One With Nature
Back at the Wilde residence, Bucky was trying to decide the camping trip's location. Geoffrey, who had just finished rolling up sleeping bags, noticed this and calmly asked his dad, "Dad, you need some help?"
"No thanks, son," Bucky obstinately (yet politely) declined, "I can handle this. I've already written down all the places in New Jungsey that have good weather conditions during the summer."
"Dad, weather isn't the only important factor in an ideal camping area," Geoffrey pointed out, "there's also whether or not there are dangerous predators nearby."
"You're worried about predators?" Bucky scoffed, "You'll be with your old man. You know I'll always be there to protect you."
Geoffrey simply chuckled and responded, "Well, it's better to just stay on the careful side."
Geoffrey went into his bedroom, grabbed his Predator-Habitat List, put it in an old, emptied-out folder, and started packing up his satchel. He also included the folder, a flashlight, his trusty bow, some rope, a water bottle, a few bottles of pepper spray in the pocket, his copy of A Camper's Guide to Wilderness Survival, a first-aid kit, and a compass. Just then, he heard a ringing on his phone. It was a call from Percy! Geoffrey answered and said, "Hello?"
"Hi, Geoffrey," Percy called, "I just wanted to call to tell you about what the weather's gonna be like. It's gonna be very windy, so we're gonna need some sturdy, low-to-the-ground tents. Okay?"
"Got it," Geoffrey responded, and Percy added, "I'm also thinking about packing some extra tents just in case one of them flies away. That wind could be more powerful than we think."
"The tent won't blow away if it's strong enough to resist the gusts," Geoffrey commented, "so how's your mom doing with the itinerary?"
"Oh, just fine," Percy responded, "she's carefully planned out every single activity, and she's hoping that we'll all be able to follow it accordingly."
"Probably not a camper who prefers spontaneity," Geoffrey said back, "like me. Anyway, my dad's thinking about the location options, and I got together some supplies in case we run into predators."
"Gotcha," Percy replied, "guess I'll see you on Sunday."
"Okay." They both hung up.
