Day of the Trip!
Eventually, the day of the trip came. Both the fathers and sons got their bags and started heading out. Once Percy and his dad started off, Percy got a little tracking module out of his Prep Pack and said, "This should help if we get lost."
Leslie lowered his son's contraption and said, "Oh, we're not going to need that. We'll just let Mother Nature be our guide."
With that, they continued walking until they came across a fork in the road. Leslie set his backpack down, zipped it open, and got out a rather large scroll of paper. He unfurled it to reveal that it was concealing a map inside. He then started reading the map, and after a little while, he pointed to a part of it and said, "Aha!"
This quickly caught Percy's attention (and startled him a little). He turned to his dad and asked, "What is it?"
"I think I've found the right way to the site," Leslie answered, pointing to the path on the right.
With that, the two went onto the right (direction-wise) path. After some time, they were right on their way to the meeting spot. Leslie was reading the map as they walked through the path, and he said, "Okay, once we get to a four-way path split, then we're gonna have to-" but before he could finish what he was saying, he tripped over a fallen tree. Luckily, Percy helped him up, chuckled a little bit, and advised, "Dad, I may not be the navigator here, but maybe you should wait until we stop to bury your face in the map."
Meanwhile, Geoffrey and Mr. Wilde were also on their way to the site. However, they were taking a different path. Bucky was rummaging through his backpack and- not looking where he's going- tripped over a large, loose rock. Luckily, Geoffrey was able to catch his dad before he could hit the ground. "You alright, Dad?"
"Yeah," Mr. Wilde answered, sounding a little bit embarrassed, "thanks."
Geoffrey chuckled a little and said, "Maybe you should spend less time searching your backpack and more time watching where you're going. Hey, what were you rummaging for anyway?"
"I was getting the map," Mr. Wilde replied semi-sheepishly, "'cause I think we might be... Lost."
"Don't worry," Geoffrey tried to reassure his father, "I think I know what to do." He started looking around until he spotted a particularly tall tree. He rushed over to it and started climbing. Once he got to the top, he started looking around again. After a little while, he came back down, rushed over to his dad, and said while a little out of breath, "Okay, I think I've found us a path that'll get us to the spot. Follow me."
Geoffrey started leading the way, and Mr. Wilde simply followed along without a word.
