=•Bridget's POV•=

2:30 pm Sunday Afternoon

It was mid-afternoon and I was taking a run on a new route I planned out the night before.

It was a sunny day, not too humid and just enough wind. 
I made a left on  Phandalin and pick up my pace as I leave the main busy road. 

I pass some houses put I keep my eyes focused on the road ahead of me. 
Then after a moment, something catches my attention. 

"HEY!" I hear a female voice exclaim as I rapidly turn my head in the direction of her voice. 

=•Third Person•=

As Bridget turns her head towards the girl who was sitting on the front porch of a house. 

The girl had brown hair with blond highlights or blond hair with brown highlights?

But once Bridget turned her head her right foot landed inside a pothole, causing her to trip forward. 

The girl on the front porch gasps as she stands up and rushes down the driveway to Bridget's aide. 

"Hey... Are you okay? Sorry, I startled you..." She starts as she helps Bridget up to her feet. "I-It's fine... Why were you yelling at me?" Bridget asks her. "I needed a hand with something..." She says before noticing Bridget's knee has a big gash on it. "Ohhhh, that's not good" Bridget looks down at her knee. "ugh" Bridget moans in pain and annoyance. 

"Think I can get a bandage before this start to bleed too much?" Bridget asks her as she nods. "Yeah... that's the thing. The reason I got your attention was to see if you could help me out... See I'm kinda new around here and I'm not used to bringing a house key around with me. So now that I have to bring one with me. I forgot, so I can't get into my house" She tells Bridget as Bridget sighs as she bends down and takes a seat on the pavement.

"I'm Megan by the way" Megan says she extends her hand downwards towards Bridget. "I'm Bridget" She tells Megan as she raises her hand up and shakes hands with Megan. 

=•Later•=

Bridget lightly limps behind Megan as she leads Bridget to the side of her house. "SO I'm thinking, if your knee is up to it, I can lift you up and you can go through the open window and unlock the front door" Megan explain as Bridget looks up at the window on the second floor. "Why can't I lift you up?" Bridget asks as Megan shrugs. "You're skinnier than me, it'll be easier. Unless dose your knee hurt too much?" Megan asks with concern. "I should be fine" Bridget says as they take a couple steps closer to the side of the house. 

Megan neals down and steadies herself with her arms against the wall. "Okay, ready" Megan confirms and Bridget moves one foot up onto one of Megan's shoulders. Then moves the foot up and steadies herself on top of Megan. "Okay... Almost there" Bridget says as she reaches for the open window that's just out of reach... 

Bridget stretches up and reaches and her fingertips grasp the ledge put she can't grab it. "Megan I need just a little bit more hieght" Bridget says as Megan sighs but Bridget feels herself go up a little bit in elevation. 

Then when Bridget reaches up again, she's able to fully grab the window ledge and start to pull herself up. 
Megan stands up once Bridget's feet leave her shoulders and she helps push Bridget up and into the window. 

=•Bridget's POV•=

With that extra height, I was able to hoist myself up and my legs were dangling from the edge and my upper body was inside the house. 

I tugged my legs inside then stood up and stuck my head out the window. "I'M IN!" I yell down to Megan as she gives me a thumbs up. "GO UNLUCK THE FRONT DOOR!" She exclaims to me as I nod. I pull my head back inside then notice my knee let some blood on the carpet... 

"MEGAN.... My knee is bleeding... it's on your carpet" I stutter as she sighs and says it's fine. After I go down to the main floor and go towards the main door. I see Megan's shadow in the window and I turn the lock then theres a *Click* and the door is opened. 

"Finally!" Megan smiles as she jumps inside and hugs me. I smile and hug back. "Now let's go and patch up that knee" Megan says as she closes the door and leads me into the bathroom, she grabbed me a towel to clean my knee with and told me to wait in the kitchen.

After Megan collected all the things she needed she entered back into the kitchen and told me to sit on the counter. 
I hesitated for a moment but then did as I was told. 

Megan washed it, dried it,  then applied some peroxide to help with the healing. 
After that, she layered some bandages on my knee. Since the scrap had covered a majority of the front of my knee so the bleeding would be contained. 

Then I hopped down from the counter and we kinda just stood in silence for a moment before I said. "Thanks for helping me out, I hate having to carry these around" Megan says as she gestures over to her keys. I lightly laugh. "No problem! Thanks for cleaning up my knee, it should heal soon" I say to her as concern washes over Megan's face. "You were on a run right? Do you live around here? Want me to drive you home?" She asks me as I think about it for a moment.

It was getting hotter outside so a ride wouldn't be that bad. 

"If you don't mind" I smile at her as she smiles back at me. 
"It's the least I can do for you" She says as she grabs her car keys and leads me out to the driveway, towards her blue jeep.

"Woah I love the colour!" I tell her as I hop in on the passenger side. "aha thanks, her name is Roscoe, she's my pride and joy" Megan tells me proudly as she turns the keys causing the engine to rumble to life. 

"Now where to?" Megan asks as we pull out of her driveway and I give her directions to my house. 

On the way back to my house she let me pick the music, so once I turned on my favourite band, Megan instantly smiled claiming this was also one of her favourite bands to listen to. 

Little did we know that that was one of the many things we'd soon find out we had in common. 

it's been a year since that day, during that year we'd text, video chat and meet up. 
That day was the beginning of an amazing friendship.
