Pre-Packed!

On Tuesday that week, Percy was packing some supplies into the bags. He went up to his computer, went to www.Weathercast.com, and searched for Sunday's forecast. He found out that it would be pretty windy, so he decided to pack two wind-resistant tents. Then he continued with the camping itinerary.

Leslie was down at the Monkey Wrench Garage, just working on a pickup truck repair, but in his mind, he was thinking, As soon as I get home, I'm heading right upstairs and getting my bags ready! Oh, this is gonna be just like old times!

As such, when Leslie got home, he cleaned up, went upstairs, and walked into his bedroom, but it wasn't there. Then Percy walked into the room with the bag and said, "Hey, Dad. No need to worry about your bag. I took care of it."

He laid his father's bag onto his parents' bed and continued, "I'm also writing down an entire itinerary for the camping trip, so you don't have to worry about that either."

"Are you sure you don't need any help carrying the bags?" Leslie asked, "I mean, a load like that will probably be pretty heavy."

"It's fine, Dad," Percy answered, "I know to lift with my back straight. Besides, I'll just take them one at a time. I know how sore your muscles feel all the time. After all, those tools at work aren't exactly lightweight."

Leslie sighed and said, "You just keep insisting on handling things yourself. It's like you just keep getting more compe-tent! Haha, dad joke!"

  "Dad, don't," Percy facepalmed, "just-just don't."
