Millie went back up to Lenny, who asked her, "How'd it go?"

  "It was great!" Millie answered with childlike glee, "I learned that there are some boy's names that sounds like girl's names!"

  Lenny started laughing and said, "Well, did you find out anything about what's going on?"

  "I did," Millie responded, "but I also made a promise to Alice that I wouldn't tell anyone else, especially not you. She promised me one of Oliver's old bandannas."

  Lenny could've gotten angry and lashed out at his younger sister, but a) he wasn't one to anger easily, and lashing out wasn't really his thing, b) she did make a promise and was trying to keep it, which definitely wasn't something to get mad over, and c) she was just so adorable and innocent! How could he ever yell at such a cute, little girl? Especially if that girl was his little sister?

  Instead, he just laughed it off (as he does with all his other problems, but it sounded slightly more forced and unnatural than usual) and retreated into a nearby bush.
