pain – literally and figuratively.

When it's my daughter's time to endure this bloody inconvenience *see how I did that*, I am going to take her to the doctor's office, and set her up with a little bit of predictability.

My Advice: If your period is ruining your fun every time you're about to have some, try the pill out and see if it makes your life better. <3
