Dwight and Jake worked on a generator; both being quiet and trying to get it done as fast as possible.
"U-Um Jake..." Dwight called timidly, catching the attention of the ruffly-haired male.
"Yeah Dwi?" Jake responded casually.
"You're...You're doing the generator wrong." Dwight pointed out nervously and a light smile slid across Jake's face.
"Oh so I am. Would mind showing me again Dwi?" He asked warmly as Dwight gave a shy nod.
"Course not." Dwight said gently, going over to Jake's side to teach him again.
"The knobs twist to the right, the small levers go up and down, the wires coordinate with each colour~" Dwight carried on - completely immersed in his mechanical thoughts.
Jake just looked at Dwight, completely ignoring Dwight's instructions because he was too distracted.
His eyes traveled over Dwight's dark fluffy hair - neatly parted - and his deep umber-coloured eyes.
He was wearing a dirtied white collar shirt where the sleeves cut off at the near shoulders with denim jeans and a black and orange tie.
His tie was roughly tied around his neck, just tight enough to stay on. Dwight's glasses were thin but delicate, giving Dwight a slightly nerdy schoolboy look.
"Jake, were you even listening?" Dwight's gentle voice snapped Jake out of his staring and he gave an awkward laugh.
"Sorry bud, guess that was like a foreign language to me." Jake replied humorously, earning a quiet laugh from the shy nerd.
"Why don't you get that hook over there? And I'll finish this." Dwight suggested cleverly.
"The Trapper placed a trap around here though, I don't want you getting caught in it Dwi." Jake bit his lip anxiously and thought on it.
"I'm sure I'll be fine. Go on." Dwight nudged him lightly as Jake nodded.
"Okey dokey then. Yell if anything, and I mean anything happens. Don't go to help someone unless I'm with you. Stay safe Dwi." Jake demanded - serious for once - before leaving.
Dwight smiled to himself, blush colouring his cheeks a heavy peony.
Working hard on the generator, he tensed up when he heard a girl's screech ring throughout the Macmillan Estate.
Jake stiffened too - knowing how scared Dwight usually gets when he sees other people in danger.
"Oh Dwi," He thought worriedly,"~don't do something stupid."
"I have to help them, they could be in serious danger!" Dwight's mind told him, forgetting about Jake's warning.
Leaving the generator, he crept away and headed in the direction of the yells.
Seeing the faint crimson aura around the now-hooked survivor; he quickened his pace in order to reach her in time.
Suddenly a snap! sounded and Dwight gave a strangled scream, clutching at his foot.
For you see, Dwight Fairfield went and stood in a bear trap.
Jake looked up in shock, his mind blank.
That was Dwight.
But why? What had happened?
Worried sick, Jake rushed back to the generator that he'd left his talented friend on and saw him missing.
"Dammit Dwight, I told you not to go help unless I'm with you." Jake growled, punching the side of the generator.
He took off sprinting, recognising the scarlet glow around his friend as a dangerous warning.
Jake breathed a inward sigh of relief when he saw that the Trapper had not gotten his friend yet.
"Dwi, Dwi buddy, it's me." Jake greeted soothingly, crouching in front of the hysterical boy.
"Help me, help me Jake, please..." Dwight pleaded painfully.
"I'm on it, don't worry. I've got you." Jake promised, his voice gentle.
He placed both hands on either side of the bear trap and pushed; shoving it open.
Dwight yanked his bloodied foot out of the trap and it clanged shut obnoxiously.
"Hey, hey, it's alright I'm here." Jake comforted him tenderly, seeing tears splash down the cute dork's face.
"I was so scared." Dwight whispered, a panicked expression plastered on his features.
"I know. But I'm always here to protect you Dwi, you know that." Jake helped his friend up; planning to heal him once they were in the clear.
"Thank you Jake." Dwight thanked gratefully as the exit gates beamed - showing their location for a few seconds.
"Don't thank me yet, he's coming." Jake kept his voice calm, but inside he was panicking.
How was he going to help his Dwi and get him out of there with the killer heading straight for them?
Jake began to speed walk, supporting Dwight with one arm.
Hearing a dark chuckle, Jake whipped his head around and saw the Trapper getting closer and closer.
"Jake, what are you-?"
"Dwi, I...I love you!" Jake blurted out passionately, pushing the timid male between some pallets - so he could defend himself.
"J-Jake!" Dwight gasped, watching his friend get chased.
The Trapper slashed wildly and missed the sabotaging survivor by an inch.
Jake hopped through a window - the Trapper pursuing him - and they disappeared completely.
"No! Jake!" Dwi limped in the direction his friend went; his injured body filled with determination.
He caught up to them and saw Jake keeping the killer busy with pallets.
But Jake messed up - not throwing a pallet down in time - and the killer hit him; downing him instantly.
No One Escapes Death...
Dwight insides curled up with fright, the onimous one shot down being what scared him the most.
But the killer didn't hook him - knowing all his hooks were gone and the basement was too far away.
Instead he let Jake die slowly on the floor, his life force draining away.
Jake spotted Dwight and gave a confused/sad look towards him.
"Crawl to me, I can help you." Dwight mouthed urgently.
Grabbing the ground in front of him feebly, Jake began to crawl; leaving an agonising trail of blood in his wake.
Once he was close enough, Dwight rushed towards him and tried to patch him up.
"Oh Jake I'll save you, you can't die. N-Not when...when..." Dwight couldn't continue, too many emotions flickering inside of him.
"When what...?" Jake coughed faintly.
"Not when I love you too." Dwight's eyes filled with tears and surprisingly enough...so did Jake's.
"I didn't know you were gay." Jake mumbled, a happy smile growing across his face.
"I didn't know you were gay." Dwight replied breathlessly as he was almost finished healing Jake.
"DWIGHT! LOOK OUT-!" Jake warned horrified, and Dwight turned around in alarm.
The Trapper sliced his body, making Dwight fall to the ground too.
"Nonono...you were meant to make it...this time..." Jake complained miserably.
"At least, we can die...together." Dwight smiled sadly as he took Jake's hand and squeezed it.
"You cheesy nerd." Jake laughed weakly, reaching over and planting a very light kiss on the other boy's dry lips.
"You handsome jerk." Dwight insulted back lovingly.
"Are you serious...? Is that the best...you got?" Jake chuckled, bleeding to death.
"Well if I wasn't dying I'd have some better ones. So sorry." Dwight smiled playfully as he squeezed Jake's hand.
"I...love you Dwi..." Jake murmured dizzily, trying to hold on.
"I love you too Jake, I always have." Dwight breathed - kissing Jake courageously on the mouth.
They died like that, their lips locked in a tender embrace.
