Yami's POV

"Yugi, are you coming?" I called out, waiting at the corner of the school. For some reason, the lockers were outside on one of the sides of the school. I had to admit that the school was pretty small but how could they have the lockers outside? I shrugged it off when I saw Yugi running towards me.

"Sorry, I was talking to someone," Yugi explained. I nodded and the two of us began walking to the house we were staying at. "So how was school for you?"

"It was good," I chuckled. "You know, you don't have to ask that. We're in the same grade."

"But it's good to ask!" Yugi protested.

"Okay, okay."

"Hi, you two!" Melody exclaimed, running to us. "How was your first day?"

"I'll be honest: it wasn't too bad," I admitted. "And your class is quite interesting." Since Yugi and I were exchange students, we were bombarded with many questions from our classmates. I dust mind answering the questions but I was a bit worried about Yugi. Yugi was nervous about coming to a new school and could get kind of shy when he's surrounded by people.

"Yeah, sorry about that!" Melody said with a soft sigh. "My class is super curious about you two. How was your first day, Yugi?"

"I-It was good," Yugi stuttered, looking at her. I glanced over at him and noticed his face was a little pink.

"Hmm, interesting," I thought to myself. "Something's up with him."

"Well, I'm glad that you two had a good first day!" Melody said with a smile. "I'll see you tomorrow!" She then ran over to her friends, leaving Yugi and I by ourselves.

"Let's get going, Yugi," I said as I started to walk again. I didn't bother looking around s for a while until I realized that Yugi wasn't with me. "Yugi?" I glanced at almost every direction until I found him, but he didn't move an inch from when we talked to Melody. I smirked a bit. I knew it, I absolutely knew it! I chuckled to myself and walked to Yugi. "You know, it's strange to fall for a girl the first day to meet her, right?"

"What?!" Yugi exclaimed, looking at me.

"Wait a moment, I think there's a term that this time has for that sort of thing. Now what was it again?......Ah, that's right! It's called 'love at first sight'". At this point, I was teasing him about it. Yugi's face was incredibly red as he said,

"I don't like that girl!"

"Oh really?" I said, wrapping one of my arms around him. "Then what were you doing just staring blankly into space? Were you thinking of Melody?"

"N-No!" Yugi pushed off my arm and ran a bit ahead of me. "I only admire her for helping us today. That's all." I laughed softly. I knew that he was denying the feelings that he had for her. I knew him all too well.

"Yugi, you can't stay back from that feeling forever," I mentioned. "You'll have to face if sooner or later."

"I-I...I know. Was I too obvious?"

"A bit, especially when you blanked a few minutes ago." He groaned loudly, revealing his inner frustration. I caught up to Yugi and patted his back. "Don't worry, I'm sure you'll win her over soon."

"Wait what?" Yugi said in surprise. "You don't just say you like a person right away, Pharaoh!"

"You don't?" I responded, confused. "But isn't that the logical thing you should do, Partner?"

"Of course not! It's too embarrassing."

"I don't see how it's embarrassing."

"It is!!! How do you not understand this?!"

"Well, I didn't exactly go through this feeling thing. You have to let me slide a little on this issue."

"I guess. But you better not tell anyone, okay?"

"Your secret is safe with me, Partner." Yugi sighed in relief and I thought of what I just said. I had no idea how to help in his situation and I thought it would be better for him to talk to someone else. But then, I couldn't tell anyone because of the promise I made. I sighed softly and thought of what I could do.
