26. CrissuCytus x Wraith

[CrissuCytus I know you had a tough day today so I decided to cheer you up! I hope this shows how much I love you     ^-^ ❤️]

"Woohoo! Another trial done! We barely escaped." Cam whooped in glee as they ran through the exit gate. Who ran out with her, you may ask? Only her best friend, Ryo. They took pride in surviving together; they didn't trust nor really need the other random survivors.

Ryo grinned, high-fiving her friend and wholeheartedly agreeing. "Our two teammates didn't help - Meg kept sprinting and accidentally sandbagging all of us whilst Nea focused on stealth more than doing generators. Lucky for us I had a brand new part-"

"I hope Nea doesn't spawn with us again. She didn't even have Borrowed Time so she almost farmed me. Great." Cam rolled her eyes, both of the girls returning to the campfire.

"Cammie, Ryo, welcome back." Feng Min was lolling against a log, hopping up once the two walked towards her.

"Hey Feng Min." Ryo greeted as she embraced the gamer-girl amiably; Feng Min being one of her close friends. They both loved gaming, their fierce competitive streak and skilful nature making them legendary players.

"Hi!" Cam chirped, a little tired whilst she flopped onto a log to sit down and catch her breath. Michael had continuously chased her, so she was pretty beat.

"So are you going into the next match? Is Cam? I can go in if that's what you want." Feng Min and Ryo began to strategise, planning and putting their heads together. Cam fell asleep to regain her energy, but the two girls carried on with their strategy.

"Cam keeps getting Exhaustion. She can't go into the next match. If she loses another fragment of her soul she'll go insane - you have to come in with me next." Ryo gravely stated, her curls bouncing as she shook her head.

"Of course. I'm going to get some more firewood, be back soon." Feng Min answered before standing up. She disappeared and Ryo kept watch over her friend and for any danger.

All of a sudden the world around her fizzled away; she was being transported to another match. This was way too quick! And the willing survivors hadn't been chosen which meant...the Entity picked at random. Ryo panicked - poor Cam could've been dragged into this one. She prayed that the younger girl hadn't.

Her vision returned and she saw the new world that had been created around her - her smugness sparking to life. Gas Heaven. Aka Pallet Town. This'll be a piece of cake! Now which killer? Her question was answered with a deadly jingle of bells, the thick silence returning a second later. The Wraith.

Ryo sprinted towards the gas station; her heart pounding as she wanted to make sure Cam wasn't a survivor. She collided with Meg and stifled a groan - oh great, the sandbagger. Muttering a quick apology, the curly-haired girl hurried away and carried on with the crazed Cam search.

So far it was her and Meg...but had Feng Min been added to the team? Or was her worst fear - of Cam being shoved in - coming true? She ran past a generator but then retracted her steps, deciding to help the team a bit. Then her search would carry on. Minutes slipped by as she worked; her heart beating steadily and her fingers moving like nimble spiders whilst she worked - connecting and fixing the wires with ease.

A golden glow shone through the trees when Ryo popped her generator - the first gen to actually be done, despite her wasting ten minutes looking for her friend. The killer was probably coming her way, so the girl snuck through the trees - trying to be inconspicuous as she hoped to be out of the woods.

But unfortunately for her, Philip had spotted her weaving through the foliage; the invisible killer ghosting towards the girl. Ryo whipped her head back as he uncloaked, her eyes widening whilst she covered her shock. Shit. She raced to a wooden jungle gym, hopping through the window and narrowly avoiding a hit from the Wraith.

An irritated growl erupted from the murderous male as he tried to cut her off. But the skilled survivor doubled and even tripled back, knowing what Philip would try to do. She was buying her team time - doing what she was meant to do. Ryo then pallet looped him for a while, the killer growing even more frustrated.

Several snarls ripped from his throat and eventually he landed a sneaky hit in...but he also got stunned. He grunted in fury, slamming his sceptre down on the pallet as he didn't even attempt to break it. Philip had such high pride, and to be belittled like this...it was humiliating. The other killers often shined and got buffs and praise, but he would always be shunned. And oh, how it would piss him off.

"I...am NOT weak!" He hissed to himself; his temper bursting like a shattered bottle of pent-up emotions. Ryo noticed this, hesitating as she decided not to run away. She'd never seen any killer have an outburst like that. Was he...okay...?

"Hey uh...I know it's none of my business, but why do you feel weak?" She held her tense posture whilst she waited for some sort of answer or a civil response.

"Why do you care!?" Philip growled at her, his pride making him glower at her viciously.

"Well not to burst your little bubble but you're bursting with bitterness; even I can see that. So spill it. Or catch me. Or both." Ryo gave a playful grin - one which actually relaxed the Wraith. Well it calmed him down enough to reply.

"The Other killers...they act better than me...and they always get upgrades, whereas I...I always get ignored!" The Wraith snapped at her, feeling wounded as he talked to her.

"That really sucks," She sympathetically stated, knowing how that felt,"-but y'know...that just means the Entity knows you're the strongest. The other killers need those buffs in order to kill, while the Entity thinks you can do just fine without the help."

Philip's eyes widened after he heard her say that, his ego cherishing her sentence as he immediately grew attached to Ryo. He only stared at her; inspecting the girl with milky-white eyes and trying to sense whether or not she was messing with him. His foot broke the pallet but he didn't advance - only watching Ryo stand there. The Wraith marvelled at how she didn't run away; she had serious guts. A will of Iron.

"You...You really think so...?" Philip quietly wondered, standing there awkwardly.

"Yeah. We may be against each other but even enemies have to admire the other's talents." Ryo replied respectfully.

"T-Thank you Ryo..." He muttered and glanced away in embarrassment, not finding the strength to hurt her anymore. She was the first to offer him praise in a long time - why would he take out the sudden ray of sun that had appeared in his world?

"Anytime." She was finding it awkward too; was she meant to run or....?

"I won't chase you. Don't worry." Philip remarked in a low tone, his gaze flickering back to her sweet form. She had natural beauty - with big blue eyes and a cheeky smile. Her chocolate curls were like perfect ringlets as they rested angelically on her shoulders, occasionally ruffling due to the wind.

"Thanks. That's a relief, I'm a little worn-out." Ryo confessed with a casual laugh, giving a soft stretch as she leaned against the wooden wall.

"So...what else do you feel insecure about? I've been told I'm a pretty good listener." She smiled and gave him a flirty wink - being her mischievous self.

"Who told you that?" He messed around a little, thawing towards the brown-haired female whilst he abandoned the match completely. It was much more interesting to engage in a conversation with this girl anyway.

"My friend Cam. I'm actually worried that she's in this match - she got tired out by Myers... Have you - by any chance - seen her around?" Ryo brightened up; knowing that killers get told which survivors they'll be facing.

"Yes. She's in this match, but I haven't seen her." Philip answered honestly.

"Thank you. God, I was so worried. In fact-" Ryo was about to continue when the Wraith let out an infuriated growl. How did he get blinded with fucking Lightborn on-?!

"Ryo! I came to save you!" Cam cried as she seized her best friend's hand and tried to tug her away from the killer.

"No wait, Cam, you don't understand-!" Ryo did her best to explain, but was unable to due to the Wraith recovering. And boy, was he pissed off-

"She didn't mean it - she thought you were chasing me!" Ryo pleaded - disappointed as Philip pushed past her; now livid with rage.

He lashed out at the younger girl, Cam gasping in pain and clutching her stinging side, now racing away from the Wraith. Philip on the other hand was now pursuing her - half-thankful he could sacrifice this survivor instead. He didn't stop to think that it was Ryo's friend and that she might be hurt. This bitch with the flashlight needed to die. Right now. He struck her with another hit, satisfied as she collapsed to the ground in agony.

"No! Don't pick her up! Wait, wait, wait!" Ryo skidded in front of him, blocking his path whilst she threw her hands to the side.

"Get out of the way Ryo. I actually like you, but keep getting in my way and I will strike you as well." Philip darkly declared, twitching slightly.

"She's my best friend. Please spare her...please. I'll...I'll do anything! I promise, anything you want; anything at all." She brokenly begged and clasped her hands to her chest.

"Anything...hm?" He grinned a little; his grin crooked as he grew interested in her enticing deal.

"You heard me. Anything." Ryo quickly reassured him, hearing her friend's whimper on the floor. It tugged at the altruistic friend's heartstrings, and the curly-haired survivor knew she'd do anything for Cam.

"Stay here. By my side. Be my beloved mate. Forever. The Entity shall grant you immortality, as long as you keep me company." Philip psychotically ordered; setting stern rules right off the bat.

"You're not pulling any punches, huh? I...I don't know about forever..." Ryo mumbled timidly, and his evil smile widened.

"If you don't agree, I will make sure your friend bleeds out and DIES. I want you to be mine. All mine. Only mine." He threatened in a deranged manner - starting an obsession with the empathic survivor.

"No! I-I mean, don't do that. It's just...forever is...well forever." She bit her lip, mulling it over whilst Cam slowly bled.

"Cleverly observed." The Wraith dryly noted. He saw how stressed out and pressured Ryo was, making him soften towards her.

"I know it's a strange request, but I've been lonely for an extremely long time. You've been the first one to show me any kindness at all and I really do appreciate you." Philip sweetly told the girl; cupping the side of her face with one hand. He caressed her cheek, brushing over her skin with fondness whilst the killer tried to comfort Ryo.

"Is is an odd demand, but...I'll do it. Just let Cam leave - she didn't deserve any of this shit." Ryo agreed softly, her expression slightly pained.

"Thank you. I mean it." The Wraith's tone was soft yet sincere; excitement sparkling in his pale eyes as he relaxed his stance.

"I'd say anytime - but now we have forever." She feebly joked, smiling and pulling her arms back to her sides.

"Touché." He wrapped his arms around Ryo before burying his head into her hair, breathing in her flowery scent. This is just what he needed; comfort. And she'd give it to him.
