My best friend

POV: Adrien Agreste

I climb through the open window and enter my empty bedroom. I never realised how empty it actually looked. It's like when Mum left, she has taken all the joy and the bright things out of this house and the people who lived in it. I think the house is now empty thanks to her. Today is the day she left a year ago. To be honest, I can't make myself think of her. Not today. Not how I am dazed by the beauty of the love of my life. Ladybug, I think. My Ladybug.

I jump on my bed and dive my head into my soft pillow. I can't believe she was blushing, she actually reacted to my flirtation, and in a good way too! Wow. Oh, my dear Ladybug. I am charmed by how attractive she looked tonight. It's like she finally realised my dalliance, I really hope she did. Ever since that day when Ian got turned into Stoneheart, and I met her, I knew she was the one for me. Oh, how I wish to know who she really was under that mask.

'Is everything alright, kid?' Plagg tilted his head. I wonder what's going on in his head. He quite possibly thinks I am stupid for having serious feelings for a girl who I barely know anything about, I don't even know her real name. All I know is that she is M'Lady.

'Yeah, I am fine.' I say, trying my hardest not to blush. She let me kiss her hand! Does she like me? But something makes me concentrate on Hawkmoth. It's what Bombgenious said, "Hawkmoth is desperate for them.", 'Plagg?' I sit up, brushing my golden hair to the side of my face with my fingers.

'What?' he says, as he was chewing on some Camembert.

'What do you know about Hawkmoth?' I say smiling shyly at my Kwami. Plagg looks shocked to hear me ask this question. He was clearly expecting a question about Ladybug or something like that.

'Well...' says Plagg, staring down at the floor as if the subject was a hurtful thing to talk about, 'I got to admit, not much at all. But I will tell you something, I once knew the kwami of the butterfly miraculous.'

Wait a second. Hawkmoth has a kwami too!? I wonder how he has got it. I wonder when. I wonder who has given that poor little fellow to this nasty, controlling person. And why? Why would he want to destroy this city? I think back to when I got Plagg. Was he excited when he got his Kwami? Was he like me, clueless but trying to know and understand more? If this was the case, what made him change to this regulating person we know today? Why did he want to go on the bad path? What made him to?

'His name is Nooroo. We fought on one path, until that sad day.' Plagg looked both sad and nervous.

'What sad day?' I looked up. Plagg was clearly hiding something from me. But why? Is it that serious? What does he mean by "that sad day"?

'Look, kid, I am not meant to talk about that day. Even the thought of it hurts me. Please don't force me to tell you. All I can say is that Nooroo one day disappeared. And once he was gone, he never returned.' Plagg got up from the top of my computer screen and levitated to the window. He stared down at the city, 'It's busy as always, right, Adrien?' he lets out a big sigh.

'Yeah, it is.' I reply. I want to know more, but I now this is hurting Plagg and all I can do is trust him. Plagg is my kwami after all right? I know that sometimes, he can get a little too much, but I know he would appreciate if I didn't push him any further. I am still curious though, 'Can you tell me what Nooroo was like?' I smile at him, and he starts laughing.

'Actually, he reminds me of someone. A friend.' he says, still looking at the city through the windows of my room, but I know that with the corner of his eye, he is actually watching me, 'He reminds me of you, Adrien.' he says, finally fully turning to me.

'Really?' I say, now grinning.

'Yes. You know, Nooroo was my best friend. He was stubborn, and he never listened to anyone,' he says, but when he sees that I am making faces he continues, 'But he was also really kind, he listened to people's feelings. He understood people, and never underestimated them. He was the best friend I ever wished for.' he says, smiling at me.

I never saw him smile before. To me, Plagg was always the annoying little creature that lived in my bag, feeding on Camembert. But now, I feel that he is more to me. I don't say it, but easily think it: you are the best friend I could ever wish for too.

'I am starving, give me Camembert!' he breaks the silence while I laugh. Yes, I think again: Plagg is definitely the best friend I would have ever wished for.
