Prologue: Can you Feel it?
Musutafu, Japan, 0800 PM
"Somebody stop that thief!" A woman cried out as her purse gets snatched by a quick footed thief.
"Hell yeah! I'm fast as fuck, boiiii! No one's stopping me from getting that-GUH!"
The thief's corny monologue was interrupted by a kick to his side that sent him flying towards the wall.
"Stupid fucking redditors. Now they're beginning to get out of their gamer seats to simp on some E-girl they'll never get to be with." A young, brash voice mumbled as he approached the staggering thief.
"Whoa, okay, I know who you are. I can- I'll return the purse to the lady, just, just don't curb stomp me please!" The thief stuttered as he raises his arms over his head. His pants became soaked in his own pee as the young man hovered over him.
"Nah, dipshit. Just for that, you're going to pound town." The young man replied as he lifted his feet upwards to knock the pathetic loser out of his misery.
"Stop! Adrenaline Rush! He surrendered! No need for unnecessary bloodshed!" A voice called out to him through a megaphone.
A blinding light loomed over the young man, revealing him to be a boy with green hair, covered with gauze, bandages, and IV bags strapped to his arms.
"The hell do you want, Detective Tsukauchi?! Do you want to tango with me for the 45th time?!" The boy shouted at the detective, now known as Tsukauchi.
"Why don't you understand?! We're here to help you! Not arrest you!" Detective Tsukauchi tries to reasoned with the boy.
"No, you DON'T understand! I don't want the help! All I want is to feel that sweet, sweet rush! I don't care what all of you has to say!" The boy said as he stomped the thief's head, creating a web-like crater on the ground. Without hesitation, he ran the other way and sprinted as fast as a sports car.
"Damn it, Midoriya! Come back here!" Detective Tsukauchi cursed as he started his car and drove off to chase Midoriya with a dozen of police cars trailing behind him as well.
'Damn it, when did it all became to hell?!' Detective Tsukauchi wondered as his mind brings him back two months ago.
Where everything went wrong.
~~~
Two Months Ago...
"Fractured skull, broken left rib cage, two broken legs and a hand fractures." A police officer said as he listed off the injuries of a critically injured criminal.
"Found anything unusual on him?" Detective Tsukauchi asked as he stood beside the officer.
"No, sir. We just found him like this. He's still breathing despite the broken bones." He replied.
"Take him to the hospital then. We'll question the man once he wakes up. Hopefully, he gives us some answers that so many didn't." Detective Tsukauchi said as he aimed his camera at the broken criminal, and snapped a picture.
~~~
Several Days Later...
"No! Don't chase him! Please don't chase him!"
"Calm down, mister. Please, elaborate on why we shouldn't chase the culprit that beat you to half-death?"
Several days after the incident, the criminal woke up violently. Mumbling and muttering words and warnings to himself. When asked, he would flail violently in his straight jacket and cry. Detective Tsukauchi decided to investigate further despite of the man's condition.
"He is nothing like you've ever seen. He stalks you like a wolf, waiting for you to let your guard down so he can pounce on you and bring hisvmighty fist down on your noggin! He likes, no, loves a good hunt. He revels in it like he was made for it!" The man raved as he shakes again.
"What was the reason why you were "hunted" by this man?" Detective Tsukauchi asked as he scribbled down a summary of the criminal's ranting.
"I was in a drug cartel... working in a... puppet company that supplies medical equipment... I... I was with my boys... packing up blood bags, needles, IV bags and epinephrine bags (adrenaline bags) while the drugs are buried underneath all of it. We were about to pack it up and deliver them to a target, but one of my boys got dragged out of our group and we all heard him screaming. Then, he picked him off one by one until he kicked me into a wall."
"At this point, I was so scared that I started shooting blindly towards the darkness... Then I saw those eyes..."
The man began crying again. Rocking back and forth trying to recall his worst memories.
"A p-pair of... green, bloodshot eyes. As if the person didn't sleep for weeks. He was breath was raspy and heavy. But the worst thing is... the sound of hearbeat."
Doctor Tsukauchi raised an eyebrow at that.
"Sound of heartbeat?" He asked the scarred man.
"Yes! The sound of heartbeat! It was coming from him! I don't even know if it's mine or his! I-It was... awful!"
The man began crying again.
"Calm down! Calm down! Tell me one more thing about him. What did he do with the truck?"
The man stopped crying and sniffed before looking at the Detective.
"He took everything! From the drugs, medical supplies, and money. Look, I don't care if you put me in jail or an asylum. I'll tell you everything I know about my gang and you can arrest them! God knows what that psychopath will do if he finds out!"
Detective Tsukauchi sat in silence, wrote something on his notepad before standing up.
"Thank you for cooperating with me. You were a great deal of help today. When you recover from your mental trauma, just tell us the details about your gang and you're one step closer to freedom."
The detective pat the man in the shoulders before leaving the room with his notes about this psycho vigilante on the loose.
'At least the heroes will have something to do instead of having their thumbs on their asses.'
~~~
"Midoriya! We're here to help you! None of this would've happen if you just cooperated with us!" Detective Tsukauchi spoke through the blaring megaphone.
'No! None of you don't have what I need!' Izuku thought as he injected adrenaline into his body. He ran faster and was able to run away from the helicopters hovering above him.
"Shit! Call the Chief and tell him to send a distress signal! We need to catch this kid before he could do any serious damage!" He told the driver. The driver nodded and pulled out his radio and contacted the Chief of Police.
~~~Musutafu Police Station~~~
"What?! You're chasing Adrenaline Rush?!"
...
"Detective Tsukauchi said that? O-Okay, I'll do that then. Over and out."
The Chief of Police then began to send a distress signal to all heroes nearby.
"To all nearby heroes! Adrenaline Rush has been spotted and is currently being chased by the police but he is not showing signs of stopping! Their location is sent to your phones and is tracked in real time so you can plan ahead! Please, this child needs to saved and this doesn't need to go any deeper."
The distress signal was sent, and ten heroes were able to intercept it.
'Poor kid. Putting himself to near death situations just to live is haunting. I hope whoever gets the message goes easy on him.'
