I pout, sticking my lower lip put as far as I possibly could.
Silver's eyes were twinkling in mischief.
I narrow my eyes at her. She needed to know I was just trying to keep her safe.
I didn't trust that twinkle in her eyes.
She kept me from... Him...
I shiver.
"Are you okay?" Silver asked, concern covering her face, all playful banter gone.
I snort, then shake my head. As long as I knew He was still alive and here, I wasn't okay.
I would never let her out of my sight.
I lay my chin on the ground and point to the deep burn on my muzzle with my claw.
I walked closer to her nose, gently placing my hand on the scar.
She winced in pain.
I flinched an immediately pulled my hand away.
My body and face felt apologetic.
"Sorry." I mutter quietly to her. I didn't want to hurt her.
I nuzzled into her chest, accepting her apology.
I even let her pet my nose.
I wish I was her size again so I could give her a proper hug.
But I had a feeling that wasn't happening anytime soon.
I wrapped my arms around her muzzle, careful not to touch the burn.
I purr happily at the gesture.
After she let go, I yawned and stretched my wings, my hind legs stretching out behind me.
I heard the engine of a car. About ten miles away.
I didn't recognize the engine.
I stood up, standing over her while growling softly, my tail around my hind legs.
I had to protect her.
"Should we go?" I ask quietly.
She nodded in response, tucking her head down to where I was and opened her jaws.
I laid my stomach across her teeth, and she lifted me up.
She placed me down on her back, my bag packed and ready to go a long time ago.
I was ready to go at a second's notice.
I was getting a little nervous the more she stood still.
"Don't get hurt." I whisper to her.
I twitch my eye and nod in reply.
I listen again, stretching my neck up.
I feel her shift on my back a little more, hanging on tight.
Something moves in thr trees. Something big.
I recognize the footsteps.
I coo, interested.
I tilt my head.
A large, black figure steps out of the treeline.
I wag my tail excitedly.
He was here.
I hadn't seen him in ages.
He bounds over to me, and we circle each other, sniffing behind the crests and under the wings.
We wind our necks together, our foreheads touching in a friendly greeting.
I held on tight to her as the other black dragon circled her.
I kinda smiled when they seemed to know each other.
His name was Toothless.
A Nightfury, but much larger than what the movies made him out to be.
He was about my size, but a little smaller.
I felt Silver try and get off my back.
I put my wing on the ground, and she slides down it, walking over to Toothless.
I raise my hand up, and he bent down, touching his muzzle against my palm.
Why were thier noses so dang soft?
I wasn't complaining, though.
He smelled something in her bag.
He lifted his head, sniffing in her open bag.
I snort at him, and he backs off.
He nuzzles into my chin, then he playfully pawed my leg.
I took my paw and swiped down playfully, and he took that as an invitation to knock me down, cooing happily.
I snicker in the backround, watching as the two dragons played with one another.
I roared happily, gently nibbling his ear.
He laid down on me, pinning me down.
He was smaller than me, but heavier.
I wrap my neck around his, purring loudly.
I hadn't seen him in years.
He didn't age a day the last time I saw him.
I coo at him as he let me up, and I sniff his back.
He still had the saddle. But where was Hiccup?
He snorted sadly, slowly walking to he treeline.
He wanted me to follow him.
I quickly pick Silver up in my jaws and place her on my back, catching up to him.
I hold on tightly to her, making sure my bag was on right.
I had chocolate in there.
That was precious cargo.
"Ready." I say, but Moon wasn't waiting for me.
The artificial half of his tail still looked brand new, except a little more sleek and modern.
We went deeper and deeper in, but we stopped at a small tree, not very wide.
I smelled Hiccup.
He was laid down on the ground, and he wasn't moving.
He was still breathing, but that was it.
The other dragon nudged the man...
The man that looked exactly like Hiccup.
The red half of the other dragon's tail.
I almost fainted.
Toothless.
The. Toothless.
The. Hiccup. Haddoc.
Ohmygod...
Hiccup was breathing. Just barely.
I saw how desperate Toothless was.
I knew how close they were.
I could use my blood...
Just this once.
I dig my claw into my leg, putting Silver down on the ground.
I took my bloodied claw, touching it to Hiccup's chest, and slid down.
My skin heals on it's own, and my blood on Hiccup glowed.
He woke up.
Toothless looked at Moon, giving her the wide cat eyes.
I watched as the glow faded.
His eyes started to flicker open, and I smiled.
Toothless whined in happiness when he saw his friend was alive, laying down and nuzzling him.
"Hey, bud." Hiccup said weakly, stroking Toothless' nose slowly.
Hiccup looked at Half Moon in her reptilian form and gasped.
"You... You're... You're still alive?" He asked, his mouth agape.
I nod, laying down beside Hiccup and nod a couple times.
I put my muzzle beside his body, still hoping he knew I was the little girl he helped all those years ago.
"Gracie?" He asked me in disbelief, stroking my lower jaw.
I nod.
He started stroking my muzzle, his eyes catching on my scar.
His eyes hardened in anger.
"Um... Hi..." I say awkwardly, and Hiccup snaps his head towards me.
"Who are you?" Hiccup asked, getting up with the help of his friend and Half Moon.
Moon made that cooing sound in her throat, nuzzling into me.
Hiccup looked at Moon, then back at me.
"She your rider?" Hiccup asked her.
She shook her head, then looked at me.
She wanted me to explain.
She knew I wasn't good at explaining things.
Well, she can't really talk right now, so I explained without putting up much of a fuss.
"Moon's my friend. She's currently stuck in this form." I wave my hand at Moon to show what I meant.
Hiccup nodded, then looked at me.
"Did she get that scar from-"
I cut him off, growling loudly.
I didn't want to think of the name.
He stopped. "Well, at least she's alive." He came over with Toothless supporting him, and he patted my nose.
Moon nuzzled him, her eyes saying sorry.
"Yep." I say, staring at my hands.
If I hadn't left her, she wouldn't have that scar.
Hiccup looked at her suspiciously. "What did you do?"
I shake my head at him. She did nothing wrong. She didn't harm me.
He takes a deep breath, rubbing his eyes tiredly. "Sorry."
Hiccup looks at Moon.
"Did you become Alpha yet?" He asked her.
I look towards Moon and nod. "She did." I say for her.
Hiccup wrapped his arms around my muzzle. "See? I told you." He grinned at me.
I huff sarcastically.
When I was a kid, I had always hoped that I would become Alpha. And Hiccup always said I could do anything.
In some ways, he was right.
I tilt my head at Hiccup.
Where were the other riders?
